A travelers dream: Heated floors, special heater and hangers for coats. Fully stocked kitchen with snacks, coffee and tea included!
Nestled between the Wind River Mountains to the south and the Absaroka Range to the north you will find Wind River Landing at the western most edge of the town of Dubois Wyoming. The Wind River Landing sprawls across more than 6 acres on the Wind River and is home to 3 separate living spaces including the newly renovated Historic Log Cabin. This property is located on the corner of Hwy 26 / 287 and Warm Springs Road across from the Taylor Creek Sinclair.
The log cabin originally built in 1935, has been completely renovated in 2023/24. Enjoy the heated ceramic floors throughout with thermostats in each room, a beautiful newly updated kitchen, a wet room for showering and a wash up area in each bedroom for your convenience. A beautiful natural stone fireplace has been up fitted with a propane insert to keep you cozy with your favorite beverage as you enjoy the beautiful great room. The cabin has been meticulously outfitted with its refurbished original national park style lighting that adds to its charm.
“The Cabin” will accommodate total sleeping areas for six guests. Each of the 2 bedrooms sleeps 2 people, (one queen bedroom and two singles) and a queen sofa sleeper is available in the great room. Fresh bed linens and towels are provided for your use.
The cabin is also outfitted with an attached mudroom with stackable washer and dryer. There is also plenty hanging space to dry your snowmobile or rain gear in the mudroom, complete with a wall heater.
The cabin kitchen is well supplied should you want to cook or bake. Coffee, tea, hot cocoa and oatmeal are provided in the coffee bar area of the breakfast nook.
For your enjoyment there is a smart TV in each bedroom and in the great room. A vintage arcade with over 400 video games is available at no charge for your entertainment.
Upon check in please see the 3-ring binder with more information about Dubois, (pronounced Dew-boyz) and the surrounding area as well as rules for your stay.
No pets please. No smoking allowed.
Access code to “The Cabin” front door will be supplied via e-mail or text thru the VRBO App on the morning of your arrival.
Right outside the door is the Wind River Landing Pond on this property. Fishing is available at the pond as well as on the Wind River which skirts the south side of the property. Grab a Wyoming fishing license at the Super foods or other fine retailer and try your luck! The Wind River does not freeze in winter months. The pond is warm springs fed and does not completely freeze over during the winter.
There is an ice-skating rink at the Town Park ballfields just south of the Big Horn Sheep Museum. Ice skates are available FREE at the Headwaters west of the ice rink.
If you are a hiking, ATV, horseback riding, hunter, snowmobile or cross-country skiing enthusiast, this area has it all very close by. The cabin is on the trail system for horseback riding, ATV or UTV's. It is just a quick trip up the mountain to the Shoshone National Forest.
Snowmobilers have a short ride or drive to the trail system. Wind River Landing is less than 30 minutes to Togwatee Pass – the mecca of snowmobile riding in Wyoming on the Continental Divide. Grab a trail map at the Polaris or Honda dealer or Super Foods where snowmobile stickers are sold in town.
Our horse corrals are ready this year and access to a hot tub were added to this property. The horse corrals are on the west end of the 6 acre property. Access them along the driveway that goes around the pond. The HOT TUB is available on the back deck of the duplex to the west on this property.
