Welcome to Headquarters at Prairie Base! Situated on a family cattle farm between Rolla & St. James, MO, this serene getaway boasts panoramic views, an upscale design, and all the comforts of home. This spacious 5-bedroom, 3.5-bath vacation spot features a screened porch, full kitchen, soaking tub, loft, kids nook, and a washer/dryer. Visit Missouri S & T, Fugitive Beach, or sample local libations in St. James. After, get cozy by the fireplace or enjoy a quiet evening by the fire pit.
A shared 30' x 50' in ground pool is available to all guests at Prairie Base seasonally.

We have three other units at this property and can sleep a total of 33.

We had a great stay at headquarters. There's plenty of room, the beds are comfortable, everything is clean and the house is very well equipped. We had everything we needed. We celebrated a late Christmas here as a family.

Great place for our family members to gather to celebrate our son’s graduation from Missouri S&T! The home was decorated for Christmas and so welcoming. Hosts were very responsive to our questions. I would highly recommend!

Headquarters at Prairie Base exceeded are expectations and has probably ruined all future VBRO bookings. Seriously, one of the top 2 VBROs we have rented. It was perfect for our extended family vacation. Having the pool was amazing for the kids. It was clean and owners were very responsive and easy to deal with. Great place, would absolutely stay again.

Enjoyed our Prairie Base stay

Great property for families! Everything was as advertised and the house was very clean and well kept. The morning sunrises were spectacular over the fields and pond! We will definitely be wanting to book again when we plan a trip to the Rolla area! Thanks so much!

We LOVED this property!! The littles loved trying to find the kitties and seeing the cows. Plenty of room for everyone!! Very spacious and clean! The only complaint is that we lost wayer pressure before 10:00 am.

Excellent. Incredibly responsive hosts - a few things came up, which is fine. That’s normal. What was great was how quickly and helpfully Travis and Amanda solved the problems. Very clean. Lots of space for our party of 12. Pool is larger than normal for a house or even a hotel, and we loved that. Would definitely book again - maybe the entire compound next time.

Family trip

We came to go to Fugitive Beach and Meremac Caverns. It was my birthday trip. The house is absolutely adorable. They have keyless entry and welcomed us with a welcome basket and card. They came by and took us on a tour of their property and we were able to see the cutest sheep. We will stay with them our next visit. Love Mandy and Travis as hosts.

Relaxing on the farm

Our family came to Rolla for my daughter's graduation from Missouri S&T . We were looking for a place for the entire family. This was ABSOLUTELY perfect. Large living area for hanging out, great screened in front porch and great views. The Headquarters is beautifully decorated and the bed rooms are wonderful. If we ever come back to Rolla, we will look at staying in one of the smaller houses on the property.

Fabulous Farmhouse!

This house was amazing! Super cute inside and out. Kids loved the loft and puzzles/card games. Adults loved the views and spacious living areas. Beds were very comfy and Roku TVs were a hit. We only stayed two nights due to a robotics competition at Missouri S&T (very easy and quick drive) but wished we could have stayed longer. Hosts were quick to respond and communication was easy. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect Country Getaway

Our stay at this property only had one regret - not being longer. We enjoyed this home as a Christmas weekend with family meeting half way between Oklahoma and Illinois. Travis and Mandy were exceptional hosts. The rural setting that was also just minutes from any thing you needed in town was perfect. The home itself was clean, had cozy furniture, and had two great little areas for the kids to enjoy. It was even decorated for Christmas! Thank you for an unforgettable weekend!

Wonderful country retreat

This was our second stay at the property. We knew what to expect and were not at all disappointed. The property is immaculate both in condition and cleanliness. It is quiet, comfortable, and well appointed with necessary amenities. Travis and Mandy are exceptional hosts and quick to respond to any question or need you may have. Our children loved the playroom nook under the stairs and the loft. The adults loved the large table to sit around and enjoy as well as the serene setting. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Wedding weekend

We were in Rolla to stay at this fabulous house for an elopement/wedding at Gabel Cabins in Salem, Mo. We loved the property, one small hiccup but resolved asap. This home is gorgeous and almost every single thing you need is here and some you might not expect. The setup is fantastic, their communication is immediate and down to earth nicest ever people. Choose this one!

Graduation and Christmas weekend

We rented the house for my son’s December 2024 graduation from Rolla S & T college. This house happens to be about half way from Branson and St Louis. Our family was able to meet for the graduation and our annual Christmas. The house was perfect. Decorated with tree for our presents. The kids loved the toys left by the owners. They also got to check out the cows in the field across the street. The hosts were very accommodating to our needs. We wish we could have stayed longer. A most location to see and visit when you are in the Rolla area. 10 stars.
