About this property
Private charming Mountainside Cabin near The Pisgah National Forest.
Cabin #1, known as “Bear Ridge View”, is located on 64 privately-owned acres atop Mine Mountain, which is approximately ten minutes from the entrance to the National Pisgah Forest. The cabin is modern yet rustic and contains two bedrooms (1 King & 1 Queen), 2 baths, and a modern kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. It also features generous outside decks with an outdoor eating area, wireless internet, Direct TV, a washer and dryer, and a gas grill. Guests can enjoy the solitude of the area while rocking on the covered back porch. This porch, which overlooks Pisgah Forest, features ample seating for large groups, as well as a ceiling fan and variable lighting to guarantee year-round comfort. Bear Ridge View, with its knotty-pine paneling and charming décor featuring a mix of unique antiques and newer pieces, is an ideal cabin for couples or small families.
The efficiency cabin, known as the “Moonshine Shack”, is located adjacent to this cabin and features one large main room, including a kitchenette and sleeping area, as well as one bath and a covered porch. This cabin got its name due to the fact that it was the site of a moonshine operation run by the prior owner. The Moonshine Shack can be rented for an additional fee of $50/nt plus a $35 cleaning fee to provide additional sleeping quarters for the occupants of Bear Ridge. Moonshine Shack is only available to guests that are also renting Bear Ridge. Moonshine Shack does not have wifi but does have Satellite TV.
Our cabins are professionally cleaned and provided with all linens and towels, a starter supply of soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher and laundry detergent, firewood and propane for the grill.

Wonderful stay at cabin. Very clean with all necessities available. Location was just what we were hoping for, surrounded by the forest. Loved the wrap around porch. This one will stay on our list for a return visit.
Very clean and comfortable cabin. Quiet and peaceful location. Directions were very easy to follow. The little snacks left by host were nice touch. Would definitely rent again
The 360 views are amazing! This is our first time renting Bear Mountain as we usually stay at the adjacent property. We love the accessibility, tranquility, and privacy the cabins provide. While both properties are dog friendly, the wrap-around porch was a win for our pup. With the gates provided, he ran laps around the deck. The property offers more amenities than most and we appreciate the fully stocked kitchen. Having the laundry on-site is a plus as well! We loved spending our days hiking and biking, picking up lunch from town, and then spending the rest of the afternoon and evenings outside on the spacious deck and grilling for dinner. We are looking forward to a return trip!
This secluded mountain getaway was only a short drive from Brevard. The property was spacious, clean, cozy, and fully stocked with everything we needed. I'd like to give a special shoutout to the wrap around deck: we honestly spent most of our time there. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a secluded place to stay in the Brevard/Pisgah forest area.
Loved staying in this cabin nestled in the trees! Loved the rustic feel, but with all the modern conveniences. Very close to downtown Brevard, the college and outdoor activities. Will recommend this place to stay!
We had a wonderful weeklong stay at the cabin! There were several thoughtful touches not always found in other rentals- handsoap at all sinks, dish and laundry detergent, snacks and plenty of paper goods. The house was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful views from the covered porch. We were able to have a fire almost every night and appreciated getting extra firewood mid week. The property host Mandi was quickly responsive to any messages and very helpful. Friends stayed 1 night in the Moonshine Cabin - again, very comfortable for them as well.
We came as a small group of friends to mountain bike in Pisgah and Dupont, and this cabin was perfect for us! The cabin was only a 10-minute drive to the Hub and about 20 minutes to most of the main trails we biked and hiked. We really enjoyed relaxing in the mornings and evenings out on the deck. It is incredibly scenic at the home, and with our stay being in mid-October, it was peak leaf peeping season! The kitchen was really well equipped and the house had lots of supplies that really make a big difference. Would highly recommend to others!
The home was beautifully decorated and very cozy. We really enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace and feeling secluded in the woods. We had everything we needed and had a great time!
Lovely cabin in the forest, very well equipped , even had sunscreen and bug spray. Host was immediately responsive to any questions. Highly recommended.
The property was perfect for a relaxing time away. We spent a good majority of our time on the covered deck enjoying the quiet and serene environment and nature! We were close enough to grocery stores to get the essentials and close enough to enjoy downtown Brevard. We loved that the house is very well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with all the appliances and kitchen wares you would need and the beds and pillows were very comfortable for a good night’s rest. Our fur baby Annie probably had the best time. She thoroughly enjoyed viewing and trailing all the wildlife on the mountain! We had a wonderful stay and will definitely consider going back!
Have to agree with a previous review that it was “hair-raising” getting there, even in the daytime, but once you do it, it’s not so bad. The cabin is amazing with a total wrap around porch. It is very secluded and not for the faint of heart. The cabin is very well-appointed, clean and spacious. Very generous with blankets, towels, paper products, pots, pans, plates, glasses, utensils, etc. Even tho the temps dropped into the 20’s, the cabin was toasty warm with the heat set at 65 degrees - didnt even need a fire in the fireplace. Great place to decompress - if you want privacy or absolute peace and quiet, you’ve got it here.
The cabin and location was perfect for what we were looking for. Something secluded and near the forest, and not far from lots of hiking. Absolutely perfect place to come back to in the evenings to rest up for more adventures during the day
The Cabin is very cozy. Sitting on the covered Porch was very relaxing.

Why they chose this property
We chose to purchase rental property in the Brevard area due to its proximity to the beautiful scenery, wildlife, outdoor activities (i.e., hiking, fly-fishing, rock climbing, and bike riding, etc.) available in the hundreds of acres of state and national forest in the Blue Ridge Mountains. In addition, Brevard is a charming Appalachian town that offers a thriving music and arts community, as well as fantastic shopping and dining.
What makes this property unique
While a mere 10-15 minute drive to wonderful downtown Brevard area, visitors to this cabin will enjoy a private, secluded haven complete with astonishing views, a beautiful setting atop Mine Mountain, and the potential to see a large variety of the wildlife indigenous to this region (including the unusual white squirrels Brevard is known for).
