Crystal Lodge – The Ultimate Vacation Home in Northern Michigan

Welcome to Crystal Lodge, a stunning log and cedar-sided vacation home nestled on 8.5 private acres just 1 mile from the heart of Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa in beautiful Northern Michigan. Whether you’re seeking a winter retreat with skiing and snowmobiling or a summer getaway with hiking, boating, and outdoor adventures, Crystal Lodge offers the perfect setting for families, friends, and groups.

Cozy and Comfortable Accommodations
This unique vacation rental features two fully-equipped units, with abundant sleeping and living space to accommodate large groups. From April 1st to December 15th, both units are included in the rental, offering sleeping arrangements for up to 20 people. During ski season (Dec 16th to March 31st), only one unit will be available, accommodating up to 10 people.

Each unit offers:

3 cozy bedrooms: 2 with queen-sized beds and 1 with a full-sized bed.
Loft areas: Each unit includes a loft with a twin bed and a twin-over-full bunk bed, perfect for extra guests or kids.
2 full bathrooms: One with a shower stall downstairs and one with a tub/shower combination upstairs.
Fully-equipped kitchen: Complete with a center island, dishwasher, and everything you need to prepare meals together.
For larger groups, a custom wall can be opened to combine both units, creating a spacious, interconnected home for up to 20 guests. (Please note: This option is not available during ski season; only one unit is available from December 16th to March 31st.) **Special request for both units may be available for an extra fee for certain dates.**

Located on 8.5 acres of pristine land, Crystal Lodge is a true four-season retreat:

Winter: During ski season, take advantage of the nearby Crystal Mountain Resort, just 1 mile away, for skiing, snowboarding, and spa services. Explore the snowy landscape with your snowshoes, cross-country skis, fat bikes, or snowmobiles. After a day of adventure, relax around the outdoor fire pit or unwind inside by the gas fireplace.
Summer: Enjoy hiking, mountain biking, mushroom picking, birdwatching, and plenty of space to simply relax. The property is ideal for outdoor games, family activities, and taking in the beauty of Northern Michigan.

4th Thanksgiving Here

Our go to place for our large family group for Thanksgiving. Comfortable beds and very well equipped for large scale cooking. Ample seating but sofas getting a little old now.

Great for multiple families

We absolutely loved the space! Great for big groups/multiple families/kids. Great location in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed use of the fire pit, the bbq grill and walking the property/mushroom hunting. Check-in was a breeze. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place for skiing and family groups

My sister and I each took one half of this place. It is great for getting everyone together to play games in the evening. Each side has its own kitchen so we took turns cooking dinner. It is close to Crystal Mountain. Deer kept coming to look at us, which was fun.

Second time is even better

This is our second year celebrating the holidays with family and we couldn’t be more pleased. It’s so comfortable and inviting. With our large group ranging in ages 8-78 it’s perfect with the two living areas (we rent both sides), two kitchens and plenty of seating. Comfortable beds and pillows along with extra blankets for snuggling with. We look forward to more get togethers here!! It’s perfect!

Ed - we truly enjoyed your vrbo home; it truly worked out perfectly for our group with both sides and to be able to move the wall between us and to have 2 kitchens was AWESOME! The decor in the house is so nice too! We had many moments at the bonfire with our entire family each night. What a great Labor Day weekend and we THANK YOU. The house is wonderful! Great location

We enjoyed our stay in Unit B for a ski weekend. We were so close to Crystal Mt, but yet we had our own big space! We like to cook in but don’t always remember every little item. This rental had us covered! The kitchen had many supplies and dishes. We had everything we needed. The hosts had prompt communication and willing to accommodate us. Everything was clean and we felt very safe. We recommend this rental for others!

Comfortable for a group of 12!

Ed's place was cozy but also spacious enough to accommodate 12 guys on a golf outing. Bedrooms are small but were perfect to give each guy their own space. 4 bathrooms were ample and the living rooms (we rented both A & B sides of the home) were more spacious than the pictures do justice. Room enough for 6 cars to park as well. Overall we were thrilled with Ed's home and it was a great launch pad for us to play that areas great golf courses. Lastly, check in as SUPER easy and prompt.

Cabin for 8 Golfers - AWESOME!!!!

Cabin was perfect for 8 golfers in town for an annual golf trip. It is near Arcadia Bluffs (less than 20 minutes away) and Crystal Mountain resort (less than 5 minutes away). Plenty of room and beds for 8 guys. Two kitchens were very handy for our group in addition to the charcoal and propane grills outside. The fire pit/fire ring is also a nice touch. Most of our time at the house was spent outside sitting around the fire. Communication with Ed & Julie was quick & easy. They are some of the best VRBO homeowners my group has come across. If we come back to this area again, we'll definitely stay here!!

What an amazing place to stay!

My elderly parents live in the area. Every summer we come up to this area to camp...usually about 35 of us. Many of us are no longer interested in camping...old bones... ;) So I was delighted when I found this lodge online. I booked it almost a year in advance. Twenty of us stayed there...but during meal times there were more of us. There was plenty of space both inside and outside to accommodate the entire crew during this time. Each side of the lodge is the same...so the noisy ones sat on one side and the quiet ones sat on the other. It was a great place!!!

Crystal Lodge Evaluation

Overall, Crystal Lodge worked well for our five families; 14 adults all totaled. We were mostly from out of state. Our youngest children were college age. We have rented large houses for our family three of the last five years. The house obviously works better for more kids and fewer adults. Having both sides of your house was just the right amount of space downstairs. We were mostly gone during the days. We liked it’s isolated, rural location. It worked well for our local side trips once we became familiar with the roads. The walkers of the family especially liked the short walk through the woods for the longer trails at Crystal Mountain resort. Others liked being close to the river. We took advantage of the both kitchens for meals. The basic amenities were the right amount; except for a kettle for hot water. We found the square dinning plates too large; certainly not convenient for the dish washers. The table and chairs were just the right size and quantity. We found the lights over the kitchen counters annoying. They were too low hanging so we raised them. Then the type were too bright in the rest of the living room so kept them on dim which made them less effective.The downstairs bathrooms were small but fully sufficient and used as main bathroom even though it requires passing through the kitchen and dining rooms. Some of the doors in the house did not open or close easily; especially both downstairs bathrooms. Thank you for the fans in each room upstairs. Regards

There was dead bugs on walls, trash under beds and undergarments, not clean bathrooms and the pillows were stained yellow. The grill wasnt working. The house had a weird smell. We were seven people and there was not enough towels and the ones that they did have were suppose to be white and they were a stained and smelled weird.

This was absolutely perfect for a golf weekend at Crystal. There was room on the property to hang out outside, and inside there was plenty of room for 10 people to comfortably relax after a day of golf. Ed was great answering my questions leading up to the stay, and they had a minor issue after the previous guests checked out and had someone out to fix it that afternoon. Extremely responsive hosts, and the property was very well represented in the listing, no surprises. I would highly recommend this if you are looking for something conveniently located near Crystal for far less than onsite lodging.Cheers!
