Ski Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2 full Baths, (Sleeps 6-8), ski lift is adjacent to condo
We have a family tradition of visiting Breckenridge during all seasons to enjoy everything that the Breckenridge has to offer. Please come stay at our Condo - Aspen Traditions - and create your own tradition. We have four children that love being in the mountains and enjoy all aspects of Breckenridge: hiking, biking, skiing, ice skating, sledding. We live close by in Denver and get away to Breckenridge as often as we can.
John purchased this Condo in 2011
Why John chose Breckenridge
For a number of years, our family had dreamed about owning a ski condo. John and Marty Jo both enjoy skiing and spending time in Breckenridge year round, and our kids have also grown to love the mountains. We really like the area near the south end of Breckenridge, it provides close proximity to both the mountain ski area and to the town. In 2010, the Village at Breckenridge underwent a complete exterior renovation including all new windows, doors, exterior stucco/siding and roof. This renovation also included the addition of a new clock tower which is visible from most locations in Breckenridge. In late April 2011, we purchased this condo at the Village at Breckenridge. This location is ideal for both vacation renters as well as for our family given the close proximity to town and the ski-in ski out location.
What makes this Condo unique
Our condo is kid friendly - we provide items to help 'kids' of all ages enjoy their stay from a pack and play to kid sized dishes to a highchair to a Wii gaming system.
100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Thank you John and Marty for opening up your condo for us! We had an amazing time on our stay in Breckenridge! The location is perfect we were able to walk to the many restaurants Breck has to offer. We were near all the activities our kids wanted to try! We had a great adventure and made lots of memories! We hope to visit again in the future! Thanks again!!
Great location and well kept.
Ski in / ski out, Walking distance to Main Street and well maintained. What more could you ask for? We really enjoyed our stay!
Stayed in Feb. 2019. Great location. This condo is a very short walk to the Quick Silver lift which is super convenient especially if you plan to ski on Peak 9 and 10. This does tend to be one of the busier lifts. It is also only a couple of blocks to town which makes it easy to grab a bite to eat after a long day of skiing. The owner was responsive to questions before the stay and easy to work with. The condo was in nice condition and very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. My kids loved the queen size bunk beds. The common areas lobby/hallway seemed a bit tired. The indoor/outdoor pool was in the building next door, but you can walk through the garage and avoid the weather. One downside was having the washer/dryer in the hallway on the floor. It was a bit inconvenient because you couldn't just throw a load of laundry in and leave for a few hours or put it in the dryer and leave it overnight. But it was better than not having one at all. Overall, we were happy with our visit and would stay here again.
Nicely updated fireplace and bathrooms. Our only issue was a humidifier that didn’t work - easily fixed!
Nice unit; great location
Very nice unit and a very nice stay. What I especially liked was being a <5 minute walk to the children’s ski school (once you figure out where it is - Breckenridge doesn’t post signs). The kitchen and bathroom upgrades were very nice. They had lots of fun games for young kids to play which was perfect for us. The furniture was nice and the unit was very clean. The grocery was a <10 min pleasant walk. The 4 hot tubs were nice and the kids loved the pool (although as usual, the hot tubs were too hot and the pool too cold ...).
What my wife didn’t like was the lack of an in-unit washer/dryer and the lack of a dresser in the second bedroom. Directions for the change machine referenced a health club for which there were (again) neither signs nor directions. We eventually figured out that it was the shared gym facility in the complex but it was broken! As for the absent dresser, we just kept the kids clothing in their suitcases. The only thing that I personally didn’t like was that the lift 5-min from the unit requires a 30-min wait so everyday we hiked 10-min up the mountain to the next lift. Exercise is good though, right?
Very nice condo with great access to slopes and town
My husband and I visited Breckenridge in 2018 during Christmas with our 3 adult children. The Village at Breckenridge is probably the best place to stay when visiting this ski town. It's convenient to everything - the slopes, the town, restaurants, ski rentals, etc. We couldn't have asked for a better location.
This particular condo is very nice - upgraded kitchen and bathrooms and a real wood-burning fireplace add a nice touch. The kitchen has every utensil/gadget one could need. There are plenty of games and DVDs available. The king bed was very comfortable, although my kids struggled with the upper queen bunk in the second bedroom, saying it was too hot. Thankfully, the unit had several floor fans available.
Our stay started out rocky because the description as to where to pick up the key in the VRBO listing was out of date. We called the owners, who are very nice and answered our call immediately, and they pointed us in the right direction to get the key to the unit. If you rent this condo, be aware that you will need to pick up the key at a location different than The Village itself. This is a bit of a pain when you don't really know your way around town and it's a shame that the condo cannot be managed by the staff at The Village. However, it is a one time issue and isn't a deal-breaker.
Two things I would address if I were the owners:
1) The closets are somewhat messy and cluttered. I appreciate that the owners have provided lots of childcare equipment for guests to use, but I would perhaps put these items in a separate closet (maybe in one of the several locked closets in the unit) and tidy up the remaining closets.
2) The second bedroom doesn't have any drawers for clothing and it got a little difficult for my 3 kids to manage their clothes without a chest of drawers. If there were a way to squeeze a set of drawers in the second bedroom, that would be helpful. I would consider changing the queen bunks to single bunks to allow some breathing room here. The pull-out sofa is quite comfortable as an extra bed.
All-in-all we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay in this unit in Breckenridge!
Amazing location where the mountain meets main street - you can either walk out the front door to the lifts or walk less than 5 minutes to main street - the ultimate location for being close to both the slopes and town.
