We had a great stay! The property was perfect for our family of 5. Our 14-year-olds — they fished off the dock nearly the entire week and loved it. The hot tub and pool were especially appreciated on the cooler March days and made the trip enjoyable regardless of the weather. The location was fantastic. We rented a golf cart from Salty Wheels, played golf at The Dunes, and had breakfast each morning at Keylime Bistro — all were excellent and very convenient. One small suggestion: the blankets on the beds were fairly thin, which made the cooler nights a bit chilly. Bringing extra blankets or having additional bedding available would make the stay even more comfortable.Overall, a wonderful property and a great experience!
This property is in a perfect location to access all Captiva has to offer. Wonderful view of the bay with pool along the waters edge. Good dock for a large boat as well as fishing off the dock. Nice large screened porch and lots of den/eating/kitchen space. Communication was very good with property manager.
The house is wonderful and has everything you need to have a great vacation. There is a beautiful view out of every window. Easy walk to beach or anywhere. Loved coffee on the dock every morning. Had visits from so much wildlife including lots of birds, reptiles, manatees, fish, dolphins.
This Captiva home has a sensational location-on the bay with pool and spa yet only a five min walk to Gulf beaches. Moreover, it’s only a 10 min walk to the shops and restaurants in Captiva. We loved our stay here. The home has a great design so that the bedrooms and bathrooms are on separate sides of the house so it was perfectly private. We will be back!
House was clean as could be, furniture brand new, location perfect! Even with three days of rain, we had plenty to do! Dock fishing was incredible, pool inviting and plenty of flora and fauna to enjoy. Hosts were welcoming and even brought us games to keep us occupied during the rain!

Or stay at this Captiva home felt like it was ours. It had everything we needed and we really feel comfortable. I’ve been visiting Captiva for over 30 years and this was the first time I’ve rented a house. From the advantage of having our own private driveway Jacuzzi pool and private dock for our boat and fishing this really does feel like a cozy comfortable home away from home
This home was perfect for our family of five. We had the absolute best week! The pool by the bay was lovely and clean! Manatees and dolphins in the bay behind the house and a plethora of birds visiting daily! Comfortable furniture and beds throughout. Amazing location! Walkable to a beautiful beach, restaurants, ice cream, Tuesday Farmers Market, the list goes on and on. I wish I could go back this week and do it all over! If you’re looking for a convenient yet still quiet and private home on Captiva for 5 or less people, this property is dreamy!
The house is accurately described in the pictures but the actual view of the bay is spectacular! We enjoyed floating in the pool watching the marine life and boats just yards away. The beach is a 4 minute walk… door to toes in the sand. The host provided a beach cart and 6 sand chairs. Easily walkable to the Green Flash and Andy Rosse Lane. My family of 6 had a wonderful stay with plenty of room!
The house was great. The floors were dirty. For the price we paid, the outdoor furniture could have been updated. The bedroom furniture needs to be changed up, more king size beds, lots of unused space in the house. The pool wasn’t working correctly but they quickly fixed the issues.Over all awesome location, beautiful house.
I loved the location, but the pool and dock were sub par. The pool had birds in it and drinking out of it the entire trip. I love wild life, but the bird poop in and around the pool made us not want to swim. I’m not sure I’d want to scare them away, cuz it was cool to see them, but it made swimming in the pool nasty. Dock had no lights, water or electrical, which made it challenging. Overall, the place was decent, but the lack of a hygienic pool really was disappointing. Hosts were nice and generally accommodating, but we booked this largely due to having a dock and pool, both which didn’t deliver.
My family and I arrived at 8:30 pm and were packed and out by 10 am the next morning. Gross and dangerous conditions were not enough for Vrbo to help us find another home but the numerous code violations were enough for our stay to be canceled by owner. The house most closely resembled an abandoned foreclosure but medical id brackets, canes and other personal possessions tell another sad story. We were so fortunate to find a house nearby that was amazing and saved our quick getaway.
The following issues are documented facts with photos:
- Non floating dock is not operable for a boat (nor lift)
- Exposed hot electrical wires hanging above kitchen sink
- Many electrical outlets not working and exposed with no plate covers
- Broken refrigerator/freezer: 65 degrees upon arrival
- Untreated, filthy, and stained pool with no cover or alarm
- Bugs, ants and stained carpeting throughout house
- No air conditioning and rigged dehumidifier sticking out of bedroom window in room with 3 of the 4 beds
- Two back doors did not lock which opened up directly to pool/backyard
- Excessive trash through exterior and trashed back yard with furniture and such thrown all over and zero outdoor furnishings/furniture with dirty grill and utensils
- No linens or pillows for one of the advertised beds (full pull out sofa)
- Animals living in chimney/fireplace area - manager even left a note about many of these issues for the “handyman”’on the countertop. No handyman can rectify this home.

Please read the other reviews of the property. I will not bother responding to each ludicrous accusation in this review - they are ALL false. The people that wrote this are scammers.
