Brand new, beautiful log cabin in the heart of bourbon and horse country.
This cabin is located just outside of Frankfort, Ky's State Capital and in the heart of bourbon and horse country. The farm and cabins (there is another cabin), are owned and operated by a family whose ancestors originally came to Ky with Daniel Boone. Great, great grandchildren of George T Stagg (early bourbon pioneer for the bourbon lovers), great, great neices/nephews of Benjamin C Milam (Ky Reel maker), and great, great neices/nephews of Benjamin R Milam (hero of the Texas Revolution). There is a lot of history surrounding the family and the location.
For people interested in Ky artist, Paul Sawyier, the cabin is full of examples of his work. There is a replica copper still awarded to the family by Buffalo Trace when George T Stagg was inducted into the Bourbon Hall of Fame. There are many tales of bourbon history here that you won't find in public.
Deer hunting, turkey hunting, fishing, and golf can also be arranged with the owners at additional fees.

We loved our stay! It was so nice to be secluded but also close to town. Our kids really enjoyed the cows being right in the yard. Would definitely stay there again.
Amazing property and the host Frank was as nice as could be and improved our overall experience. Beautiful home with beautiful views. Nice and quiet for a getaway.
A wonderful, warm spacious home with any amenity one could ask for. The view is incredible and the friendly little pets roaming the property add to the entire experience.
Very nice cabin about 15 minutes from downtown Frankfort and the Buffalo Trace Distillery and 30 minutes to many other distilleries. Nice porch, comfortable beds, plenty of room and lots of cattle roaming about. We had a great time! Important note not mentioned in the listing… the driveway up to the cabin is pretty rough rock/gravel. We blew a tire that impaled on a sharp rock and needed to put on the spare. Luckily there is a Big O Tire Shop nearby. They showed us the large puncture in our tire. There is also a bridge of sorts that is terrifying to drive across the first time. You definitely want to arrive before dark to make your first crossing!
The property was very nice and the owner was very personable and easy to work with. Getting to the property can be a bit of a chalange as it is off the main road up a gravel road about 3/4 if a mile. Once you get there it is a buitiful place and not very far from Frankfort Ky. I would stay there again.
The property and the cabin were breathtaking. We enjoyed how close the cattle came to the yard. Be prepared for a long driveway leading to a secluded paradise but still not far from stores and tourist destinations. A nature-lovers dream.
The property was a slice of heaven and the house was well appointed. It was about a mile off the main road so it was very secluded and quiet. The host was most accommodating and very friendly. Would definitely stay again.
The property is secluded and out in the country which is exactly what we enjoy. The log cabin is new with good amenities, wi fi for those that want it. Great front porch sitting
Beautiful secluded cabin. We enjoyed our stay visiting the various bourbon tours and kayaking and zip lining in The Gorge. Location of the cabin is amazing and perfect for ready commute to all bourbon tours. Definitely will be back agai
Frank was great. He met us at the house when we arrived incase we needed anything. The house was clean and comfortable. The drive in was a mile long on a bumpy gravel drive, but once we got near the house, the views were beautiful. It is a working farm and the house is in the middle of the pasture, so the cows were all around the house. It was exciting to see the cows so close. Although you do need to watch were you stepping:)
This is a beautiful log cabin down a long lane. The owners live in a cabin next to this cabin, and are wonderful to work with. If you need anything they are very responsive. It is a working farm, so be ready to see cow's, chickens, and other wildlife. If you want city life don't go to this cabin. Looking for country living enjoy the stay!
We had such a great time staying at Frank’s cabin. It really does one good to escape to such a peaceful property, out in the country, down a gravel road, away from it all. Yet so close to Frankfort and a short drive to Lexington, Keeneland or the distilleries. Very comfortable and plenty of space for our group of 6. Communication with Frank was great, always responding quick even late. Meeting him and hearing about the history of the property, surrounding area and his family made the stay that much more interesting. Just a remarkable place and stay. The cows on the property added extra excitement to our day. The time went too fast, we all look forward to coming back.
What an amazing experience staying at this property! The beautiful, brand new secluded log cabin home is most accommodating - filled with EVERYTHING you may need from the fully stocked kitchen to the comfortable beds/linens/towels, relaxing wrap around porch, and close proximity to Buffalo Trace and many Bourbon Trail distilleries! But more importantly, we enjoyed every minute with our hosts. Frank, Kathy, Martha, and John are such great people. If they offer you dinner and tasting on property, take them up on it! The food and bourbon were better than you can get anywhere else and hearing about their Stagg family history was incredibly interesting - a bourbon family legacy! We will be back again … with friends. Can’t wait for them to have the same experience. This truly is our new Kentucky home away from home!
This is a beautiful cabin that feels so remote in the most wonderful way but is also close to town for all the sights and essentials. The host, Frank, was so nice and very responsive to questions. We had a great time!
