Good property. A little outdated but well maintained. Beautiful views of the mountains. We went for the hiking trails and loved it. There happened to be a Civil War reenactment at Droop Mountain Battlefield (about an hour away) the weekend we stayed.
Family stayed here for a short trip after Christmas. Excellent location and very nice / spacious living area in the unit. Only caution is that sleeps 8 is tough - more like 4 to 6 comfortable as there are only 3 beds in 2 bedrooms.
We absolutely loved this condo and the location was one of the best. True ski in ski out. The walk out mudroom was excellent for getting on and off the slopes. The boot warmer was a huge perk. Beautiful views! Owners were excellent and made the check in process easy. We hope to be back soon.
This is a great place to stay for its ski in and ski out convenience. You literally strap in on the back porch and ski 5 feet onto the slope. The kitchen is big and spacious with plenty of seating options. Wood burning fireplace is a nice touch. Overall pretty clean - furniture is slightly out dated which is normal for most snowshoe rentals. Would recommend this place.
This place was a great location and was very comfortable for our group of 7. There were a few issues with cleanliness… noticeably dirty dishes put back in cabinets, & animal crackers & wrappers in the sofa bed. When we arrived the building smelled heavily of sewage. I’m assuming something with the drains or sewage pipes? The smell went away in the hallway bathroom but lingered in the primary bathroom. Overall, we had a great stay, loved the location of ski in and ski out. Easy walk to the village as well! We would stay here again. The owners were very responsive & helpful.

An update for our readers - the plumbing/odor issue at Stemwinder was resolved during the Spring of 2025.
Perfect location and very nice accommodations. Loved having a wood burning fireplace and the separate location for all of the wet ski equipment. Able to jump on the slopes right outside the door - either Blue or Green trail. And literally a 3 min walk to the "downtown" area and ski-school. Just perfect. It snowed over a foot while there so be sure to have AWD or 4WD as plowing is done but unlikely to be enough to get out without that. Just one little side note - no Keurig in unit 10 although the initial email said to bring your own K-cups. We were able to pivot pretty easily but just be aware. Would definitely stay here again.
