First of all the communication with the host was non existent. First red flag. When I got to the property I was in complete shock. The windows aren’t sealed shut which is a huge safety concern. The furniture wasn’t the same as in the pictures and what was there was covered in stains. The carpet was covered in stains in every room. Doors were coming off cabinets pictures were coming off the walls. The tvs do not work. The mattresses were stained. There was mold in the bathtubs and multiple bottles of shampoo from previous guests. The toilet seat was broken. The oven was dirty. This property is filthy and a huge safety concern. I decided not to stay. I contacted the host and still have not heard back. I contacted VRBO they did absolutely nothing. In addition after contacting my credit card I was informed that the property owner was trying to charge my card a second time. This property is a scam. Beware. I have over 50 photos that I submitted and it was determined by VRBO that it was simple wear and tear. This company is completely unprofessional and have no ethics. I would not recommend this property or using VRBO. Get yourself a hotel. There are all these rules and regulations that protect the property owner but nothing to protect you.

Capitol Hill Location *****

My husband, my sister inlaw and I visited DC to see our nephew, and sightsee. Sister in law is very familar with DC. This Capitol Hill location is more than 5 Stars. We were so close to the Capitol and the Mall. We walked everywhere. Very good sized and quiet. Other 5 star points: Jimmy T's breakfast on the corner. We went every day. Market one block away. Great Shower. Large unit. Family neighborhood. We also walked to the Metro Station. When we needed parking for our nephew, he always found a spot very close.

Nice but…

The best things about this vacation rental are the location, comfortable beds and the size of the unit. Unfortunately pictures can be misleading. Some of the furniture in the dining/living area has been replaced and the replacement furniture isn’t comfortable and in need of repair. The refrigerator leaked water on the top shelf and sounded like it was ready to break down. The towel racks in both bathrooms were missing/broken. The inflatable mattress leaked air before we even got to sleep on it and the couch was definitely not comfortable or sturdy enough to sleep on. There were no instructions how to use the tv and as it turns out the little cable to make it work was tucked away inside a drawer in the kitchen. The unit needs some attention/maintenance as it definitely has the potential to be a great rental.

Great spot, bring earplugs

We absolutely loved this VRBO. It was in good shape, a great size and the location can not be beat for sure. If you stay, make sure you walk to Jimmy Ts on the corner for some corned beef hash. They make you feel at home. Parking is tricky, but doable with some pre-planning. Down side, the upstairs residents. I was in DC to bury my father at Arrington. Our first night there was a Wednesday. They vacuumed, hammered, drilled (i dont know) until almost 2 am right over the master bedroom. It started again at 6 am. I never slept more than 4-5 hours a night the time i was there, if that. This was the one and only issue we had, but it was past the point of being what seemed incidental noise. We definitely felt as though the residents upstairs did not want VRBO renters downstairs. So, my take is, its a wonderful spot, the unit is amazing and the company who rented it was great. Bring some earplugs and enjoy.

Fantastic location with plenty of space in the unit

We enjoyed our stay at Walk to The Capitol DC. The location cannot be beat with its easy access to Capitol Hill, Union Station, the Mall, etc.. The street that the apartment is located on is beautiful and safe, and we had plenty of room for our family.
