Our condo which is located in Bonita Springs, Florida was hit by Hurricane Ian in 2022 and again by several smaller storms the summer of 2024. Reconstruction and repairs have been ongoing and are nearing completion. This being the case the condo board and the city of Bonita Springs granted a certificate of occupancy for owners and guests this past Fall. This renter made a booking request in November 2024 for the week of 12/23/24. Before accepting this request we advised the interested party of the situation pointing out the construction and work that was still ongoing as well as the fact that work on the pool might not be completed by their arrival date. In addition the renter signed a waiver acknowledging and accepting the fact of lack of access to certain common areas as well as the ongoing work being done in various areas of the condo complex. The day following this renter’s arrival we received a communication from them complaining that the condo unit was not cleaned properly and a sliding patio screen was not secured properly. We immediately called the cleaning service which we have been using for over 15 years and were told the unit was thoroughly cleaned, sheets and towels washed, beds made, etc the morning of the day of the renters arrival. We also contacted our handyman to arrange to reset sliding screen patio door. We did offer additional monetary compensation for any inconvenience. Despite this the renter contacted us again and relayed the fact that they were still unhappy with the situation. We told the renter that if they wish to leave early we would prorate the rent to cover just the nights stayed and refund the balance. The renter decided to stay. At any point prior to arrival this renter could have canceled and received a full refund. In addition we also offered to prorate the rent should this renter wish to leave early. We have owned, rented, and managed this condo for over thirty years and consistently have had happy renters, many of which return year after year. Our reviews our a testament to that. We regret that this renter was unhappy but we feel we made every attempt to accommodate this renter.

This renter called us several days into their stay to tell us that the unit was not clean enoiugh when they arrived and there was a slow leak coming from AC hose.....this is a new air conditioning system only put in 2 weeks prior to the renters arrival....we immediately called the installers and they came out the next day and tightened a hose thereby fixing the leak....as for the other item we called the cleaning service and were told that the renters were already in the unit when the cleaner arrived (1130am) despite the fact that the rental agreement signed by the renter states check in is after 200pm....renter told cleaner not to bother that they would clean unit.

we regret the issues encountered by this renter.....this is the first renter we have had in several months because of the Covid situation..we did have the unit cleaned and checked out several days prior to renters arrival and NO issues were reported.........however the these issues could have been addressed and resolved within 24 hours if renter had just notified us....we are having service company check out the air conditioning and will replace coffee maker if need be....our handyman will check on the doors.

Unit is professionally cleaned after each renter...after 13 years of renting this is the first comment of this sort....as for security refund the rent and security were paid via paypal...$40 in fees were taken out of the agreed upon rent which was also stated in a rental agreement signed by renter....this $40 was taken out of the security to make up the deficit.....balance of security ($160 out of $200 held) was paid 2 weeks after departure.

Refund of deposit was delayed because of computer crashing and loss of info but was eventually returned once info was retrieved....
