G9 Vasari View is the latest addition to our hand-picked collection of unique luxury retreats in Florence. This beautiful property is located just 50 metres from the iconic Ponte Vecchio and is very close to the very charming Piazza Pitti and Piazza Santo Spirito. It has a first-class location in the very heart of the historic Oltrarno district which represents one of Florence’s most sought-after areas to experience Florence at its best.
This luxury apartment is located on the second floor of a lovely building (with lift) which dates back to the 1950's and is 1500 square foot. It can accommodate up to 6 guests in three double bedrooms all with beautiful en-suite bathrooms furnished entirely in quality Italian marble.
One enters the property’s elegantly furnished open-plan living room with comfortable sofa, armchair and a flat screen TV. This room also boasts a wonderful dining table and offers peaceful views over gardens and the historical Vasari Corridor, once used by the Medici family and powerful elite for travelling from one side of Florence to the other without being seen.
Adjacent to the living room is the well-equipped kitchen (including oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer). From here, a corridor leads to the three double bedrooms. The first bedroom on the left, the Yellow Suite boasts a comfortable twin bed (or one double on request) with en-suite bathroom and walk in shower. Next door, the Red Suite, our Master Suite, with double size mattress and en-suite deluxe marble bathroom with walk in shower. The third and final bedroom, the Green Suite, also has a double bed and en-suite luxury marble bathroom and walk in shower.
The most wonderful feature is that four of the property's beautiful windows look out directly onto the Vasari Corridor and Boboli Gardens. Indeed, the apartment is very centrally located making it the perfect base to explore Florence, yet at the same time the apartment will provide you with a feeling of having escaped the frenetic city as you look across onto the beautiful and peaceful gardens.
Relive the atmosphere of the 1950's thanks to a very special renovation of the impressive G9 Vasari View, through its designer furniture (many items will have been crafted by famous architects of that period of time), fabrics, textiles and the materials chosen which represent that era, all of course which entwine perfectly with the utmost modern amenities and commodities. Amenities at this luxury apartment to rent in Florence include air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a washing machine/dryer, ironing facilities and a hairdryer.
The Vasari Corridor is an elevated enclosed passageway which connects Palazzo Vecchio with the Palazzo Pitti, commissioned by order of Duke Cosimo I de' Medici in 1565 during the Renaissance, to the design of Giorgio Vasari and built in just five months. The passageway would allow the Medici family to move freely and undetected between the Palazzo Pitti and the government palace (Palazzo Vecchio), when, like most monarchs of the period, the family felt insecurity moving around in the public!
Neighborhood:
The apartment represents the most perfect location for easy access to many of the city's museums, churches and art galleries and is in the heart of Florence’s artisan neighborhood, home to skilled local craftsmen and fascinating workshops excelling in leather work, jewellery, made-to measure shoes, marbled paper and other custom goods and services.
Within the area, in easy walking distance, you will find an abundance of trendy restaurants, highly rated gelaterias, quaint wine bars, charming cafes’ and traditional eateries and osterias, not to mention glitzy wine bars and gourmet bistros- Several supermarkets, grocery stores and other independent retailers are also within very close walking distance.
