The host was very responsive and helpful, quick to respond to any questions. The house was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Very well-equipped kitchen and lots of thoughtful touches throughout.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Treehouse! It’s such a unique and peaceful property, and we especially appreciated how pet-friendly it was — our two dogs felt right at home. Most of the major amenities met our expectations, and the space had a lot of charm. However, we did notice that the property wasn’t as clean as we had hoped. There were several areas that showed signs of long-term dust buildup, cobwebs, and dirty footprints on the floors. We also noticed mold or algae growth on the exterior walls, and unfortunately, even found a small frog that had passed away in one of the bathrooms. The biggest concern was the mold growth in the master shower. Once we brought it to the host’s attention, they responded quickly and kindly refunded part of the cleaning fee to make things right, which we really appreciated.Overall, the Treehouse is a beautiful place with a lot of potential — we’d love to return in the future once the cleaning issues have been addressed.

Hi Jamie, Thanks for your feedback about the mold dots you experienced in the master shower area. While our cleaners have earned high marks on the 100s of stays we host every year, we missed the mark based on your feedback. Rest assured, the exterior of the home is being power washed in the off season as the wet environment requires a yearly scrub of the north side of the house having the trees, and the late fall is the only time to do so. I've never had anyone discover a small frog in 21 years of owning the home, but it's not part of the Corolla wildlife (unlike the horses ;) we like to introduce guests to. I'm sorry that we weren't able to deliver the consistently high experience our other guests experienced, and I welcome the chance to earn back your trust. Enjoy your travels!

Loved it here!

Staying at this Corolla beach house late October and early November 2024 for our wedding weekend and honeymoon was the best! It really did feel like staying in a treehouse. It was the most amazing experience. We loved the layout of this house. There are so many levels of stairs (we didn’t mind this; we got good exercise lol), but for those who have difficulty walking up and down stairs, this is not for you. Kids would love this place. It feels like a jungle gym. The hot tub and pool are awesome, although we really didn’t get to use the pool much. We did not opt for it to be heated though, so if you visit in fall or winter be sure to have the pool heated. The neighborhood is in the perfect location. Nice and close to Monterey Plaza which we went to basically every day since around this time of year most areas are closed. The public beach access recommended by Matt is a wonderful area with beautiful light colored sand and long beaches. There is no bathroom at this access but I think they just started building a feet washing station when we were there. The parking lot is across the street. Recommend biking or driving to the beach. There is a pier 2 minutes walk from the property that is very beautiful. There is another one by the clubhouse. That one is great as well. Best to bike to it. Matt was quick to address some issues in the house we needed fixed. He is a very fast responder and he is awesome! We had the best experience here and 100% will go back here!
