Paradise has been found. Beautiful lake home and property for your next get a way. Come enjoy all Long Lake, Alpena, and Rogers City has to offer with year round fun and activities. Short drive to Lake Huron shoreline. Many lighthouses nearby.

Coming to Fish? Long Lake is one of the best fishing lakes in the area. Enjoy plenty of dock space for your boats, or fish the canal and the silver weeds. Don't worry about to much boat traffic, we are at the quiet end of the lake. Fish Cleaning Station also included for guest use.

Come to Explore the Lake? We include 2 kayaks and a pedalboat to explore the area. Dodge Marine on the lake also offers boat rentals if interested.

Come for Privacy? The home is located on the end of a secluded canal area with full lake view and direct access. 20' Shoreline Canal Dock and 170' Lake Dock. No neighbors on the west side of home. East side of home nearest home is approximately 200' away.

End your day at the firepit? We have an amazing waterfront firepit for you to enjoy your evenings with stories, and fun!

Yard Games your thing? We include Cornhole Boards and other yard games for afternoon or all day entertainment.

Rainy Day? We have board games inside, 3 smart TV's and plenty of space to spread out.

Good Night Sleep Needed? Included are blackout blinds in bedrooms, and new mattresses and quality pillows. Ceiling Fans in two bedrooms, and plenty of floor fans to move the air!

Very private property with no homes across road and forest on one side.

Bring your boat, snowmobiles, jet skis or other toys..

Fully Furnished Kitchen with all the amentities of home.

Spend your days at the end of the lake dock relaxing in loungers or swimming in the clear water of Long Lake. Tie your boat up at either dock, or feel free to use the included moor! At Night, sit out and watch the stars on the dock in comfort.

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please ensure all dishes are washed and put away. If something is wet please leave the drying rack.
Please start a load of sheets on quick wash and put all towels in hamper. Please leave blankets at the end of the beds.
Please ensure umbrella down, grill covered, kayaks back on hooks, and pedalboat is covered and on lift.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Garage and boathouse is not for guest use. Registered guests only. Towels etc only provided for registered guests.
Propane is provided for grill. If you use it all please reach out. Umbrella must be lowered when not used. Tritoon and Jetskis not for guest use

Enjoyed our vacation with the kids and grandkids on Long Lake. House was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the kayaks, pedal boat, hammocks, yard games and the large yard and deck. Host was very responsive and answered any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again!

Family Christmas celebration

Great lake house

We had a very nice stay at the Irish Retreat. The house was warm and cozy for our stay in December. We were welcomed by Christmas decorations including a Christmas tree. What a great touch for our stay near family for the holiday. We had great communication from the owner and every thing was perfect. Thank you Todd for being a spectacular host. We would recommend to anyone and would definitely consider staying again.

Peaceful, zen-like perfection!

This property and host was exactly what you might imagine from the photos. My best friend and 6 days here to relax and destress from life’s curves. The peaceful waterfront provided ample views and a natural backdrop to help us unwind. The super clean, homey decor allowed us to relax and enjoy. And if there was a question, the host was on it! Definitely a returnable location. Thank you Irishman’s Retreat for allowing us to experience your little slice of heaven! 🍀🍀

Hands down the best stay at any vacation rental we have been to!

To start, the communication with the owner was clear, timely, and friendly. They proactively reached out with information to ensure it was the best stay possible and called back within minutes when we did have a few questions. They were flexible and we were able to come in a day early to avoid traffic also! The home is even better than it is described in the listing. It is set up with everything you would need for a stay and more. It was extremely clean and well laid out for a comfortable stay. The location is great and neighborhood is quiet. We were able to park the boat very easily and there are great dock options and charging is convenient. We booked two more weeks for this fall and next spring before we even left! Thank you for a great stay!!

Why they chose this property

We chose this home as we had looked for years up north for a home. To many homes were on top of each other and had no privacy. We picked this home as when we are up there while there are neighbors around, they are far enough away that we feel like we have our own lake. The bay that the home is in is extremely quiet. Homes are very spread out, and while the privacy is great, Alpena is only about 20-25 minutes away. This town has an amazing downtown and lots to do. The up north charm of downtown is hard to find. Not to mention that Lake Huron is only around the corner (10-15 minutes max).

What makes this property unique

The home is not a "cottage." It is a home. Everything you love about up north, but updated for 2024. Fast internet, technology, but the privacy and views that we believe are unmatched.
