About the host

Your host

We (Nigel and Tessa) moved from San Francisco to the Costa Brava about 10 years ago. After a great time living on the coast we decided to move to Girona because it’s an adorable city. It’s small enough to be completely walkable yet big enough to have a ton of excellent restaurants , great concerts and culture and immediate access to
Miles of green space. We also wanted to be well connected to other places and enjoy taking the train to Barcelona and Perpignan (40 minutes).

Tessa is a psychologist who works mainly with the burgeoning expat community and who loves to help people find their way in this area. Nigel is a scientist turned sculptor. We live with our cat and small dog. Tessa likes to garden and is actively involved with the local community while Nigel enjoys pedalling his old fashioned bike, writing about science and sculpting large pieces - no worries, he does this away from the house!!

We live in the house in front of the flat so are available for questions or problems.

We decided to welcome guests because we absolutely love where we live and enjoy making Girona available to others. It’s fun to meet travellers and share a glass of wine.

Why they chose this property

Our Neighborhood is fairly unique in Girona in that it’s charming and quiet while being very central. It’s 6 minutes walk to the Old Town, 8 to the food market 15 to the train station. And, it’s 9 minutes to San Daniel which is the start of mikes and miles of woods for walking and cycling. Girona is 40 minutes to the coast, se we feel like we have it all!

What makes this property unique

Our sunny unit faces a pretty garden and is beautifully quiet. But it’s also a stone’s throw from all the action. We restored it to be pretty yet functional. It’s in the safest zone of town - so you can relax and let go on your own patio or on the roof terrace
