Why they chose this property
I love Portland, and absolutely adore the Sellwood neighborhood. I purchased the Yellow Bungalow for my daughter after she graduated from Lewis & Clark and refused to leave Portland, and decided to set up the place as a furnished rental after she and her husband bought their own house. Living and working in Sellwood during the renovation, I couldn't imagine a better neighborhood. There are so many bars, restaurants, and shops nearby that there are days when I never need to use the car. You'll get to know every dog in the neighborhood through the sunny front windows, as everyone strolls by. A quick Uber/Lyft will take you to other trendy SE neighborhoods for some of the best dining in the country, from quirky to adventurous to comfort staples and everything in between. Or hop onto the very convenient Tri-Met public transportation!
What makes this property unique
The Yellow Bungalow is much bigger inside than it looks! You'll walk into the spacious open living area with dedicated work and dining spaces and comfortable sofas and lounge chairs. Relax by the fire, play music, or pick up where you left off on your favorite shows by logging into your own streaming accounts. Cook anything you can dream of in the expertly equipped "chef's" kitchen. Knives are kept sharp, spice cupboard and pantry have all the basics and then some, and there will even be fresh milk and cream in the fridge ready for your morning coffee/tea when you arrive. In addition to the MBR and guest bedrooms, the living room includes a full-size pull-out sofa bed. There is additional room for slumber parties on air mattresses in the finished half of the basement, which is also equipped with a movie screen and projector. Get out your popcorn and treat your family to a movie night at home! Outside there is a large back garden with several raised beds for growing or picking your own veggies. Most of the roses and ornamentals were carefully chosen and planted by my daughter, and we hope you enjoy them as much as she did. The kids also hand-laid a flagstone patio in the corner beneath the shade of the overhanging trees, which is wonderfully cool in summer and has a chimnea for warm fall and spring fireside enjoyment. Grill up a meal on the gas or the charcoal bbq's and enjoy your food al fresco on the 6-person glass-top umbrella table. The yard is fully fenced in for your well-behaved pet's enjoyment as well.
