Island Paradise at First Flight Retreat — The Sunny Side of the Building

Chase the light. Island Paradise is a south-facing corner unit that catches sun nearly all day — amazing coastline views down the beach from the private balcony, then golden western light pouring through the end-unit windows over the glistening pool as the afternoon winds down. If your ideal vacation is bright from first coffee to last drink, this is your unit.

Modern Beach Feel, Upgraded Throughout

Both bathrooms have been renovated — a tiled walk-in shower in one, a new tub with tile surround in the other, and new granite vanities in each. Serta mattresses anchor both bedrooms (each with a new TV), and a large sectional gathers everyone around the curved 55" Ultra HD SmartTV in the living room. The kitchen's recent additions — Keurig, toaster, and a stocked spice rack — will please the chef in your group, and an Echo Bluetooth speaker keeps the soundtrack going.
The large private balcony comes furnished with Polywood deck furniture and a chaise lounge for full-sun lounging. Beds are made before you arrive, a washer and dryer are in the condo, and free Wi-Fi is included.

This is a pet-free unit. Elevator access makes arrival easy (the elevator is a community amenity, not controlled by the homeowner, and cannot be guaranteed).

Great Location

Great location central to everything OBX. Nice southeast ocean view although not exactly oceanfront. Property was nicely decorated and comfortable. Easy access to the beach. Some minor issues however the property management was very responsive. Only one minor drawback was that the king bed in the master took up so much of the room there were no bedside tables but I would not consider that a deal breaker. The elevator closest to the unit was not working however the other elevator was in service. All in all we had an excellent stay and would consider staying here again.

Well stocked and decorated. Comfortable seating. Beds were advertised and tagged (I checked) as queen but both couples who have queens that we sleep on in our homes found these beds smaller than we are accustomed too. Bellman's carts would be better than the flatbed carts as many travelers have clothing on hangers. All in all we had a wonderful time.

Maintenance issue

The location was great and easy to go south to Hatteras and north to Currituck. The problem was I contacted management about the screen doors to the balcony not working. Maintenance came over took one door out and just laid it on the balcony. The other door was not fixed. Problem is we couldn't hear the waves or get fresh air.

This was the perfect place for our first visit to the Outerbanks. Beautiful oceanfront to explore. Several places within walking distance for dining choices. The condo is very comfortable and updated! Loved the decor and book of suggested dining establishments. We will be back!

Family getaway

This property was perfect for our family’s week away from home. We loved the location on the beach and spent time there everyday. Our boys (5 and 7)loved playing skee ball in the little game room. Overall, this was a very relaxing trip and the condo was a a great place to rest away from home.

Upscale retreat right on the water

Went for the Thanksgiving holiday for a low key laid back experience and everything was just great. All the amenities of home and easy access to the water. Elevator and flat carts for loading/ unloading a big plus. Will be back.

Great place for a Girls' Trip

The condo was in a great location. We walked to dinner and it is right on the beach. It is very comfortable. There were no issues at all. My only suggestion would be to bring extra towels.

Just like home

Well maintained, clean and comfortable. Love the convenience to the beach and some great eating spots - Outer Banks Brewing Station, Mama Kwan's, Stack 'Em High, and Duck Donuts. Great parking and storage in the garage. All transactions with First Flight were easy and friendly. Side balcony was comfortable and still had a view of the ocean.

Great Vacation at First Flight Retreat Condo!

We had a great stay at First Flight Retreat Condo. The condo is spacious and very well-furnished and equipped. Amazing views of the beach from the balcony, and we enjoyed all the amenities that are available (pool/spa, fitness room, game room, etc.) The location is the best part, being right on the beach and within walking/biking distance of all the attractions in Kill Devil Hills and the surrounding areas. We look forward to coming back!
