My cousin and I, 64 and 65, stayed here. She lives nearby, I live in Georgia after growing up nearby. We had no issues with communication with host, cleanliness, location or check in process. I did not read the entire listing and reviews as completely as I should have. Less than hour before I checked in, host texted to say people were renting lower level. At least four big, burly men. Loud men who seemed to shout instead of talk and did so at the same time. There is a 10 p.m. for noise curfew. They were foreign and spoke in a foreign language so unsure if they were aware of that rule since it was loud up to and well past 10. I did text host but it did no good. There was a lot of banging, knocking, loud noises. We were apprehensive the entire time, being two females alone with at least four men below. Then I got a text that they were cold and could I turn up the thermostat. We were away at dinner so I did when we got home, first to 68, then he asked to turn up some more. I turned to 71 and my cousin and I sweated the rest of the evening, it was awful. At bedtime, we stumbled upon a closet with board games we could have enjoyed and two fans! We each took a fan for that last night but never played the games. So, look for all this if you decide to rent, especially the games, if you get bored! We never opened doors we didn’t need to. If people are in lower level, you WILL hear them. And you are in charge of thermostat. If I’d known even one of these details, I’d have never rented.

Girls weekend
The house is in a nice, quiet neighborhood and was pretty clean. They were great to work with me when i needed to change the date. Day of arrival communication was lacking. I messaged earlier in the week and the owner stated they would send it the day of. Which was understandable to me. Day of, I messaged the owner to let them know i had still not received any info. Check in is at 4pm, so by 3:30 we figured we'd drive to the house to make sure we knew where we were going. There was a man shoveling the driveway. We decided to run up the road and try again to reach owners, we waited until exactly 4. After still not hearing anything, we go back to the house and i speak to the man now shoveling the back driveway. He tells me the code to enter, which was slightly concerning. Vrbo got in touch with the owners and connected us. Upon entering the house, I realized one of the bedrooms had blinds that are broken half way up the window and nothing covering the rest. We take a blanket to cover the window. 2 of the 3 bedrooms were nice. We understood that another family was renting the lower half of the house and that was fine. We could hear their entire conversations, one of the bedrooms could hear the man snoring at night. The whole house shares one thermostat, so anytime they were cold on the lower level we received messages asking us to adjust the thermostat. The owners were nice, but I wish Id known more info I suppose.
The rental was spacious and located in a quiet neighborhood about 10 minutes from everything we needed and was easy to locate. The front door must be opened with two hands always due to the locks, which can be difficult at times. Many of the dishes and cookware items were dirty, so we had to clean them prior to use. The showers could also use some deep cleaning. There was only one trash bag available for the whole home (that we could locate) which was fine for the weekend stay, but even just one extra would have been nice to have as a courtesy. If anyone stayed in the rental in the basement it was not noticeable. Check in/out was easy to understand, no issues there. Hosts were responsive and checked in to ensure arrival went smoothly which was a plus. Overall it worked for the wekekend trip, but could use some improvements on cleanliness.
