The Space:
Tucked-in at the end of the road in Wisconsin's Last Wilderness, you'll find this cozy family fish camp just waiting to be filled with memories. Big Oxbow Lake is a beautiful 523-acre, all-sports northern Wisconsin lake. Known for its scenic beauty and interesting structure with bays and nine islands to explore, it's a paddling paradise. Camp Koie is located at the tip of a peninsula ensuring privacy both at the firepit area and along the lakefront, including the dock. You won't see any neighbors in these spots, making it an ideal destination for those seeking solitude and connecting with the natural world.
May through September enjoy beautiful Oxbow Lake from the large lake day dock. Begin your day by heading to the dock for an early morning sunrise while lounging on the many provided dock chairs. As the day heats up, enjoy the provided Paddle North utility dock, two kayaks, two canoes, a rowboat, a Paddle North inflatable paddleboard, and even a small sailboat. Your lake day gets capped off with front rows seats to a Northwoods sunset.
Fishing is a year-round activity in northern Wisconsin and the Camp comes equipped with fishing poles for both warm-weather angling and ice fishing.
Nordic skiers and snowshoers can enjoy the numerous cross-country trails nearby including the popular WinMan trails (Winchester) or ABR trails (Ironwood). Alpine skiers can head north to UP resorts such as Snowriver and Big Powderhorn - a quick 30 minute drive away.
Upon entering, you'll be greeted by the inviting ambiance that pervades the living space. Unwind and relax on the plush furnishings, stream your favorite programs on the TV, or savor a home-cooked meal together in the homey kitchen. Everything thing was great. Beautiful place. Great contact with host. Our snowmobile trailer was to long for the parking. So i would make sure that was in a more prominent place on the description. But loved it!
Presque Isle is a beautiful place to visit and stay. We were new to the area and enjoyed the snowmobile trails surrounding the area. The house we stayed in was perfect and very clean and comfortable. Thank you!
What a great stay! From the moment we booked this trip until we checked out the service was nothing short of excellent. To start, the host was able to answer all my questions promptly to ensure a smooth check-in/stay. Instructions at the cabin were very clear about check out. The amenities were amazing and we really appreciated the extra thought that was given for our dogs. Would most definitely stay again!!
In this quiet location at the end of the road, this cabin was perfect for our family of four to escape from the city. We enjoyed the open concept kitchen and living area. A nice breeze spread thought large windows in front and back of the cabin. Oxbow lake as viewed from the pier down the hill from the cabin, where I sat in the morning, was as smooth as glass. We had perfect views of the sunrise and sunsets. We could see a loon family on the lake every day and hear them singing. My family loved spending time on the canoe, kayaks and paddle board and swimming raft that were provided!
Beautiful lakefront property with nice dock, firepit area and open concept living inside. Very much appreciated the rental being pet-friendly. Property management was open and communicative. The only items I wish I knew more about was the steepness of the driveway, which made parking a truck and boat trailer difficult. Also, as avid fisherman, the lake seemed void of life, only catching a few fish in the evening and very small fish at that. We came to find out later in our stay that this was one of the lakes that Native Americans fish extensively for walleye and musky in the spring. Love the area, the lake, the home, but will not come back to fish the area again.
