Why they chose this property
The apartment for rent is self-contained, on the second floor, and is across the courtyard from our home, with its own gated entrance. Although the neighborhood is safe and friendly, the entire property is accessed by locked gates. We like the fact that we can walk to the Bear Moon Bakery (Wed-Sun) with pastries, breakfasts and lunch), or the Boerne Daily Grind. Boerne Taco House and Cibolo brewery are also a 15-minute walk . For entertainment there are numerous craft breweries and wineries. Go to Brantley’s Bistro 259 for bar fare and music in their outdoor Biergarten, jazz at the Dodging Duck on Sundays 11-2 and for an upscale dinner, Cypress Grill. We also have chickens nearby and deer wandering along the creek behind the house. It's truly country in the city!
For outings, there's Enchanted Rock and Fredericksburg 1 hour away. The Sunset Cafe in Fredericksburg and Hilltop Cafe outside it should not be missed. Only 12 miles from here is Comfort, with its well-preserved downtown and the beautiful La Calabria hilltop restaurant. Two wineries: Bending branch and Singing Water, are nearby. Guadalupe River State Park is 30 minutes away, and Boerne Lake offers swimming, and some other great state parks nearby. Boerne itself boasts a well-known nature center, hike and bike trails, Second Saturday arts, crafts, and gallery hopping, and numerous other points of interest, which we will be glad to let you know about if you're interested.
What makes this property unique
We are in an eclectic residential neighborhood 3 walkable blocks from Main Street. Boerne is a sweet little town, but for extended visits, the large grocery store HEB is a convenient 5 minute drive, and San Antonio is only 30 minutes away. The Hill Country offers beautiful drives and vistas.
