About this property

Muletown Manor at Muletown Farm

Muletown Manor was built in the early 1800's as the primary residency at Muletown Farm. Enjoy the beauty of a time passed without sacrificing the conveniences of today. Bathrooms and kitchens have been recently updated but the original floors and log walls remain. Muletown Manor sits on 31 acres that boasts of beautiful sunsets, rolling hills, picturesque old barns & log cabins. We have 3 cabins and a farmhouse for rent. Pick your favorite or book all 4 for you & your friends!

Muletown Manor is a 3 bedroom 2 bath 1800's log cabin. 2 bedrooms and one full bath are located upstairs. 3rd bedroom and 2nd full bath are located downstairs. Dreamy gas fireplace is located in the dining room.

Muletown farm has provided the back drop for several country music videos and a hallmark commercial because of it's yesteryear's charm. If you would like family pictures taken, please let the host know and and we will happily provide a professional photographer for you at a discounted rate.

Entire house is available to guests. We do have a basement that we keep locked because it stores owner's supplies, but if requested, we will unlock it and allow guests access to the washer and dryer located in the basement.

Small dogs are welcome.

We also are very open to events at the farm for an additional cost. If you are interested in hosting a wedding, party, or shower here, please reach out. This is not included in a regular booking.

We live nearby and are always available via text if needed. We can be there in a matter of minutes.

Perfect Family Farm Stay
The Muletown Farm was an absolute dream. The whole property is everything you would want in a family vacation. The Manor house accommodated our family of 10 perfectly. We had everything we needed and more. We were able to cook all our meals at "home" with the stocked kitchen. We even had family staying at Maury County Park and we were able to have them over to crank up the grill and have a smores bonfire after Mule Day. We loved our visit and will make sure we stay here for years to come. Not just the Manor house, but all the houses on the property. Cant wait to come back.

Amazing place overall
We loved our stay at Muletown Manor, its rich rustic history, yet very comfortable and updated interior was just what our family needed. It is located easy driving distance to downtown Columbia and other amenities yet still with the quiet countryside feel. Perfectly clean, with very sweet hospitality from hosts. (And a gentle fun greeting from the friendly pony that the kids loved). Would definitely stay here again, wonderful family memories were made.

Family vacation
The property is even more beautiful than the pictures. We travel, a group of 6 adults. We truly felt like we were at home in this house. We ere only a short distance from town and plenty of great restaurants, yet when you turned on your road it was quiet and peaceful. We say deer and turkeys in the pasture behind the house.

About the host

Hi! We are the Browns and we bought our 31 acre farm in 2017. We were looking for a place to escape the rat race and not only did we find what we were looking for, but we found a place we can share with others who are looking to get away for a couple of days of relaxation and connecting with each other.

Why they chose this property

This farm was first settled in 1808-1812. The land was part of a much larger parcel that was gifted to Colonel Grant from George Washington himself as a thank you for his leadership in the Revolutionary War. Grant's family in turn sold the property to settlers from SC (Armstrong family). We are not sure when the main house and side cabin were built, but we know it was somewhere between 1812-1889. The Armstrongs eventually sold the property to Dr. George who without question was the most notable and loved livestock veterinarian in Maury County. This property quickly became known all over town as the George farm. Dr. George passed away a few years ago and he was sick for many years before that so the farm unfortunately fell into a bit of disarray. But one look at this property and we fell in love--in love with the history and what it was and the potential for what it could be again. We are in the process of updating and repairing this into a working hobby farm. A place for stressed out people to enjoy a stress free weekend, to connect with each other, nature and God. We invite you to come join us on our farm journey and hope your stay here will make your journey a little more pleasant along the way.

What makes this property unique

If you are looking for a place close enough to all the wonderful things Nashville, Franklin and Columbia have to offer but you want to stay on a nostalgic Tennessee farm, this is your place. Enjoy the best of the best: The city life when you want it and the countryside when you're ready to wind down.
