My wife and I enjoyed a week here and we couldn’t be happier. The camp is well equipped, clean and comfortable. If you’re looking for a lake camp near Norway, I highly recommend this wonderful property
Beautiful place to stay at one of the most beautiful settings in Maine. The house was clean, every amenity was accounted for, and clear instructions for everything. The owner was fantastic with working with me on everything. Zero complaints. Only compliments.
This property is gorgeous, clean, well kept and we'll supplied. We spent a very comfortable week here and didn't want to leave! We will definitely keep this in mind for our next sand pond escape.
Our family gathered from all over the US for a wedding in Norway, Maine! Seven of us stayed at this beautiful house on Sand Pond! This venue was immaculate, very comfortable, well furnished, and our host Meredith was responsive to our questions. Wish we had time to stay longer!!
5 stars all around!!!

Thank you, Kathy! Norway is such a beautiful place for a wedding, and we’re so glad you chose Sand Pond for your stay!
The lakehouse is lovely! Beautiful sunny screened in porch where one can play games or just read and relax. Meredith has the house stocked with anything you may need, but forgot to bring. The house is very clean and well organized. The lakes shore is Rocky, but not reedy or mucky. The water is so clear you can see the fish around the dock. There is a ladder on the end of the dock which helps with entering the water. The loons serenaded us from time to time. I would recommend this beautiful home to anyone looking for a lakeside vacation.
It was a good time had by all. Kids were entertained by the fishing and water fun. Home was absolutely gorgeous and we didn’t need a thing. Can’t wait to go back and take the bunk house too. Till next year. Joan

We're so glad you had fun and we look forward to welcoming you back! Thanks for taking such good care of everything!
This house was the perfect place for our family of 4 adults and three children. The layout worked well with parents and children upstairs and grandparents in the bedroom downstairs. The house is right on a beautiful serene pond with plenty of boats to use, a dock to access swimming and to sit on for sunsets. There were so many other features that made our vacation there one of the most memorable. Meredith, the owner, was immediately available by text for any questions we had. The kitchen had everything we needed. Early mornings and evenings on the screened in porch made it a great extension of our living space. There were even loons calling in the distance. We are already planning our vacation there next year.

We are so glad you enjoyed your vacation and look forward to hosting you and your family again!
We booked this house in conjunction with visiting day at a nearby summer camp. A great decision! Sand Lake is perfect -- quiet, the perfect temperature for swimming, private, and pristinely clean. And the house itself is new and thoughtfully designed and equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed and the house was furnished comfortably, with care and taste. Best of all: the spacious screened-in porch where we could relax, dine, and converse without fear of bug bites. Our whole family enjoyed swimming off the new and modern dock and swimming float, and getting out on the lake in the provided canoe and kayaks (complete with life jackets of various sizes). One caveat: the shoreline is rocky and drops off rapidly, perhaps making it not the best for families with babies or toddlers. But the 4-year-old in our party had a blast bobbing around in her floaties. The homeowner was instantly and cheerfully responsive to questions that came up during our stay.
This beautifully appointed waterfront home made our summer vacation one that was unforgettable!
The space accommodated six adults and two children (six & seven years old). The children slept upstairs with their parents in one bedroom room and a grandparent in the other upstairs bedroom. My husband and I slept in the lower bedroom, and our son on the pullout in the downstairs living room. The entire home was exceptionally clean and well-decorated.
We loved everything about the inside of the home from the modern kitchen including everything we would ever need for grilling and meal preparation, to the screened-in porch where we gathered for family meals and games. The set of double sliders to the porch allows for a terrific breeze day and night. There are several family games to use, a pair of binoculars for bird (or children) watching, a badminton set, a pair of walkie-talkies, a Weber grill, and oodles of various sizes of life jackets and water noodles.
Meredith was very helpful and always just a text away should we need anything.
The location of the home steps away from Sand Pond is very clean and quiet. We particularly enjoyed the many kayak options and the swimming platform. We cherished our final night making smores while sitting around the fire pit. The early morning hours were spent sitting on the dock sipping coffee and listening to the birds and croaking frogs!
This was our first VRBO experience and it was truly delightful!

Laura, we are so happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay! Thank you for taking such good care of the house during your visit - we really appreciate it. Sending best wishes for a great rest of your summer!
We live in Maine and chose Norway for our home-away-from-home because of its proximity to so many of Maine's natural wonders and outdoor adventures. We love our lake and our home and are so happy to be able to invite others to rest, recharge, explore, and get to know Norway and the many activities and beautiful surroundings. Our lake water is clean, offers great fishing, and is private-access only, so there are no large boats to avoid if you'd like to swim the length. Our private entry is sandy and rocky with no muck to wade through, and you can jump right off the primary dock or dive from our swim dock into deep water.
Why they chose this property
The Town of Norway offers excellent year-round dining, shopping and outdoor activities. Within minutes of our lake home, you can enjoy a walk down historic Main Street for phenomenal gelato or poutine, visit art and book stores, and shop for Maine-made goods, then go antiquing, hiking, mountain-biking, sledding, snow-shoeing, xc- or downhill-skiing, or take a trip to the Oxford Casino or Racetrack.
After all that activity, you can then relax at our peaceful house on a private dirt lane, listen to the haunting call of the resident loons, star-gaze in the dark nights, go on a twilight paddle or take a dip in the lake. You can play badminton and games in the yard or roast marshmallows over the firepit. You can dine, read and relax in the screened-in porch. You can fully unwind.
What makes this property unique
Our home is newly-built and is designed to let the light pour in. Our home is bright and clean. All appliances are new, modern and energy-efficient. The kitchen is fully-stocked, from waffle-maker to popcorn popper, and the propane grill is ready for your bbq. We have a spectacular screened-in porch that extends the living area, so you can be outdoors for dinner, reading, or sleeping without worry of black-flies or mosquitoes.
The driveway can accommodate 4+ cars, and we use it for badminton and frisbee. We ask for quiet outside by 9pm to preserve the serenity of the neighborhood, but you can use the Smart TV and Internet for later-night entertainment. There are multiple kayaks, including sit-in, sit-on, a two-person, a paddleboard and a fishing canoe, all ready for your use, along with life-jackets for everyone.
The 1st floor bed/bath and easy walk to the lake are designed to be accessible for those with falling concerns, and black-out curtains upstairs help with toddler (or adult!) naps. The TV is located in the upstairs sitting room to encourage conversation, games and family time in the primary downstairs living area. We love our home and know you will love it too.
