We loved the location, out in the country. Beautiful setting. Lovely back yard where we watched the leaves change colors. Our host, Karen, was so very responsive. In addition, because of our longer stay, Karen was so helpful in responding to our requests.Cleary Lake Park nearby was a great spot for afternoon walks. A brand new Walmart is 15 minutes away. Easy access to 35W and lots of shopping options.Highly recommend!

It was an absolute pleasure hosting this couple while awaiting the completion of their new home. From the moment they arrived, they were considerate and respectful, treating our property as if it were their own. Their communication was prompt and clear, making coordination effortless. We are thrilled to have been a part of their transitional journey. Wishing them all the best in their beautiful new home!
So many comforts and conveniences of home! Never underestimate the value of a well placed night light! Or a cozy polar fleece throw! Lovely setting! Helpful , responsive host!
This was our second time staying with Karen, and we love this home! It is cozy, comfortable, and has all of the accommodations we need to have a great stay while visiting family. We would recommend, and would stay again!
Cozy, comfortable stay in the lower portion of the host home. Lovely kitchen area, bathroom , and living area with privacy of its own entrance and exit.
Karen's house is a wonderful property, clean, well maintained and stocked. It left nothing to be desired, especially since after arriving I found a nice welcome present in form of a fruit basket with additional treats in the kitchen. Located in a beautiful setting it was perfect for where I wanted to go during my stay. The peaceful surroundings allowed me to reflect and relax. I certainly appreciated the hospitality and will stay there again when the opportunity arises.
This is a great place to stay just outside of the busy city. The owner provided all of the amenities including coffee and tea options and a nice little gift basket filled with fruit and other goodies. The only complaint that we have is that the bed was a little hard for our liking but everything else was very nice. Loved the arcade games and pool table!
This is a nice place and very peaceful. The only challenge is getting around to the back side of the house. There was no snow on the ground when we went but this could be slippery in the winter.
This is a great walk-out basement apartment that has a kitchen, dining room, den/game area, bathroom, and bedroom. It was a little noisy during the first day (Saturday), but I messaged the owner and the problem resolved. I will definitely book this again in the future.

Thank you for the kind review. Yes, moving scaffolding to paint can be a bit noisy. DIY project at its finest :)
Karen's home in the country was the perfect place to stay while we visited family for Thanksgiving. Check-in was easy. We had a place to park in the front of the house and an easy-to-use private entrance in the back. The full kitchen stocked with tea and coffee allowed us to eat a good breakfast in the morning. At night, we watched TV on the couch in front of the fireplace and had a comfortable bed to sleep in. The bedroom had a big closet with hangers provided and had extra sheets, blankets, and towels already stocked. We did play a few rounds of Ms. Pac-man and Galaga on the arcade machine, but we did not have time to play pool. We would definitely book again!
My husband and I needed temporary lodging as we waited for the closing of our new home in a nearby location. This location worked great for us. It was very clean and had lots of room to hold our car load of possessions we arrived with. It was very quiet in the neighborhood with low traffic. We arrived in March, so we found the fireplace very cosy and helpful in the evenings. I also appreciated the well stocked and roomy kitchen with full size fridge. Our host was also very helpful, coming home during the day from work to help us work out how to use the vacuum. My only caution for those who consider renting is to remember that this is a basement apartment and light sleepers will need to take into account that the upstairs residents are up for work during weekdays. This was no problem for us, but for those light sleepers who want to sleep in, it may be a problem to hear others up and walking around.

Listing needs more details
The hostess was very nice, but there a couple of things that ought to be added to description.
Location of entry door is unclear. You park on the driveway, then have to walk on the lawn to go halfway around the house to find it, so it makes carrying luggage difficult. I think renters should be made aware of this ahead of time. I was on crutches, so very difficult for me.
Also, this is a Christian home and definitely needs to be mentioned in listing, because on the walls of rental are several scriptures that have been painted on, a huge painting/drawing of a bleeding Christ on the cross, and an an actual small cross with the figure of Christ on it. I know there are many who would be fine with this, but there are also many who would not; it just needs to be noted in listing. If we had known, we would not have booked there. We were uncomfortable with it, and added to the difficulty of access for me on crutches, we cancelled our stay and went to a hotel. The hostess graciously requested a refund for a part of our stay, which she did not have to do, so we are thankful for that.

Our VRBO listing shows pictures of the guest entrance and also Christian pictures on the wall. The image the guest is referring to is Calvary by the artist Octavio Ocampo who produces compelling, masterfully composed images using optical illusions. The welcome email that is sent 3 days in advance also states the guest entrance is on the south side of our home and that the guest may access it either to the east on the lawn with a slight incline or to the west with steps from our deck. With the guest on crutches, we believe she should have contacted us in advance to make sure that our home could accommodate her. We will take our guest's advice and make sure to mention in our listing that our home is a Christian home although we thought it would be clear in the pictures. May God bless you.
