The cabin was perfect for a short weekend trip. We loved the rustic setting. It had everything we needed. The fire pit was just up the hill and we had a good relaxing evening the first night grilling steaks and sitting by the fire. We saw deer, squirrels, and lots of birds. A great little retreat.

Relaxing weekend stay

My family enjoyed our stay at the cabin including having access to the river for morning coffee and playing board games in the evening after a day of tubing. The drive to the cabin was beautiful with lots of deer sightings.

Responsive and welcoming host. Great house. Beautiful scenery. Peaceful. Had all the basics to cook, relax, stay as warm as possible given how cold it was. :-)

Mossy Rock Cabin is a comfortable, well equipped cabin, perfectly located to explore the historic towns of Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown. The interior of cabin has been tastefully updated, using thoughtfully selected materials, fixtures and furnishings. The internet works well, including streaming video. The cabin is a short walk from access to a pleasant, calm stretch of the Potomac River, ideal for easy kayaking. From booking to departure, communication with the hosts has been excellent, and they get high marks for addressing an air conditioning problem in less than an hour. I can highly recommend Mossy Rock Cabin for anyone who wants a base for hiking, including the C&O Canal on the Maryland side, exploring a beautiful and historic part of West Virginia, or just relaxing.

The cabin is down right beautiful, the host were easy to contact and took care of all our needs. The wife and I enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch and enjoyed all the wildlife, I haven't seen so many deer in my life. We will definitely book again in the future.
