Step off your deck onto a private trailhead into the San Juan National Forest. Pagosa Forest Lodge is a 4-bedroom log cabin sleeping 8 — the kind of place where the group ends up in the hot tub watching deer drift through the meadow, or around the fire pit under some of the darkest skies in Colorado.
WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL • Private trailhead on property into thousands of acres of National Forest • Hot tub with mountain views — open year-round • Outdoor fire pit with seating + s'mores kit • Propane grill on the deck (gas stocked, ready to cook) • Game room with air hockey — kids stay busy for hours • Dark-sky stargazing from the deck • Dog-friendly (2 dogs max, $100 pet fee) • Level 2 EV charger on-site
SLEEPING (sleeps 8) • Bedroom 1: king bed • Bedroom 2: queen bed • Bedroom 3: full bed • Bedroom 4: 2 bunk beds (sleeps 4) • Linens + towels for everyone
INSIDE • Full kitchen — stove, oven, fridge, coffee maker, pots + pans stocked • Pellet-burning stove heats the great room all day • Smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ • Dedicated workspace with 50+ Mbps WiFi (remote-work friendly) • Mini-split A/C in the main room + central heating • Compact washer/dryer (no oversized bedsheets — too large for the drum) • Note: no dishwasher — hand-wash only
OUTSIDE • Private hot tub, fire pit, propane grill • Trailhead on property — hike, snowshoe, or just wander • Plenty of parking (AWD/4WD recommended Dec–Mar) • Covered deck — dry even in snow
LOCATION • 20 min to downtown Pagosa Springs (coffee, Riff Raff Brewing) • 20 min to Pagosa Hot Springs (world's deepest geothermal) • 45 min to Wolf Creek Ski Area (480"/year avg snowfall — most in the US) • 1.5 hr to Mesa Verde National Park • Driveway is well-maintained gravel — AWD/4WD recommended in winter
GOOD TO KNOW • Water: the cabin runs on a cistern (delivered by truck, not piped in). Plenty for normal use — just skip 30-minute showers and run full laundry loads. Helps us avoid an unplanned water delivery during your stay. • Wildlife: deer and elk are daily visitors. Bears occasionally pass through — keep food indoors and trash lidded. • EV charging: ~$5–$10/day based on usage ($0.12/kWh), billed after your stay.

We stayed at this cabin mid November and everything worked out great. Place was easy to get into and it was nice being on a private location. The cabin was really clean and everything worked. It was nice having the balcony outside with the chairs and the tables to hang out or sit in the hot tub and look at at the mountains. We will definitely stay here again.
celebrating my nieces 11th birthday. Views are breathtaking and Home is gorgeous, spacious, clean and comfortable. Hot tub and air hockey were nice touches and many useful amenities much appreciated. Hosts were very communicative and accommodating.
This is a great property with a fantastic view. Everything was well maintained and cared for with good consideration to decor and function. The only very minor issues we experienced were the back door not opening and some of the weeds could have been mowed, but otherwise everything was great!
