This was the perfect location for a girls weekend full of hiking, yoga and trail walks! The town of Kingston is so cute and the house is incredible! Perfect location and stunning views! I hope to come back again with my family.
The house was beautiful. Just as pictured and with all the amenities we expected. I stayed there with my family of 12 and we had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy ourselves. Susanna was extremely communicative and helpful and we had a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend this location.
We had the most wonderful stay. Reunion of our family, ages from 1 to 92. Four generations. From GA, NC, and NY. The house was perfect for our family. We especially enjoyed the fantastic modern kitchen, and the stone fireplace, set in a beautifully restored and decorated historic home.
We were all so impressed by this House. 6 Adults all fit nicely & we loved sitting in each room for different activities. Can't forget the BathTub in the Primary Bedroom - Amazing! Hosts were extremely responsive and flexible. Will definitely be back
I stayed at the house with my three children and their spouses and my granddaughter and we had more than enough room for everyone. The house is beautiful and has anything you would need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. At first I was concerned that the house was on a busy road but once you are inside you can’t hear a thing. Even the outdoor space is just perfect. I would definitely stay here again
What a treat. This massive old house has been beautifully updated and appointed. In addition to the six bedrooms, there are numerous living rooms, salons and sitting areas which make it easy to spread out. The kitchen has almost everything you could want (we donated an ice cream scoop). We were here for a wedding and hosted dinner several nights in the run up to the main event. The master suite is huge and set apart. The four upstairs bedrooms all have queen beds, and two of them also have sturdy bunks, making it nice for lots of kids. The one downstairs bedroom is good for a single adult or kids. We were here in the summer for a wedding and the mini-splits kept everyone comfortable. It was really really clean, both inside and outside. And every piece of furniture, every book and picture was functional and beautiful, making it a delight to wander around. The front and back yards are fenced, which is nice because this house is on a highway. It’s 10 minutes from Kingston and Woodstock, 20 minutes to Rosendale and 30 minutes to New Paltz. There is a great rail-trail access point 5 minutes up the road for runners. And there’s good hiking/mountain biking trails even closer. And the WiFi was fast.
The house was exactly what my large group needed. We had 5 families, with 8 children 3 and under! We had to move a lot of breakable decor out of reach, but the house layout and space was PERFECT for what we needed. The bedrooms with bunks worked out well for the toddler families and there was also a crib. The house flowed well and had so many spaces to relax and hang out. The house was the perfect mix of bedrooms and living spaces. It was immaculately kept and had all the conveniences we needed. We enjoyed our stay and I’d come back again!
We are 5 friends in our mid-sixties who went to college together. Every year we leave our spouses, kids, grandkids and fur babies behind to spend a long weekend together. Of the many places we've enjoyed, this house was the best equipped, most beautifully decorated place we've stayed. Oppressive heat/humidity prevented our enjoying the outdoor spaces, but beautiful and peaceful indoors, including that marvelous kitchen, more than made up for it. The only minor disappointment was discovering that the first floor bedroom is not air conditioned, but there were enough upstairs bedrooms for each of us. A couple of minor issues were addressed promptly and cheerfully by the property manager. We all agreed we would be happy to stay here again any time!
Susanna was an excellent host. We were a big family of all ages and stayed for five nights, and contacted her several times the first two days to ask some questions about the house and the heat, to get some guidance. She was super responsive and gracious, and sent people over to help us get comfortable, and helped us enjoy our stay. One of our group left important medication behind, and Susanna very quickly got someone over there to send it overnight.Kingston and Woodstock were very cute for our outings. We had plenty of comfortable bedrooms, and the kitchen was well equipped. As the property description notes, the house is on the main road so there’s nowhere to take a walk, but we knew that ahead of time and planned for driving into town or to nearby areas to take walks in the woods. The only drawback for us was that the big dining table was in an unheated room. Susanna arranged for space heaters so we were able to enjoy being there. There’s a fireplace in that room, but it did not work well for us, so it seems something could still be improved to make that room more comfortable for dining.
We LUVED this home and its eye for style that created its uniqueness, combined with homey comforts. Quiet, comfy, living room and dining room accommodating our family group of 10 (even folding chairs!) and lots of other downstairs spaces for separate conversations. Just understand that this is an historic, much expanded house with 1 or 2 small unexpected steps at almost every downstairs room transition. Quite nervous-making for a family with less sure-footed members, like us. So glad we stayed here anyway.
