Awesome place! Clean and had everything you could possibly need. Enough space for 6 where we were not on top of each other. Back deck perfect for a relaxing evening. Highly recommend
This house was so charming! We sat on the back porch and enjoyed listening to the waterfall! House was well equipped and very clean! He left snack which came in handy for mornings before we left for Keeneland. We use VRBO for all our traveling needs and this house was one of the cutest! I highly recommend! Will certainly go back in the future!
This is a lovely house that provided everything we needed and more. Clean, updated, nicely decorated and with extra touches like coffee and snacks. We couldnt have asked for anything more.
This was a great place to stay. We explored the bourbon trail and relaxed at night using the kitchen, hot tub, and watching the waterfalls. As some other reviewers wrote, the place is near a well traveled road but the driveway was positioned well to get in and out and there were fans available (some white noise can be helpful for road noise). Brandan checked in (text) to make sure everything was going well and give us useful information (such as finding extra umbrellas in the house for a rainy day).
Beautiful home in an excellent location. The view from the back deck is so relaxing and the host was very responsive and helpful. Very comfortable bedrooms and there were welcoming details throughout. We will absolutely return!
The home is welcoming and clean. Beautifully decorated and all items needed for a relaxing stay provided. The owner has thought of everything. We went for a Bourbon Trail weekend and the location was perfect for exploring the area. Returning back to a relaxing home with a lovely view from the back deck and hottub! Cannot recommend it enough.
This place was a perfect getaway for my wife and I and 2 other couples. It is a beautiful place to spend time with friends when you’re not out hunting bourbon! The owner was more responsive than any others we have stayed with. I would highly recommend this to any adult group. We are considering another trip in the summer and hopefully this place will be available.
6 of us all professionals in our late 50’s and 60’s had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful venue. Very clean and well appointed. All questions were answered in a timely fashion. Outdoorsy setting with a lovely creek flowing right outside. The brown water boys from Michigan truly enjoyed the venue and responsiveness of our hostess / host. Much appreciated!
The place was very well equipped in the kitchen and baths and many nice touches throughout the home, such as the snacks, etc. The age of the home was turned into a strength with the charming exterior siding, repurposed wood, etc. Some of the living room furniture was a bit worn and tattered, but all 3 beds and mattresses were very comfortable. Brandan was extremely responsive and answered all our questions. The only real downside is the busy and loud traffic very close to the home, but the deck in back, hot tub and creek made up for that. All in all, I would consider coming back here again.

Stayed during the 1,000 storm
The house was comfortable. The waterfalls are amazing. It would have been more fun, had the storm of the century not been going on. The only real issue I have with the house is it sits on the road! That was a little unnerving and scary. The gravel road beside the house, in the description... is the driveway. It set on a curve and traffic was flying by. Interestingly enough it was tranquil inside! That was nice.
It would be a fabulous location during the summer or even Fall for leaf watching. Just be careful pulling out of that driveway.
Brandon, the Host, is fabulous in communication. He checked on us a couple of times during our stay.
This was a great little property and conveniently located outside of Frankfort, and a great home base if you want to take in a lot of distillery tours or other fun attractions in this part of Kentucky.
The property is as advertised with only a few small challenges that are beyond the control of the hosts. They were nothing but awesome to work with and communication was great. From the nice welcome cookies to a very well stocked house, the stay was great. The beds were extremely comfortable, and I slept like a rock. While the location is off of a sometimes busy road (something the Host can't control), the road noise inside was very minimal when you are watching TV or have the fan on at night. The restrooms are very nicely done and apportioned.
I found a great road to get my morning walk in, and while a little interesting for the first quarter mile, you can get in beautiful countryside walks if that is what you want.
I would rent again if back in the area. Great Hosts and communication made it a very enjoyable stay.
Eire Cottage is beautifully appointed, super clean and with lots of extras. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need and Brandan has numerous treats for guests to get you through until you make a grocery run. So many VRBO's have salt and pepper and these are the only staples. Eire Cottage had a number of items such as coffee, filters, sugar, ketchup, and mustard, etc.
We had six adults and the house worked well for us. We had two vehicles and it would be tight to get a third vehicle parked there.
If you are there for the Bourbon Trail, the property is nicely placed as a base camp to the different distilleries. Brandan provided recommendations for restaurants and shopping, which we appreciated.
The food at The Stave was phenomenal. Goodwood is always reliable for a good meal and Locals pizza was decent. Reservations were needed for most locations.
We will definitely stay at Eire Cottage during future trips to the Bourbon Trail!
Very nice property with all of the amenities that you could want or need. The host is great to work with and overly accommodating.

About the host
Hosted by Brandan Gravitt
I was born and raised in Kentucky. Retired wedding planner & florist. I do property management full time now. Hospitality is in my blood. Husband and Co-Owner is Shane and we have 2 young adult children. I'm also a yoga teacher. I like hosting, because Kentucky is such a beautiful state and there are so many experiences to be found. Whether you are visiting a distillery, finding historic places, walking through the Josephine Sculpture Park or eating at Local's pizza. There is so much to be experienced, and I like to help people have a great time.
Why they chose this property
We found this house by chance, and when we stopped to see it, we fell in love. The waterfall and creek are really special and we love the overall design of the house. The house does sit close to the road and it is a half circle gravel driveway.
What makes this property unique
The waterfall and creek are so serene and peaceful. The beams and wood burning stove in the living room feels like a cottage you might find in Ireland. Hence the name, Eire Cottage. The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable.
