This is one of two homes at Goose Rocks beach we currently have listed on VRB0; see our other home at VRBO # 820059. Located at the North East end of the beach, this is our three bedroom, 2 bath Expanded Cape at #10 Elwyn Lane which is our three house driveway off of King's Highway. Not what you typically think of for a cottage at Goose Rocks Beach this house was originally built as a year - round retirement home for my grandparents.
You enter the house through a breezeway-mudroom that abuts a two car garage. The garage is used for storage of the owners automobile and generous amounts of indoor storage for your bicycles and your beach chairs. The breezeway opens to a large, sunny eat-in kitchen with a working raised hearth brick fireplace. Enjoy the sunny kitchen window nook if you can find time to relax with a book.
Off the kitchen is the grande living-dining space......'Grande' for sheer square footage and windows.......400 square feet of hardwood floors and 4 picture windows let in quite a bit of sunlight, wonderful little hilltop views, including views of the Little River and Beaver Pond Brook which are tidal creek waters, Working fireplace in living room.....small amount of free firewood out behind the garage!
This house is not furnished in the typical beach-wicker..... well worn family antiques and oriental rugs set a calming mood. Oil paintings and tick-tock clocks compliment the serenity......but do not worry...it is a wonderful house for children with much square footage for play, make-believe, and games.
Down the hardwood hall from the living area is the first floor bedroom with two twin beds. Windows on two sides, views of the oak-woods, an antique dresser.......
The master bedroom......again larger than normal at a 'cottage' is awash in lilac paint, queen size bed and more antique dressers. Windows on three sides, it is tucked into the rear of the house The master does have a connected bath with tub and shower.
Off the kitchen there is a utility room with washer and dryer and the second bath.....3/4 with a custom built tile and glass shower perfect for visiting guests and those staying in the twin bedrooms.
There is a third bedroom on the second floor of the house. It has two twin beds, a bureau and two wicker chairs and a small TV....so actually makes a nice 'get away' from the people staying on the first floor. Look at our VRBO pictures to get a good idea of the whole house and it's location / setting...
We do provide all sheets and towels and the house is fully equipped so as we like to say 'All you need to bring is your suitcase and food!' Located just a two block stroll to the public access point to Goose Rocks beach...the walk is maybe 5 minutes, but the garage also comes stocked with 3 'beach bicycles' to make the short trip to the beach even more convenient.
Kennebunkport is one of Maine's prettiest villages with dozens of shops, galleries, and restaurants many in historic seaside buildings. Tennis is available for a membership fee at the Goose Rocks Beach Association right at the beach or at no charge 4 miles away at Town of Kennebunkport park on Beachwood Avenue. Three golf courses are located within 10 miles of the house. Come join us and make some Goose Rocks Beach memories to last a lifetime. '

Our recent stay at Goose Rocks Beach was wonderful. Host was very helpful and communicated well throughout our stay. House and location were amazing as was the Kennebunkport area. Will definitely plan to stay again on our next visit to the area.
Loved the fact that the only thing I needed to bring was food. Loved the convenience of being able to cook our own food in a kitchen that was fully stocked!

Thank you for staying at our hone at Goose Rocks Beach!
I was unable to enjoy the property due to a positive covid test but my children and their partners thoroughly enjoyed their time at the cottage. Bruce was a fantastic communicator giving detailed info on the property and all pertinent info (checking in/out, amenities, etc).
We loved the quiet setting with its beautiful views of sunrise and sunset. Big living room windows gave continuous updates as the salt marsh filled and emptied with the tides. Antiques filled the home adding to the sense of another era, but modern conveniences made daily life easy. Excellent appliances, well stocked kitchen, and ample space for a family of 5 or 6 made all of the meals a breeze to prepare. A working fireplace and a light snowfall contributed to a magical Christmas memory during our stay. We would come back in any season. Bruce is an excellent host, so attentive and flexible.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We would love to host you for a return visit in any Season!
Bruce was an excellent host! Very detailed with information about getting to the property and all the amenities surrounding the location. The home was well equipped for all our needs as well as a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Would definitely consider revisiting!
We loved our quiet escape to Kennebunkport. We're in New England, less than two hours a way, but in COVID, a change of house with new scenery is fantastically awesome. Wife and I, a high school aged teen, and my Mom, a senior, were on the trip. The first floor bedroom and bathrooms worked great for my Mom. We enjoyed the living areas and spent our days in the kitchen and living room, or out hiking around on the beaches or parks. The house itself was plenty large for the four of us. The owner, Bruce, was fantastic in all ways. Checking in and out was easy, and he was available to answer any questions as needed. The house was the best stocked house rental we've stayed at. We brought some of our own extra stuff but didn't need most of it. Small touches like candy waiting in a tray, was super cool. Wifi was plenty fast, even though all four of us were on it at the same time a lot. The house has a new heating system (we stayed in winter) and you can tell the house is kept up. Outside shingles and roof look new and the house is Maine cute. Proximity to the beach was great. We had a great week and would have been happy to stay longer! Thanks, Bruce!
Fantastic location, just a few minutes walk from beautiful Goose Rocks Beach. Also convenient to downtown Kennebunkport. We really enjoyed our stay at this property -- lovely view of the river from several of the rooms and distant glimpses of the ocean from the living room. Very quiet neighborhood. The property is very homely. Due to COVID, we cooked at the cottage most of the time and found the kitchen well equipped for cooking. Bruce provides everything needed for a comfortable stay and was good about communicating. Would definitely return to this property.
House was just as described- had beautiful fresh cut flowers inside and decorative pumpkins outside. Bruce was awesome and was available with whatever we needed- he even met the company that dropped off & picked up the baby equipment we rented so it was all ready for us (he even let us borrow some of his baby blankets he had in case we needed more) Super easy check in and a great house. We look forward to coming back.
We go up to Goose Rocks every year. This was our first time renting a place for a week and we loved it. House was fully stocked with chairs, towels, beach toys, grill, bikes. Plenty of parking. Quiet area. Washer and dryer in the house. Clean sheets, lobster pot, utensils etc... really all we needed to bring was food and clothes. Location was great. It’s a very short walk to the first beach path - views of the tides from the house and Bruce was very friendly and happy to accommodate if we needed anything. House was also bigger than we expected - particularly the living/dining room. Would definitely recommend and will be looking to rent again in the future. Thanks Bruce!!
My family stayed here for two weeks over the holidays and had an incredible time. The house is nicely kept and large, with lots of open space for family to gather together. It's location in Goose Rocks Beach is quiet, peaceful, and beautiful, set away from the main part of town, and insulated with a small GRB community of houses. The house itself is just a short walk away from the beach and has beautiful views down to the marsh across the street.
Bruce is an incredible host. We had several questions about the house throughout our stay, and he was always accessible via text and happy to help and answer questions.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a vacation in a quiet beach town with an amazing host!
The cottage was perfect for our stay over Thanksgiving. The house had everything we needed and the surroundings were lovely. Bruce was great to work with and we enjoyed seeing the (harmless) neighborhood porcupine at least once a day!

Quaint Retreat, Beautiful Location
This house is great! The location, the accommodations...everything. I came here with my wife, my best friend, and his wife for an early spring getaway and to explore the northeast which none of us had done before. This place was the perfect introduction to the area. Beautiful views (and plenty of windows through which to view it), nice clean accommodations, easy access (by car) to popular tourist spots, and an owner that is very easy to work with. I would come again in a heartbeat.

Perfectly placed, perfectly comfortable
This house was everything we were looking for in our visit back to Maine for Christmas. It's plenty big for a family of 6 or even 7 to feel comfortable. The owner is nice and generally available if anything comes up. We had something break in the bathroom while we were staying there and he provided a fix the same day without any issue.
The kitchen is fine, not gourmet but also not bad. We had my family over for Christmas dinner at the house and roasted both a leg of lamb and a chicken in the oven while cooking things on the stove-top. Never during the preparation did I feel hampered because the kitchen didn't have something I needed. There are plenty of dishes and silverware - an issue I've had at other places we've rented.
My wife described the decor as 'grandma-ish', lots of trinkets and antiques. It's nice and comfy the way grandma's house would be.
If you've never been to this area, this house is placed well. 5 minutes to downtown Kennebunkport, 10 minutes to downtown Biddeford, 20-30 minutes to Portland, and just steps from the beach. It's placed well - in fact if I ever move back to Maine this area is exactly where I'd buy.
We will definitely try to rent this property again the next time we go out to Maine.

Located in a Secluded Private Small Beach Community
We loved our vacation at Goose Rocks Beach. This area is at the beach but it is also in a very beautiful wooded area and it is in a very safe area. Our family from Massachusetts came to visit us while we were here. As you can see in the pictures, this home has plenty of room for a family reunion. The yard is huge. It is a very short stroll down an uncrowded street to the beach. We enjoyed the beach everyday while we were there. We also enjoyed the sites: Bush's compound is about 16 miles away, Old Ochard Amusement Park, and of course Kennebunkport. This home came well stocked. Thank you so much Bruce for all your help and suggestions.

Family get together
We were looking for a place for a family and friend get together in May. We had guests from New Mexico, Texas, And Michigan as well as my painting group and done church folks! Can only say wonderful things about The place and Bruce. It was fully stocked, clean, great layout and made for family fun and laughter! Plus Bruce encouraged us to pick daffodils - so many varieties. We kept the cases full. And the beach was close by, as were hiking areas. Quiet and snugly. Thanks, Bruce for a wonderful get away!

Perfect Anniversary Getaway
What can I possibly say besides the fact that this house was PARADISE! I was planning a week vacation and stumbled upon this listing. Although, it was a 3 bedroom, something about this house was standing out. This place is a hidden gem and we will be returning. Bruce, I have no words, he was the best...helping with everything and made this trip fantastic. He gave me his cell phone number and I abused it. LOL I called him for recommendations and he couldn't have been more helpful and courteous. He said all you need is a suitcase and food and he meant it. Everything you could possibly need is here. Thank you so much!!! Sincerely, Shannon & Jason from RI.

A Perfect Quiet Week at the Beach
The layout of this house is perfect! Each of the three bedrooms gave us more than enough privacy. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly want or need. Not that we did much cooking other than breakfast, but the night I made my 'famous' spaghetti everything I needed was there for prepping. If you want a nice quiet week at the beach this is the place to stay!

Home by the Sea
This is a home not a beach house and it has an inviting feel to it. The walk to the beach is easy and once on the squeaky sands of Goose Rocks Beach, you begin to relax. The location is quiet and views from the house are beautiful.

Great House at Goose Rocks
Great house for couple or families; short and easy walk to one of the loveliest beaches in Maine, suitable for children. House has views of tidal river. This is a year-round home, not your typical small beach cottage. It is perched on a small hill and set back from the road. Well equipped with beach chairs and towels. Spacious living room; clean, new and updated bathrooms. The owner is very friendly and accommodating but not at all intrusive.Have stayed here twice and will again. Close to Tides Inn restaurant/bar and premier spa; short drive to great lobster establishments and Kennebunkport.
