About this property

Private charming Mountainside Cabin near The Pisgah National Forest.

Cabin #1, known as “Bear Ridge View”, is located on 64 privately-owned acres atop Mine Mountain, which is approximately ten minutes from the entrance to the National Pisgah Forest. The cabin is modern yet rustic and contains two bedrooms (1 King & 1 Queen), 2 baths, and a modern kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. It also features generous outside decks with an outdoor eating area, wireless internet, Direct TV, a washer and dryer, and a gas grill. Guests can enjoy the solitude of the area while rocking on the covered back porch. This porch, which overlooks Pisgah Forest, features ample seating for large groups, as well as a ceiling fan and variable lighting to guarantee year-round comfort. Bear Ridge View, with its knotty-pine paneling and charming décor featuring a mix of unique antiques and newer pieces, is an ideal cabin for couples or small families.

The efficiency cabin, known as the “Moonshine Shack”, is located adjacent to this cabin and features one large main room, including a kitchenette and sleeping area, as well as one bath and a covered porch. This cabin got its name due to the fact that it was the site of a moonshine operation run by the prior owner. The Moonshine Shack can be rented for an additional fee of $50/nt plus a $25 cleaning fee to provide additional sleeping quarters for the occupants of Bear Ridge. Moonshine Shack is only available to guests that are also renting Bear Ridge. Moonshine Shack does not have wifi but does have Satellite TV.

Our cabins are professionally cleaned and provided with all linens and towels, a starter supply of soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher and laundry detergent, firewood and propane for the grill.

The property was perfect for a relaxing time away. We spent a good majority of our time on the covered deck enjoying the quiet and serene environment and nature! We were close enough to grocery stores to get the essentials and close enough to enjoy downtown Brevard. We loved that the house is very well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with all the appliances and kitchen wares you would need and the beds and pillows were very comfortable for a good night’s rest. Our fur baby Annie probably had the best time. She thoroughly enjoyed viewing and trailing all the wildlife on the mountain!We had a wonderful stay and will definitely consider going back!

Lovely Setting and Comfortable Cabin

This two bedroom cabin is on a beautiful property, and we had gorgeous sunsets with the view wide open with it being winter. It is a quick ride down the mountain to Pisgah. Cabin is cozy and had all we needed for a great getaway.

Retreat from the real world

Such a well maintained cabin off the beaten path. Clean with elegant views and the feeling of being off grid. Has its own little seperate guest house. Enjoy the real wood burning fireplace or the huge outside deck. Just a fantastic place to relax. Plus short drives to parks, waterfalls and majestic little towns like Brevard. This is a 5 star stay!

This was the 2nd time renting this cozy cabin. We enjoyed Thanksgiving last year and it was so wonderful, I rebooked for this past Thanksgiving and my sister and her family rented the other cabin down the road. It was once again a wonderful, homey feeling. Will be back again!!

Excellent Getaway

We LOVED staying at this property - 2 couples enjoying a long weekend getaway. The cabin was great and just as described. The wrap around porch is amazing as is the incredible outdoor sitting area. We really enjoyed watching the sunsets outside while using the comfortable furniture - it really made our stay so much more enjoyable. This property is close to lots of things to do - hiking, waterfalls, shopping, wonderful restaurants and so much more. It is literally on top of the mountain yet it is a reasonable drive up - good idea to arrive before dark on your first trip up. Perfect size for two couples (or three if you add the property next door). It was super cold while we were there yet we could envision how beautiful it would be in the spring and summer. Hope to be back!!

Great Vacation

Wonderful, private, secluded location - surrounded by nature. One of the first things we noticed was how clean everything was. The atmosphere was very cozy, and the furniture was extremely comfortable as were the beds. Loved working in the kitchen! The back porch was a favorite place to visit and enjoy the surrounding forest. It was such a relaxing time for all of us. Everything we needed was provided and then some. The only thing I missed was measuring cups and spoons, but it wasn't a bit deal. We went into Brevard, with the pup, and had a great lunch at Corky's Dawg House. We were able to take the dog inside to order and then enjoy a shaded picnic table outside. Very dog friendly. We went to the downtown section of Brevard and looked around a little. We bought some yummy fudge at Forever Fudge and visited O. P. Taylor's. It was a short visit, but it truly felt like home while we were there. Thank you for sharing your awesome cabin with us.

FANTASTIC!!!!

My partner and I have been coming to WNC for 10 years staying at over 12 rental properties, this being our first time in Brevard. This was one of our favorite trips ever and it started with this property! Location: 5-6 miles to anything in Brevard, it's quick to Dupont, Pisgah and Hendersonville. While so close, when you are at the house, it feels like you are 100s of miles from anyone. We hiked and mountain biked several days, ending with a massage at Elements. House: the wrap around porch is perfect with 2 larger sized decks, one in the sun/one covered. What I found to make this property really special was all the seemingly small touches that showed great care and thoughtfulness - from the snacks in the kitchen to the mouthwash cups in the bathroom to the high quality appliances (best coffeemaker/pots/pans we've had at a rental). The table is great for puzzles, the couches are super comfy. Can't say enough about our experience. We'll be back!

We came as a small group of friends to mountain bike in Pisgah and Dupont, and this cabin was perfect for us! The cabin was only a 10-minute drive to the Hub and about 20 minutes to most of the main trails we biked and hiked. We really enjoyed relaxing in the mornings and evenings out on the deck. It is incredibly scenic at the home, and with our stay being in mid-October, it was peak leaf peeping season! The kitchen was really well equipped and the house had lots of supplies that really make a big difference. Would highly recommend to others!

This secluded mountain getaway was only a short drive from Brevard. The property was spacious, clean, cozy, and fully stocked with everything we needed. I'd like to give a special shoutout to the wrap around deck: we honestly spent most of our time there. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a secluded place to stay in the Brevard/Pisgah forest area.

If I had a VRBO it would be just like this! Generous with items that you might forget to bring! Furnishings were lovely, bedding was great, well stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture and wood burning fireplace. We loved staying in the mountain tree house!! We spent quite a bit of time on the back porch surrounded by trees! It was the perfect location for us to enjoy our visit with our grandson at Brevard. The gravel road leading to the cabin was a bit scary at first, but after a couple trips back and forth it was fine. So quiet and peaceful. We got lucky finding this place and we look forward to coming back!

Wonderful Mountain Retreat

Loved staying in this cabin nestled in the trees! Loved the rustic feel, but with all the modern conveniences. Very close to downtown Brevard, the college and outdoor activities. Will recommend this place to stay!

Great stay

Cabin was as described. We were out most of the time so didn’t use most of the amenities. There is another smaller “cabin” on the property so if that bothers you there’s that. Not sure if that’s available to stay at as well or not. We didn’t have anyone else on the property. Great place to stay while in Brevard!

Mountain Getaway

This is the 6th time we have stayed at this property, and its always been great. The drive up the mountain (and down) may seem long, but its worth it! 360degree decks, peace and quite, and a beautiful space. Easy drive into Brevard or Asheville or Hendersonville, and very convenient to great hiking and waterfalls. We alternate between dining out and cooking in. Sipping some coffee on the back porch as the sun comes up is perfection. (If you like to get up early, that may just be me!)

Extended get away

The house is great. Beds are very comfortable. The house is very well appointed. Easy access to hiking trails. Our dog is welcome, which is a plus. They supply enough firewood for a week. My only complaint is we don't want to leave.Communication with the property manager is easy. Always available to help.

We chose to purchase rental property in the Brevard area due to its proximity to the beautiful scenery, wildlife, outdoor activities (i.e., hiking, fly-fishing, rock climbing, and bike riding, etc.) available in the hundreds of acres of state and national forest in the Blue Ridge Mountains. In addition, Brevard is a charming Appalachian town that offers a thriving music and arts community, as well as fantastic shopping and dining.

What makes this property unique

While a mere 10-15 minute drive to wonderful downtown Brevard area, visitors to this cabin will enjoy a private, secluded haven complete with astonishing views, a beautiful setting atop Mine Mountain, and the potential to see a large variety of the wildlife indigenous to this region (including the unusual white squirrels Brevard is known for).
