The house was clean and well cared for. We are a family of 4, and it was great for us. Our daughters loved the hot tub and playing in the yard. I appreciated that is was fully fenced. We enjoyed that the neighbors were far away and there was little to no noise.
This place was perfect for a week exploring Joshua tree national park. The house is very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The back yard is beautiful and feels very private. We enjoyed the firepit, the hammocks, and the hottub. The star gazing at night was great as there’s not a lot of light pollution in this area. Indoors, the kitchen had the basics we needed for simple meals and the beds and living room were all very comfortable. The drive to the park and the towns of Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley was easy and not too far. The house has keyless entry so check in and out was a breeze.
This BNB was wonderful! The house was clean, spacious and offered some very convenient amenities. The beds were comfortable and the shower was the perfect size.We will absolutely be returning in the future and I am so excited to bring my dog next time!
Loved the property the interior was clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils. The only thing I’d improve would be the back yard lighting. Some string lights would help with making night time back yard activities more comfortable. Other than that the stay was top notch.

Hi Edward, thanks for the review. Perhaps you didn't see it but there is outdoor lighting in the backyard. There's an exterior wall sconce that illuminates the back patio. There's also about a dozen ground mood lights that illuminate the cacti and other backyard plants.
What a great property for enjoying Joshua Tree and the surrounding areas. The property is fully fenced and the grounds expertly maintained - no odd surprises to trip up your pup. Inside the home is a charming desert oasis, the mini-split ACs work great, living room is a fantastic place to hang out with the statement fireplace, and bedrooms were very comfortable. Loved the rain shower and bathroom. We'll definitely be staying again, internet was solid and the home was very comfortable even during the desert highs.
This was such a treat. The property was even better in person. We especially appreciated the large fenced in plot which offered a feeing of seclusion and privacy. We enjoyed the Hori's most especially, which was extremely well taken care of and provided amazing views of the night sky.Just a 10-15 min drive to J Tree, thi is a no brainer for those looking for and escape with a cozy feel, great amenities , and loads of space.
Very neat and tidy. Quiet neighborhood. Full kitchen. Nice gas fireplace. Nice jacuzzi. Easy drive into town. Lovely views from house. Beds are a bit hard and would be nice to have light duty hooks in shower to hang swimsuits to dry. Overall a lovely way to rest and recharge.
The host communication was very good, responding in a timely manner. The space was clean and cozy enough with a nicely laid out yard. Location was nicely situated between all the local stores and attractions. Beds were comfortable. There were very limited dishes and cookware with most of them dirty upon arrival. We had to deep clean by hand most of the pots and pans before use. The one chopping knife was pretty dull (dangerous). Not a ton of spices so visitors should come prepared. We made it work since it was just my partner and I but for 4 or more ppl you will run out of dishes and utensils rather quickly. The backyard could use way more lighting to better see at a distance in the dark. It gets very dark out there with little to no lighting at all. The garage could use a light above as well, could barlely see when leaving at night. There was not access to any cleaning supplies aside from dish soap to clean and sanitize things especially for the bathroom area. It would have been nice for a bluetooth hookup to play music or to have some more personal touches like board games, books, etc. More hooks in the bathroom or in the bedrooms to hang up towels or swim suits would have been nice.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for your kind comments regarding communication, cleanliness, location, and comfort.
I’d like to clarify a few points for future guests. The kitchen is stocked with approximately a dozen plates, a dozen bowls, and a full drawer of utensils, which most guests find more than sufficient—especially with the dishwasher available on the property. All cookware and dishes are thoroughly cleaned and inspected after every stay, and this is the first time we’ve received feedback indicating otherwise. I’m sorry to hear that this was your experience.
The front and backyard are equipped with multiple accent solar lights, and the backyard also has a wall-mounted pull light for full visibility in the backyard hang space. While the area is intentionally kept more natural and quiet at night, additional lighting preferences can certainly vary by guest.
Cleaning supplies, including disinfecting products, are stored under the sink, and a vacuum is available in the bedroom closet for guest use. The coffee table includes several books, and the smart TV can be used to play music if desired.
We appreciate your suggestions, as guest feedback helps us continue improving the space, and we’re glad you were able to enjoy your stay overall.
Best regards,
We found our little slice of heaven at The Aberdeen House. My husband and I wanted to escape the madness of our busy lives and this stay was exactly what we needed. The house is as described in the listing, you won’t be disappointed. We laid in the hammocks and watched the desert willow tree sway in the wind for longer than we expected. The house and property are peaceful, so if that’s what you’re looking for, this is it. We enjoyed the hot tub at night, the clear skies made for unbelievable star gazing. We truly found ourselves enjoying what nature gave us, which is not the norm for my husband so this was a pleasant surprise. A few shout outs to the local restaurants. We had planned on not going anywhere during our stay but Chris’s guide inspired us to venture out. Our first night we had dinner at The Copper Room, such a cool, mellow vibe and the food & drinks were 10/10. The second night we went to Pappy and Harriet’s, very cool place, casual and more lively than The Copper Room, just as fun. We then went to the Red Dog for one more drink, more of a dive bar feel, staff and other guests were very friendly. Chris as a host was extremely easy to work with and communicate. Zero complaints there. We hope to find our way back to this house soon. Thanks for sharing this home with us Chris.
For the two of us, Aberdeen house was perfect. It was great to be close enough to Yucca Valley to have access to a large grocery store and a variety of restaurants but still enjoy the privacy and quiet of the two acres.Chris was quick to reply when we had questions. The hot tub was wonderful, and our short stay was relaxing and comfortable. The house is a short drive to the west entrance to Joshua Tree NP and only a bit further to the north entrance in 29 Palms. We look forward to visiting the area again and would have no reason to stay anywhere but Aberdeen House!
