About this property
Houston Heights VRBO Bungalow, KingBed, Fenced Yard, Pet Friendly, Stocked Kitcn
Welcome to our enchanting Houston Heights retreat! Perfect blend of charm & modern convenience. Featuring two bedrooms, this cozy bungalow provides ample space for relaxation & comfort. Fully functional kitchen, spacious, fenced backyard, washer/dryer & dedicated parking. Tankless water heater = endless hot water.
Minutes away from the vibrant energy of Downtown, Midtown, Montrose, and EaDo.
Farmers markets & unique shops infusing the lively cultural scene. Ask me for my fav restaurants list!
This home has been in our family for many years and is very special to us. If you are not familiar with the Heights is an amazing environment to explore. Unique restaurants, coffee shops, retail shops and grocery stores. There is even a very local grocery store called Central City Co-Op and is in walking distance at 2515 Harvard St, Houston, TX 77008. They spotlight local growers and makers and sells fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, prepared foods, etc. Another favorite in walking distance is El Bolillo Bakery, 2517 Airline Dr, Houston, Texas 77009. When I go for a morning walk I can smell the fresh pastries they are baking; an amazing way to start the day. You also have the traditional HEB, Whole Foods, Sprouts, etc., just a few minutes away driving. Another "off the beaten path" item, is 14 Pews at 800 Aurora St, Houston, TX 77009. I discovered this one on my morning walk as well. A former church, current art house theater hosting film screenings, music and cultural events. I know, very unique. I could go on with more discoveries I made in the neighborhood over the years but hopefully you will make your own and share your findings with me. :-)
There is a $50 per pet fee. Dogs only; no cats unless you get approval from me. Depending on the breed and weight of your pet I reserve the right to collect an additional refundable deposit. This is on a case by case basis and the reviews you have can make a difference.

About the host
Hosted by Sam Thomas

Hi there! I’m Sam Thomas, grew up in Texas, and I have a deep connection with Houston Heights where I manage this charming VRBO/short-term rental. While my professional life revolves around real estate, hosting has become one of my true passions. It’s not just about providing a place to stay; it’s about creating an experience that feels personal, welcoming, and memorable.
Hospitality, to me, is about more than just a clean space and comfortable amenities—it’s about making every guest feel at home, cared for, and valued. In my years of working in real estate, I’ve learned that the small touches often make the biggest difference. Whether it's coordinating access to the home, offering personalized recommendations for local dining, or simply ensuring that the space is impeccably clean and cozy, I pour my heart into every detail.
Houston Heights is a neighborhood that I absolutely adore. It’s a unique blend of historic charm and modern energy, with its beautiful tree-lined streets, quirky shops, and vibrant food scene. I love sharing this community with guests because there’s always something new to discover, from the art galleries to the weekend farmers’ markets.
When I’m not busy helping clients or hosting guests in Houston, I’m likely spending time with my family or exploring new places. These experiences enrich my understanding of what travelers seek when they’re away from home. I bring that understanding into my hosting, striving to offer not just a place to stay, but a sanctuary where guests can unwind and feel truly welcome.
I believe that the heart of great hospitality lies in anticipating needs and exceeding expectations. My goal is to provide a space where every guest can relax, recharge, and enjoy the vibrant culture of Houston Heights. I look forward to hosting you and helping you create unforgettable memories in this wonderful part of the city.

Why they chose this property
I chose Houston Heights for my short-term rental because it perfectly captures the essence of what makes a neighborhood truly special. The Heights is a unique blend of old-world charm and contemporary vibrancy, offering something for everyone. Walking down the streets, you're greeted by beautifully restored Victorian homes, lush tree-lined avenues, and a palpable sense of community. It feels like stepping into a welcoming small town, right in the middle of a bustling city.
What I love most about the Heights is its dynamic personality. One moment, you’re sipping coffee in a quaint café that’s been a neighborhood staple for decades; the next, you’re exploring a modern art gallery or a trendy boutique that brings fresh energy to the area. This eclectic mix of the old and new makes it a constantly evolving and exciting place to be.
The local community is another reason I was drawn to the Heights. There’s a warmth and friendliness that you feel immediately. Neighbors know each other, and there’s a strong sense of pride in the area. Whether it’s a street festival, a farmers’ market, or a casual gathering at a local park, there’s always something happening that brings people together.
For guests, the Heights offers a perfect balance of relaxation and activity. It’s a neighborhood where you can take a peaceful morning stroll, admire historic architecture, and then dive into a lively afternoon filled with shopping, dining, and exploring. The green spaces, like the Heights Hike and Bike Trail, offer a beautiful way to unwind and enjoy the outdoors.
In choosing the Heights, I wanted to provide my guests with more than just a place to stay—I wanted to offer them an authentic experience in one of Houston’s most beloved neighborhoods. It’s the perfect backdrop for creating lasting memories, and I’m thrilled to share this special place with travelers from around the world.
