Spacious all one floor Villa with Pool and Tropical Gardens In Jan Thiel

Very private luxury villa on oversized lot in oceanfront neighborhood located 15 min east of Willemstad in the Jan Thiel area. It has grown to become the most desirable upscale beachfront neighborhood in Curacao. Very laid back residential style but with a full leisure service infrastructure. The house is located 300 yards from the beach.

There you'll find two beaches (dive school and catamaran sailing), five restaurants (ranging from beach bar style to fine dining), coffee+gelato shop,boutiques and a gym. There's a 10 mile (world champion) mountain bike trail starting 200yds from the house. Little under a mile the other way (at the inlet) is a marina.

All the while the house serves as your private oasis in the middle of it all. While I would recommend you go see the island and Willemstad, you can equally spend a private resort style resort style vacation just within the walking radius from the house. The house is perfect for a relaxed vacation in beautiful Curacao.


In- and outdoor living: Just like its name implies, Villa Royal is large and beautiful! This modern villa was built just a few years ago on a large plot at Vista Royal. The plot area is well over 2000 m2! The villa has 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and is extremely spacious. And of course, it has all the luxury you would expect.

The living room is large but cozy at the same time. The sliding doors allow you to merge the indoor and outdoor life together. Feel like watching screen television is hooked up to the cable network, which gives you access to countless stations, including all the major US networks.

The kitchen is truly amazing, every little detail has been given attention. All kinds of appliances are at your disposal and the double door refrigerator has plenty of space for large parties. If you enjoy cooking your own meals, the large stove and cooking island make things as easy as it gets.

Huge private pool and location: The icing on the cake is the large pool. It varies in depth and is around 5 by 12 meters in size. The tropical palms surrounding it really make this a perfect Caribbean spot. There's an outdoor shower available to cool off after a nice swim. If you enjoy the sun, go relax and lay down in one of the comfortable beach chairs. The trees and plants surrounding the pool area ensure full privacy

The large garden has many different kinds of palm trees, banana trees and other tropical vegetation.
The whole property is enclosed (6 feet stone wall) for your privacy and security.

Villa Royal is situated in the area Jan Thiel, on the East side of the island. Jan Thiel Beach is at walking distance and the Caracas Bay is two to three minutes by car. The city center of Punda is roughly fifteen minutes away

Scuba Diving in Jan Thiel : Scuba diving is huge in Curacao. Curacao is in the top 10 of best places to dive and it attracts drivers from all over the world. Jan Thiel Diving is only 2 minutes away form the house. The have beginners and advanced courses. Both my kids learned how to dive in 4 days (in 2007) at the Scuba Dive Center and both have been avid divers since then. It is an fun thing to learn and do for the rest of your life.

Beautiful Home!!!

Our family of five adults spent a week in this beautiful home. It was the perfect spot to relax and get away from our snowy, cold winter. Everyone had their own en-suite which was wonderful. We loved the openness and outdoor living areas. Right from the first contact with the owner everything went smooth and we felt taken care of. The home is in an upscale residential area very close to the beach and restaurants. We are beach walkers so that was a little disappointing because the beach was not one that you could walk on. Bringing bug spray is a must! The island is beautiful and the weather was perfect. If you are looking for a place that is upscale and you want to just kick back and relax, this is the place. One big plus for our adult children was the bar within walking distance to the house. They loved it!

Lovely Villa!

Lovely Villa! Our group of eight scuba divers thoroughly enjoyed staying in this villa. Very comfortable, well appointed, comfortable beds, plenty of towels along with pool towels, beautiful outdoor area. One of our top priorities when deciding on a vacation rental is the outdoor area. This property is wonderful. Plenty of lounge chairs around the pool along with an outdoor dining table that we utilized every day for every meal. And in between meals it was used for completing dive logs, checking email, etc. Do bring bug spray as the mosquitoes can be a bit ferocious.

Perfect Getaway

My family of 6 stayed in this villa for our week in Curacao. The location was wonderful. The market, Jan Thiel beach were in walking distance. The area felt very safe. The villa was gorgeous. It had plenty of room for us to spread out. The refrigerator broke shortly before we arrived, but the property manager was on top of it, and had moved it out of the way and brought in a replacement which had ample room for us. The villa has a lovely pool, which we used every day and was cleaned 2 times while we were there. The house has an open floor plan to catch the ocean breezes, and air conditioning in each bedroom to stay cool at night. There are lots of mosquitoes so bring bug spray; we used citronella bands which helped a lot. The kitchen was equipped, we didn't need anything that wasn't provided. There were plenty of outlets and adapters throughout the house, however I had also brought an surge protector to charge all our devices. The wifi was great in the house, but a little spotty outside. The villa had everything we needed for a fabulous vacation.

Exquisite home perfectly located

We stayed with 4 adults, 2 you children and a teenager. Everyone loved the house. It was well laid our for us. The pool was surprisingly large. We have stayed on the island before. Jan Thiel is the perfect location to be near the beach, food shopping and many things to do. I've stayed many places and this was the best!

Gorgeous, private and perfectly located property

Searching for our vacation destination was largely determined by this property. The location was central to all of the beaches, shops and activities you could want on a vacation. The rental process was easy and communication was great throughout the booking process, upon arrival and during checkout. There were 4 adults and we went slightly over our electric allowance for the week but only resulted in an extra $10 charge. The pool was amazing. Perfect refreshment from the warm sun after a day at Kokomo Beach, atv exploration of the island, a day off-shore fishing with Captain Gordo or shopping at the port. Open living at its finest, don't forget to pack bug spray. There are mosquitos! Boasae is an amazing dinning experience and the best on the island, definitely a must!! The house was well stocked with towels for showers and the beach. We cooked some breakfast and lunches and had everything we needed in the kitchen to do so. Our only complaint-our vacation ended. We loved our January 21-28, 2017 stay, another VRBO vacation success.

Beyond amazing

Three couples spent a week diving and always rent a house rather than hotel rooms. This place was beyond amazing. The pool is big and clean, the rooms are outstanding and the rest of the house is well appointed. I cannot say enough good about the place. Once you get your bearings, it is an easy drive to town or grocery. There is a great sushi restaurant just down the street. The 6 of us have rented houses on other islands before but this on takes first prize

A Tropical Paradise

This house exceeded our expectations! The bedrooms and common areas are all very spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed, the ambiance one of pure delight and relaxation. For a family of 7, we had ample space to hang out together. From the veranda you look out onto a tropical paradise of desert like plantings surrounding a good sized in-ground pool large enough for laps. The owner was very easy to work with and very responsive; the property manager was available to us whenever we needed him. We felt very well taken care of. The kitchen is superbly equipped. The villa is conveniently located in the neighborhood of Jan Thiel where you can find a lovely Dutch supermarket, restaurants right on the water, bars, etc. Good for the young crowd as well…We've returned home with wonderful memories of our stay at this villa!

Amazing outdoor space

I rented the home and SUV for an extended family of seven. We were delayed by mechanical issues with our flight. We were scheduled to arrive at 8PM, but when we actually arrived after midnight the driver was there and they property manager met us at the home to check us in. They had just installed a beautiful new refrigerator and although they we're having issues with the ice maker and minor issues with a light in the bedroom and one of the shutters, everything was explained. The home is as described in the listing. We loved the pool and back yard area. We kept the house open to the outdoors when we were home. We ran the dishwasher, and washing machine daily and the bedroom air conditioners at night and had no issue with the electricity allowance. It's an easy walk to the beach, a grocery store, a wonderful restaurant called The Pier or to a catamaran sailing trip. We also did excursions with SUP and ATV Buggy Tours. They both picked us up at the home. The owner is excellent at returning emails and answering questions. A great time was had by all.

Simply Perfect

Six of us celebrating a milestone travelled recently to Jan Theil for a week of fun and relaxation. We could not have been happier with our choice of accommodation. The location was perfect, the house was everything it said it would be and more and we had the benefit of having a vehicle to travel around the Island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the service we received from both Jolanda and the property manager, Arends, could not have been better. We would recommend this house to anyone looking to vacation in the Jan Theil area. It exceeded all of our expectation and if the opportunity ever presents itself we will certainly be back! Zeer mooie villa, op top locatie!

Het contact met Jolanda verliep zeer vlot en de huur van de villa was dan ook snel geregeld. Wij verbleven hier met 8 jong volwassenen voor een periode van 11 dagen. Niets, maar dan ook niets van de beschrijving is gelogen. De villa is schoon, zeer luxe en van alle gemakken voorzien: 4 slaapkamers, 4 badkamers, uitgebreide keuken, privé zwembad, carport, kluis, bbq en een goed afsluitbaar hek. Dit is de ideale villa om de vakantie in door te brengen, met een reisgezelschap van meer dan 4 personen. Er is genoeg ruimte en iedereen behoudt zijn privacy. Arend, de eigenaar, stond ons netjes op te wachten en heeft ons rondgeleid en bijgestaan waar nodig. Het contact verliep erg prettig. Papagayo, Zanzibar en de Albert Heijn liggen op nog geen 250 meter van de villa. De Albert Heijn is elke dag tot 8 uur open dus dat is ideaal. De dichtbijgelegen beachclubs zijn erg gezellig en beide voorzien van een mooi zandstrand. Woning werd opgeleverd met linnenpakket. Deze werden halverwege ons verblijf verschoond en tevens werden we voorzien van nieuwe handdoeken. Het verblijf in de villa is ons zeer goed bevallen. Mochten we nog een keer naar Curaçao komen, dan zullen we niet ongetwijfeld weer voor deze villa kiezen. Jolanda en Arend, hartstikke bedankt voor het fijne verblijf!

Perfect House

The house is perfect and beautiful. It is in a perfect and save location. Supermarket is just around the corner as well as the beach. It couldn't be any better. We went with the whole family and and grandma. It is easy to get around the house since there are no stairs. Nice decorated rooms. Love the openness of the house big doors and windows. The owner and manager where very nice as well and helpful. We will totally come back again.

Perfect island getaway!

We came as a large group of 8 adults and this spacious villa provided us with everything we were looking for during our stay. Jolanda was very responsive to emails and I can't say enough positive things about our trip. The rooms were gorgeous and gave each couple a sense of privacy, and everything was very chic and modern. The outdoor sitting area was perfect for cozy nights when you're looking to relax and feel the soft island breeze. The beach was only a few minutes away (walking!) along with a large supermarket for all your shopping needs. There were also four great restaurants to choose from, especially Zanzibar where you can dine in your swim suit and then go back to the beach. The area is very safe and the people could not be friendlier! We highly recommended renting a car and traveling around the island, where we visited different beaches and the capital city of Willemstad. At the end of the day, however, we could not wait to get back to the villa to relax in the pool and grill some barbecue. We will definitely be coming back and would recommended this to everyone!

Outstanding residence - only superlatives

Our group consisted of 8 adults and 1 kid. The rental procedure went very smoothly and even though we arrived late the property manager was present to hand over the keys and show us the premises. The house is well kept and spacious, the swimming pool is beautiful and the garden is large with nice landscaping. In addition the following should be highlighted: - Having a separate bath in each room is a major plus with a larger group. - The veranda is large and excellent for gatherings. It was a pleasure spending the vacation at such nice place.

Villa Royal was a picture perfect vacation.

From the beginning the owner was helpful and responsive to our emails. She was very easy to work with and made the transaction effortless. Our party of four arrived late in the evening but the property manager Arend was there to greet us. We used the grocery service to order fresh food, milk, etc. and Arend had the fridge stocked when we arrived – there is no extra charge for this helpful service. The home was exceptionally clean and the gardens and pool were very well kept and maintained. The kitchen is nicely appointed with plenty of dishware, glasses, pots, pans and serving implements to make preparing meals a pleasure. All of the appliances were modern and in good working order throughout out the home. The master bedroom is large and all the beds were very comfortable. We found the home to be relaxing, it was especially nice to sit in the living room with the sliding glass doors open and the evening breeze flowing through the home. We also enjoyed returning home to take a dip in the pool following the day’s activities. The home is within walking distance to beaches, restaurants, dive center and shopping including a well stocked supermarket. We had no problems staying within the allotted electricity allowance, using the air conditions to make sleeping easy and comfortable. The outside table was perfect for evening meals and we used the barbeque in the garden as well. Future visits to Curacao will include additional stays at the Villa Royal.

HUGE Villa, Amazing Pool, Beautiful Landscaping

We had a group of 5 people, who used 3 of the 4 bedrooms. We could not believe how nice the villa was upon arrival. The pictures are close to doing it justice, but seeing it in person is much better! Arend, the property manager was wonderful and friendly. He delivered on everything he said he would. I recommend taking him up on helping with taxis from airport to villa. Definitely take bug spray as we encountered mosquitoes throughout the week. The Pool was so nice, and a must with the Curacao heat. I would recommend this property without hesitation!

Loved it! Want to go back.

We loved our stay here. We were a group of 8 women sharing all four rooms and it was perfect. Jolanda was super helpful in the booking. Arend was a great contact on the ground. They helped us book airport transfer in a van that held us all ($80usd but worth it not to have to rent a car). The grocery store and beach are in walking distance as are restaurants, two spas, the drop off location for a catamaran snorkeling tour and a little shopping. The bus stop is also nearby and for less than $2usd it'll take you straight to Willemstad, the Sea Aquarium and other beaches. You can get a list of stops from the resort across the street. We did as the other reviewers suggested and used door and window breezes during the day and only turned on the AC at night and that worked fine for us. No complaints. We were also grateful for the bug spray though some of us got bit more than others. And during the day we worked together on our computers and the wifi connection was stellar. Not a single issue even with 8 users on at the same time plus cell phones. I was also able to Facetime the kids every night and never lost my connection. The pictures are accurate (the villa and rooms are gorgeous) and everything was as the ad said it was. Maybe even nicer. We'll definitely return.

Wonderful Group Getaway

Our group of four couples thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villa. The pictures don't lie--the villa and the grounds are absolutely stunning. The property is well maintained and very clean. The bedrooms are comfortable and we all appreciated that we had our own bathrooms. The kitchen is well appointed and stocked with everything you need. We really enjoyed our days and evenings spent under the covered patio enjoying meals and drinks. The pool is so nice---large, clean and well maintained. We took full advantage of spending as much time as we could floating around on the foam noodles and even bought a ball and played like kids. LOL. The barbecue area is really nice too. While we did have a good number of meals at the villa we did like that the location is so good so that you can walk down to the restaurants on Jan Thiel Beach. A must do after dinner is to enjoy a gelato if you are in that area. The grocery store is a short walk from the villa and has everything you will need. Love the cheese and sausages they stock there. The area is beautiful and we felt totally comfortable and safe and enjoyed morning walks around the neighbourhood. The property manager Arend is wonderful. He was always available to answer questions or help us out in any way. Curacao is a beautiful island and we wish we had seen and explored more. The vacation was primarily to relax and just unwind and that is exactly what we did and the villa certainly did that for us. I would also like to say that the Jolanda, the owner, is very quick to respond to any inquiries and offers such great advice so that you get the most out of your stay in Curacao. I would recommend this property to any families or groups looking for the perfect get away. Thank you again to Jolanda and Arend for making this such a wonderful holiday. I look forward to returning and recommending this property to my friends and co-workers.

A Very Enjoyable Vacation

Tremendous space at this property! We loved the property, especially the covered decks and pool area. A great property for larger families or group of friends. Owner and property manager were very helpful and pleasant. Would definitely visit again if we were to return to Curacao.

Great Accommodation

Four of us (two couples) enjoyed six days at Villa Royal. The owner was efficient and great to deal with - promptly replying to my initial inquiry about availability and then quickly responding to questions about the property and surrounding area. The agent on-site was helpful and pleasant. Villa Royal is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and exceptionally well stocked with crockery/glassware/cutlery and utensils. The garden, pool and patios are truly spectacular. The careful thought that evidently went into their design and landscaping has resulted in a wonderful setting for outdoor living. There was no issue at all with the electricity usage. The Jan Thiel beach area is nice but a little too built up for our taste. However, this is a terrific property and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it to anyone.
