We had a fantastic week in PEI staying at this beautiful home. It truly was a home away from home. Johanna has considered everything to make your stay easy and comfortable. She’s easily available to answer any questions, and I have to say, the list of recommendations that she provided to us was so valuable during our trip! This home is minutes away from one of PEI’s most beautiful beaches Brackley beach. We found it prime location just 25 minutes from Charlottetown, Cavendish, North Rustico. We enjoyed sitting out on the front porch with our morning coffees, so relaxing. We loved it here and we will be sure to be back! There’s so much charm in the gem of an island, Johanna’s home reflects this. Thank you from the 4 of us

Overall the place is nice & the location is great, cute cottage very bright & quiet area with nice houses around, there are a few minor issues that need fixing such as: the dishwasher needs some work, ceiling fan in 2nd bedroom doesn’t work, the blinds were not fully functioning, sandbox was not clean for playing in. Downstairs shower could use a shelf for toiletries. Front door could use a privacy curtain or shade.

Right from the arrival we knew this was going to be “the” place! Johanna was so fast and courteous about any questions we had, the house was perfect in every way, comfortable beds, everything you needed was on site, the area was in the perfect location to take in everything PEI had to offer. Johanna provided a great overview of the house and hot spots to visit via a binder and an email as well which helped us plan prior to our arrival. Within Hrs of our arrival we had extra robes and beach towels dropped off without even asking Now that’s service!! As our last day arrived we wished we had booked for two weeks instead of just one, if you get the chance don’t pass this vacation spot by you’ll be sorry if you do!! We really can’t say enough good things not only about the house, location but also Johanna herself. Thank you for the family memories.

10/10 Summer Cottage!

The Stanhope Summer Cottage is a perfect place to stay on your PEI vacation. The house is very roomy and feels like home. It was well stocked with everything you would need to have a worry free trip and it was clean as a whistle. The beds were quite comfortable allowing for a great night’s sleep. The check in process was a breeze and Johanna had a great binder of house information as well as a multitude of recommendations for restaurants and things to do - such a thoughtful touch! Johanna was very quick to respond to communications for any request. The location of the property is spectacular - close to the beach, Charlottetown, etc. We would definitely recommend the Stanhope Summer house to anyone needing a place to stay!

One of the best houses we have rented

This house is exceptional in all aspects. The house is well appointed, comfortable and ideally located. Johanna and Josh are perfect hosts, quick to respond to enquiries and helpful with any questions/needs. We would highly recommend this house for your next stay in PEI. We enjoyed every moment and as two couples travelling together, we found the house spacious and very comfortable. Thank you Johanna and Josh for being such wonderful hosts.

A wonderful stay!

We just got back from a lovely stay at Stanhope summer home. It’s in a great location - 5min drive to beaches and a beautiful sunset, a golf course and Richard’s seafood (yum! A must try!) You’re also central to explore the island. The house is beautiful and has everything you would need - a well stocked kitchen, everything you need to enjoy the beach, and comfy beds. It is clean and beautifully decorated. The hosts are available to answer any questions and even left a bottle of PEI wine for us to enjoy. We can’t wait to come back!

I was absolutely blown away!

I'm from PEI and come here every year for vacation. It's busy with family and visiting etc so it never really felt like a vacation. This was the first place that made me feel like I was on vacation. The small touches were amazing, I'm not going to ruin the surprise but will give you a taste, there was fresh lavender by the bed! Anyway, I would love to give this one star so I could keep as my little secret but that wouldn't be nice. This was the best place I've stayed yet on the Island and we will be back next summer. If you get a chance to rent this place, DO IT! But wait until I book first ;)

A lovely home with a comfy, cozy atmosphere and charming decorative touches. Many windows make it very bright and allow a wonderful breeze to flow through the home. There is AC for those nights when the breeze is insufficient to keep you comfortable. Washer and dryer are definitely a plus. Low traffic and very quiet area. Friendly neighbours. I enjoyed simply sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the front porch and enjoying the blooming blue hydrangeas while listening to the faint sound of the ocean in the distance. Great location 22 minutes from Charlottetown. You can walk to Ross Lane Beach in 14 minutes through a short path that leads you to Seaman's road. The beach is beautiful with light coloured sand and no stones. You can walk this strip of beach forever and see both the sunrise and sunset from here. I also spotted numerous Bald Eagles at Ross Lane Beach. A five minute walk gets you to the bike/pedestrian path along the beautiful bay where you can see many Heron's fishing. Johanna was a lovely host. She always made sure we had everything we needed and our communication went very well through the use of text messaging. Johanna has put together an unbelievable list of restaurants with comments and recommendations. It was so helpful and we made some wonderful new culinary discoveries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very central to everything. Thank You Johanna.
Beautiful Blue Hydrangeas in bloom by the front porch.
I saw so many Herons while walking on the bike path around the bay 5 minutes from the home.
Amazing sunsets over the bay while walking on the bike path.
Spectacular sunsets at Stanhope Cape Beach just a few minutes drive from the home.

This home is comfortably elegant. Beautiful and tasteful decor. Everything you need. We loved the location in quiet Stanhope. We like making our own meals- it was fun using the Michael Smith cookbook. I’d heard about him from a podcast. We loved the access to great bicycling and the beach. We are returning home restored and happy. Stanhope is a great quiet central location. You’ll want to stock up on groceries if you are going to prepare meals. After the first day we went to the Atlantic Superstore in Charlottetown to get what we needed. The fantastic host left a wonderful list of restaurants and markets. We drove to various locations to enjoy bicycling coastal routes. There is a gorgeous route right near the place- the gulf shore parkway - we rode east to Dalvay, then west all the way onto Robinson Island, which is closed to cars. No need to drive to that one. Host provided beach chairs, so we enjoyed beach time, too. It’s a reasonable walking distance to the beach, but plenty of parking- so we just put what we needed in the car and drove the 3 -5 minutes. The walk is made slightly longer than it used to be because the national park closed the area with the old trail for dune restoration. Enjoyed early morning bird walks. I can’t emphasize enough how great a host, Johanna is. Excellent communication. And extra time on checkout day so that we could truly enjoy our last full day in Stanhope. We live far away from this beautiful place, but I hope we can return again and

Fabulous Home With Everything You'd Ever Need!

This home exceeded our expectations on every level. It is well equipped, with everything you'd ever need and very well organized. The natural light that floods in is wonderful, so that even on the rainy days it felt bright and airy. The beds were very comfortable, the sheets were soft and the towels were fluffy. The check in process was smooth and Johanna responded quickly to any questions we had, which were very few because she has binder of recommendations on hand which provided us with so much amazing information. We really didn't need to plan a single thing in advance; we used her suggestions and planned on the go. The assortment of beach gear (chairs, mats, sand toys, boogie board ...etc.) and the required Park Pass) were huge assets! We loved the proximity to Charlottetown as we saw three shows that were playing and enjoyed many of the restaurants on Main Street (Piatto's Pizza, Merchant Man) and we enjoyed hanging out at both Stanhope & Brackley beaches. The highly popular Richard's Seafood restau is just two minutes by car. Another highlight is an afternoon spent having lunch and strolling through the galleries and gorgeous gardens at the Dunes Cafe, which is also just a ten minute drive. Dalvay By the Sea is also less than 10 minutes by car. There are also fabulous, flat bike paths within a couple of kilometres from the home. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place and if/when we return to P.E.I we would love to rent this home again!

Beautiful home and most caring owners!!

Josh and Johanna – what an amazing two weeks! Warmest summer ever in PEI and only one day of rain! We cycled 367km throughout the province. Knowing that at the end of the day we’d be coming back to the comfort of your home and beautiful beaches was the best motivation! We are still so amazed at how beautiful PEI is and your special attention to making us feel welcome is so appreciated and that is our biggest reason for wanting to come back each year!” Nicole & Dan

Fantastic stay on PEI!

This was our first time to PEI with our family and we are so glad we found this summer home to rent! The location was great and Johanna has thought of everything you might need in the house. It was so comfortable and beautifully decorated I didn't want to leave! Being Danish I appreciated their sense of "hygge"! The place was imacculately clean and well kept. Even though the owners were on vacation themselves they still got back to me quickly when I had a question. I would highly recommend this fantastic home to anyone looking for a lovely stay on PEI.

Visit to Stanhope area

Tracey, Val and the three Cathi/Kathy/Cathie's had a beautiful time at your abode and on PEI. We would highly recommend the property and touring PEI, tho' we would advise people to get there earlier in September. Not for the weather, which was overall lovely, but for the attractions and musical talent, which were mostly closed or hard to find. Despite, we managed to entertain ourselves very well, visited beaches and points of interest, east, west, south, shopped locally and combined cooking at home, picnics and enjoying the fare of local restaurants. Owners Josh and Johanna and family made themselves available for any queries. We were impressed with the design and execution of their home, very nice job! We visited Abegweit First Nation where we did a beading workshop, and wished there was more presence of first peoples on PEI. We will be back, thanks for everything.

Great Vacation Home - Great Location

We've stayed in the Stanhope area many times and this is the nicest place yet. The beds are comfortable and so is the seating in the living area. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything needed for meal preparation. The owners are very nice and were attentive to our needs during our stay. Location is ideal for access to Prince Edward Island National Park beaches and the bike path along Gulf Shore. The home is a scenic 20 minute drive to Charlottetown airport, restaurants, shops and grocery stores. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful home and property

We had the opportunity to stay in this Stanhope home earlier this month. It is located in a pleasant neighborhood on gravel roads. The landscaping of the home is beautiful with lovely flowerbeds and three places to sit outside -- in front of the home, on the deck behind the dining room and at the table and chairs on a brick patio. There is also a neighborhood fox which we saw frequently. The inside of the home is tastefully decorated and very clean. What most impressed us about the home was how organized it is. The cupboard is well-stocked for basic cooking. The dishes, glassware, silverware, pots and pans are all new or nearly new. There is even a drawer filled with office supplies in the kitchen. The washer and dryer are in the basement and worked quite well. Overall, we could not have been happier. Johanna also answered our texts promptly and when the DVD player did not work, she supplied a new one. Thank you, Johanna! We wanted to watch the Anne of Green Gables movie.
