We enjoyed our 12 night stay at the blue house in the woods. There was a lot of rain but the long private road still allowed pretty walks and exercise for our dog when we didn’t venture out to hike on the really rainy days. The big front porch was our favorite space. The babbling brook was calming, and most of the cooking was on the gas grill. Distance from the parking to the house is not conducive to wheels so manage carry loads accordingly.
My husband, daughter, and family dog had a great week here. We met up with other family staying in the area and enjoyed hiking and Lake Chatuge despite almost constant rain. The house is charming and the setting is serene. Our host was enthusiastic and easy to contact. It was a great vacation and we hope to book here again in the future.
This is a hidden gem. Out of the hustle and bustle. Quiet and extremely peaceful. Karin was a wonderful host, always responded when I had a question. This little house was perfect for our vacation. We spent our days on Lake Chatuge and spent our evenings enjoying the sound of the creek and nature. A week stay just wasn't long enough. Our pups enjoyed it just as much as we did!
The cabin was very nice. The beds were very comfortable. The cabin is secluded but close to everything. I would recommend this cabin for people wanting to get to know the area.
The house is quaint and comfortable. It’s sertled back in the woods so that it seems secluded while being close to the lake and other attractions. Karin is a kind and attentive host! We'll be back!
The little blue house is situated in the heart of the woods with two creeks to enjoy. We enjoyed the sound of the creeks and the birds. My dogs really exploring the woods and creeks.
I would stay here again in a heart beat!

Wonderful Getaway!
Thank you Karin for opening your beautiful home to us (me and my three pointy ear "kids") It felt like home the moment I (we) arrived.
Just a comfortable and relaxing stay. The "kids" loved it.
The stars at night were incredible! We look forward to coming back to visit.

Hi Kathy,
Thanks so much for the nice review. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. The stars are wonderful and the leaves this time of year are spectacular. You and your furry family are certainly welcome here anytime!
Karin was very friendly and easy to work with! We loved every thing about this hideaway house nestled in the woods! We could have sat outside all day near the peaceful babbling brook, but the porch and home were equally inviting and so relaxing! We can't wait to book our next visit here!

Pleasantly surprised
We had a wonderful time staying at your Little Blue House. Our boys enjoyed exploring the woods and trails and we all loved the seclusion. One of the nicest, most well kept and provisioned VRBO rentals we have stayed at. We will definitely be back.

Thank you so much, Mike! I'm glad the boys l;iked the place and thereb are several old trails on the property that were carved out by loggers at the turn of the 20th century. I guess you saw the old log cabin at the foot of the property. That too dates back to 1890's. We have always loved this property because it is so secluded but only a few miles to town. I also want to thank you so much for taking such nice care of the house. We appreciate people like you. Come back and visit during the summer months when you can take advantage of Lake Chatuge. There is a lot to do on that lake! And we have water toys to accompany the house!
