This Fortunes Rocks beach house has been a cherished family owned getaway since 1948. The house has 4 bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The upstairs beachside bedroom has a queen bed, large closet, and gorgeous ocean views. The second upstairs bedroom has two twin beds, full closet and a view of the conservation land across the street. The downstairs bedrooms mirror the upstairs set.
The house is comfortable and functional. Its location steals the show. You'll enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean from the moment you arrive. The house sits on the private middle section of Fortunes Rocks beach, with dry sand even at high tide. The beach is popular with surfers, swimmers, walkers, and readers alike! Have coffee on either beach side deck overlooking the ocean and step off the back stairs right onto the sand. After a day at the beach, step right from the sand to rinse off in a warm shower in the ground floor bathhouse.
Local shops will deliver surfboard, kayak, or SUP rentals. You can book private surf lessons right in front of the house. The sandy beach stretches for two miles and at low tide brings added adventures. There are tidal pools great for the little ones to build sandcastles and explore. The hard-packed sand is perfect for searching for shells, jogging , skim boarding, whiffle ball or bocce.
Biddeford Pool offers privacy, convenience, and beauty. You can pick up groceries and lobster at Pool Lobster at Goldthwaite’s 1.5 miles down the beach or outsource the cooking entirely and enjoy fish tacos or a burger looking at the sailboats and old stone lighthouse. Shop for keepsakes at Between the Tides gift shop and send your post cards from the local post office. For birders and hikers, East Point Audubon sanctuary offers a short but beautiful walking path with spectacular views.. In July & August you can book a trip to tour the Woods Island Lighthouse, right off Biddeford Pool!
There is no need to leave the beach, but if you do want some city fun, 5 miles from the house you have the vibrant city of Biddeford Maine. Biddeford is a mill city just 18 minutes south of Portland. There are new and popular restaurants, breweries, distilleries and book shops waiting to be explored. Grab a drink at the Lobby Bar at the Lincoln Hotel and then enjoy dinner along Main Street. If history is your thing, the restored mill buildings offer tours highlighting how Biddeford has changed over hundreds of years. Then get a little homemade ice cream to recharge afterward! Kennebunkport is also less than 10 miles away offering almost endless restaurants, souvenir shops and natural beauty.
