Let me be clear, I have never left a bad review for a VRBO property and I have been using this app for well over 4 years. My husband and I travel often and prefer not to stay in hotels. This property was far and away the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed in my life. The description did not leave out photographs of the taxidermy in the cabin. Being a WV girl, I’m more than used to seeing taxidermy and I know the pride it can give a person when it’s done properly. What the property owners did leave out is how many dead and stuffed animals were in the cabin, how many photographs of bloodied kills are on the walls by the beds, and how absolutely filthy this place was. Honestly, I could’ve quickly gotten over the dead animal carcasses but what I can’t accept or tolerate is spending any amount of time in a place that has sweat stained mattresses, dead bugs all over the floor, a dirty toilet and sink, and a couch that clearly hasn’t been scrubbed or cleaned since 1995. This property should be listed strictly for those that want to use it as a hunting cabin but not as a place to bring the family or to spend a romantic weekend with your spouse. What’s unfortunate is the cabin itself could be a real show stopper if it was cleaned properly and redecorated a little more tastefully. The area it is in is a beautiful place and is very quiet, which we did enjoy. If I could give the property cleanliness less than 1 star, I would.
I only stayed one day out of the three days. I informed the guy he never got back to me. I was stuck in a snowstorm. I had to get my daughter to come and pick me up after one day so I’d be able to make it home. He never let me know about how the roads were up there. I had a walk up the hill in the snow I couldn’t even get to the cabin, I reached out to him several times I got stuck up in the neighbor pulled me out. He never responded to me back at all just before I went there so after one day, my daughter came and got me I left. I would like a refund for two days I’m sending you also all of my conversation with him where you’ll see he didn’t answer back , the man that pulled me out said that he’s like that and that he wanted some money from me for pulling me out but I didn’t have it. This was my second stay here. The first day was in December but there was no snow I delayed my trip a day and let him know ahead of time and that was fine. He was giving me the extra day. He didn’t tell me how the roads were up there that I had a walk up the hill and snow And I got stuck up. I will be sending you my conversation with him.
A perfect size cabin for a couple or a close knit hunting as well as fishing group. Everything you would need for a get away in the woods close to a lake. Steps were a little rickety from the parking area to porch and lights that worked were few and far between. Other than that everything was there for a getaway just not the best place for those with mobility issues. Stairs to the loft which were all built better than the one’s coming on the porch.
The property manager was definitely very helpful with putting up a banner and the 12 year anniversary. Definitely appreciated everything that was done to the place and the location. And definitely looking forward to be renting it again in the future. Loved It….
