Pet-Friendly Paradise

Bring along your furry companions (1 or 2 dogs allowed with prior approval) to share in the adventure! A fee of $100 is charged per dog and agreement to crate them when no one is home with them, ensuring their safety and your peace of mind. (Sorry, we don't allow cats due to allergies.)

Your Home Away From Home

With a maximum occupancy of four to five persons, this cozy cabin ensures your comfort while maintaining environmental sustainability. Please be mindful that our well and septic system necessitates adherence to this limit (not connected to public services). We have recently upgraded to Fiber Optic Cable based communication services for better internet, TV and phone options.

Summer Haven was perfect for our girls weekend getaway. The cabin was immaculately clean, very spacious and comfortable; the kitchen well-stocked. Melinda was very responsive to a minor issue with the front door key pad. We will definitely return. It’s wonderful!

The Absolute Best

This was our best experience at any type of rental property. The home was just as it was projected - well-appointed, spacious, clean, comfortable, and located in a wonderful spot. The rocking chairs on the porch overlooking the forest was a bonus. We were there primarily for hiking and outdoor enjoyment. The area is rich in opportunities. We took advantage of a variety of food choices and shopping a few minutes drive away in Brevard. The owner has provided a well thought out opportunity here. This is a comfortable and convenient property. We will be back!

The cottage was everything and more of what we remembered from a stay 7 years ago. The owner was kind enough to insure we could manipulate the driveway, bringing in sand and shoveling some ice. So thoughtful. Thanks, Melinda for sharing and caring. We'll be back!

We all agree it was so peaceful we just didn't want to leave the porch. The house was beautifully decorated and well cared for and we thank you. Our biggest regret wea that we had to leave.

I believe we have stayed here four times now and we will be back again. Can’t beat the location for riding DuPont or Pisgah. Great food at cedar mtn cafe and away from all the humans in Brevard.

Anniversary Trip

My husband and I wanted a place close to Dupont National Forest to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary. This was the perfect spot. Great location and so comfy & cozy. It was just us, so we closed off the other two bedrooms and just slept in the king room.The bed was amazing. After hiking and mountain biking all day, it was so comfortable, like sleeping at our own house. It was well stocked and very clean. We hope to bring our kids back and do another trip again soon. The owner was easy to reach and check in was easy. You do not have cell service, but having the land line to give out to our family worked great and WIFI was good enough so we could facetime out and still work a little from our laptops. It was a great location too. The Creekside Cafe just a few mins down the road was yummy for breakfast and dinner, and you are right across the street from the Dupont entrance. We will were able to hike and then go back home for lunch. We loved it! It was a much needed kid free weekend.

Beautiful, QUIET and perfect location! So quiet and peaceful to just sit and relax. Outdoorsy and want activity? 10 minutes away from several locations. Not too far from "city life" and shopping. House is immaculate with everything plus more.that you need. Will definitely want to come back! You won't go wrong here! Thanks for a lovely time!

Why they chose this property

This location has a wonderful long history, a beautiful historic outdoor chapel is our closest neighbor and there are many wild places to explore within just a short drive. This is a paradise location where you can play outdoors year 'round.

What makes this property unique

This is such a quiet and peaceful spot. I love walking the dogs down the road to a little creek with a swimming hole just big enough for cooling them off. Being able to ride your bike from the home to go mountain biking or cycling for the day is amazing. And we couldn't ask for nicer neighbors!
