Luxurious 2 bed - 2.5 bath, ski in - out, slopeside, rental town house / ski lodge

Full home comforts in a relaxed and spacious ski home set in the Rocky Mountains, just one hour drive from both Bozeman and West Yellowstone, Montana

This is one of two prime located Saddle Ridge units, just one door apart from each other (rent both if you are a large group or come with another family) collectively known as Casa Moonlight, Big Sky, Montana, Ski Resort

This Montana vacation rental is on Saddle Ridge at 8,000 feet above sea level between two of the most spectacular ski resorts in the West: Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin.

No other alpine ski area in the U.S. offers what the interconnected slopes of Big Sky Resort and Moonlight Basin do - extraordinary SKI - IN, SKI - OUT opportunities, among the highest vertical drops for groomed skiing in the U.S. (including hike-to terrain), world-class recreation year-round, and superb amenities and services.

Ski right out the back door and onto the Pony Express Run or to the Iron Horse Lift and you have access to over 5,250 lift-served acres of world-class alpine skiing.

Located on the warm southern facing elevated ridge that lies between the Moonlight and the Big Sky ski area, with panoramic views on all sides, Casa Moonlight is directly above the Iron Horse and Pony Express lifts which access both the Moonlight and the Big Ski base area and the mountains beyond. You can ski back to Casa Moonlight from both Big Sky and Moonlight basin ski areas.

Skiing and boarding are the main winter activities. There is ample lift serviced terrain in the 2 resorts, but if you feel the need to venture further, various back country options are available .

Summer activities in Big Sky fall into two main categories. Those organised by the resort, including Lone Peak Expeditions, Adventure Zip-line Tours, Climbing Walls etc and those to be found in the greater South West Montana area including Fishing and Rafting on the Gallatin, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Golf and of course all that Yellowstone Park ( nearest boundary - half an hour away) and West Yellowstone (just over an hour away) have to offer.

Casa Moonlight is a recently renovated log fronted three storey town house with a floor area of approximately 1,800 square feet in the Saddle Ridge development of the Moonlight Basin, Big Sky, commanding panoramic and unobstructed views of Lone Peak and the Big Sky and Moonlight Basin Ski Area

The new owners, who divide their time between Chile, Thailand and Montana, live in a nearby home and will personally manage your stay at Casa Moonlight throughout the ski season.

Ski Right Out the Back Door!

Casa Moonlight is approximately 1,800 square feet, has 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, and sleeps up to 7 adults. This Montana ski-in ski-out vacation condo is a luxury accommodation in every respect:

There are slate floors in the entry, bathrooms and kitchen. The vacation rental custom furniture is made out of Ponderosa Pine. This Montana condo is filled with unique western art, but the unforgettable views from all the rooms, make this vacation home a place to remember.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, flatware and utensils.

Casa Moonlight is located 45 miles from Bozeman Airport (BZN).

Perfect Big Sky Retreat

We love the ski-in/ski-out feature of the property. In the summer you can walk out your door to hike around in the beauty of mountains. It's the perfect layout for families or couples. Ample space and very cozy!

Excellent location

Overall a great experience. You can’t beat strapping in 100 feet from your front door and hopping on the lift. Plenty of parking, nice additional amenities (humidifiers, extra heaters, other appliances), and very well suited for winter time skiing. Would recommend.

Perfect week at Big Sky

This was our best location ever in the Saddle Ridge condos - close to the lodge, and easy ski in/ ski out direct to the Iron Horse lift. Best appointed kitchen in a condo ever: crock pot, rice cooker, lots of good pots and pans, outdoor grill, etc. very comfortable!

Perfect Location!

I don’t know if William sent the snow for us- but it snowed every day and the location of Casa Moonlight was perfect to hit the mountain early and even come back to midday if necessary. Our pre-check in booklet with area recommendations was greatly appreciated and went above and beyond! Thank you! We can’t wait to stay again!

A Perfect Location

Located in close proximity to a lift and the Moonlight Tavern, a perfect location for maximizing your time on the slopes while enjoying high-end amenities, fewer crowds and great food/wine. I have rented this location a couple of times now and it is a thoroughly pleasant experience from the inquiry through to our stay. Very professional, well maintained and has great views of the mountain and New Year's Eve fireworks! We'll be back!

Saddle Ridge

This property was perfect, for a two week stay in late March and early April. Lots of room for the two of us, would be great for two couples. A ski in ski out location with a great view and steps from the Moonlight Lodge. Easy drive to fish the Gallatin and dine at the restaurants in Big Sky meadow village. The unit is well equipped and William was excellent and quick in all our communications. You will not want to pack up and leave! We plan to return.

Beautiful and Convenient

The Condo was convenient to both Big Sky and Moonlight sides. It was extremely well stocked with cookware and the kitchen was well designed. I like the bedrooms up and down as they provided lots of privacy from the living area. The entrance way is well suited for skiers to leave boots, coats. And there is a rack outside to hang skis. It was indeed ski in/out and even the 5 and 6 yr-olds managed it. Being able to have lunch there was a tremendous savings. I would rent this property again and recommend it to anyone needing a place to stay at Big Sky.

Saddle Ridge

This property was perfect for a summer get away! We stayed for 4 nights between visiting with our daughter in Great Falls and heading to Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks. It was wonderful for a little down time, as well as getting us acclimated to the altitude (we are at sea level). The unit is well equipped with pretty much everything you could ask for in a kitchen & a large gas grill. As a matter of fact, we cooked in every night! The scenery is beautiful, the mountain air refreshing, and plenty to do in the summer time. Wonderful hiking trails in Moonlight Basin as well as a short drive down to Ousel Falls trail. William was quick to respond to any questions and very easy to work with.

Spring Break Ski Trip

Lucked out with some amazing late season snow at Big Sky. Almost the entire resort was open with no lift lines. Skied for most of the week and did not hit a single icy patch. Home was super convenient ski in/out. Would literally sit in the hot tub each night, sipping coffee and looking at Lone Mountain peak as sun set. My boys (16, 15 and 13) said it was the best ski trip we have taken. House was very well appointed with all the kitchen cookware and gadgets we needed to eat most of our meals at home. Did splurge one night at the Lone Peak Ranch. Awesome meal but it was not cheap. Would definitely come back again.

Spring Skiing 2021

The location of the property was great. ski in/out was perfect. The only issues with the property were one of the door wall mini blinds was broken and would not stay raised. I had to temporarily fix it to make is stay raised. Also, 2 of the 4 burners on the stove would not lighte. Nor woudl the propane grill on deck. Other than that the furniture was clean and very functional. The washer and dryer functioned well. The hot tub was great for after skiiing.

2nd time was just as good!

This is our 2nd year to book Casa Moonlight One and we had yet another wonderful trip to Montana. Our family of 6 packed in carry-ons this time and it was a breeze getting through the airport - would highly recommend this! We emailed the Albertson's in Belgrade, MT, near the airport and was able to do a grocery order for pick up - also highly recommend this! We always rent a SUV from Journey Rent-a-Car and book our ski lift tickets and ski school in advance and then use our Boyne rewards towards our equipment rental. Those are my travel tips for Big Sky... Condo wise - owner and property manger were super nice and prompt in their responses to my questions. We had ample paper towels, laundry soap, toilet paper, dish soap, dishwasher soap and kleenex which were much appreciated. We brought our own toiletries or bought them on the way and it worked great! We used the grill and cooked every meal in the condo - super convenient and nice to be able to come back to relax a bit and eat before going back out. The hot tub was so relaxing after a day's worth of skiing and the kiddos frolicked in the snow, sledding and building a snowman. I would recommend this condo without hesitation! Ski in/ski out - you hike with your gear about 50 ft and then put your skis on and go to either the pony express or iron horse lifts. The mountain is beautiful, the powder incredible and there's just no other place we'd rather be skiing ever again! Thanks for a wonderful trip! Our youngest boys took ski lessons half-day and our older girls skied with us. So. much. fun. It is always our favorite family vacation. Thanks so much for the awesome memories! Looking forward to doing it again soon!

Location is the best

If having the best location then this is the perfect condo. If quality of linens and kitchen amenities matter then you might not be satisfied. The listing says newly renovated; and I think that is a stretch. It might have been renovated about five years ago or better. It did have all the basics you could need, it just needs some maintenance. Humidifiers did not work and we had to replace some of the light bulbs. Little things, but for the price you pay I expect more.

Cool Spot

Location is amazing and wonderful views. Advertisement was accurate. A few simple little updates here and there could really tie this place in. 8 people would be to tight here. 6 would be comfortable. We had 8 planned and Fortunately 4 had to back out so having it to just us 4 was really ideal. We would absolutely stay here again

Perfect ski in/ski out

This is our group’s third year staying at Big Sky. In the past we have stayed at one of the properties affiliated with the resort. We absolutely loved staying at this location with such easy access to our favorite runs on Moonlight side. Having a full kitchen was a plus as well. The cabin had plenty of space for our group of two couples plus two friends. We would absolutely stay here again.

Location perfection

Casa Moonlight is in the perfect location to enjoy ski in/ski out. Our family enjoyed the hot tub after a day on the slopes, made great meals in the kitchen, and the conditions were perfect! Casa Moonlight could use some furniture updates and more kid friendly kitchen utensils but overall enjoyed our stay.

About the host

Hosted by William Casa Moonlight

Host profile image
My wife (Thai) and I (British) are semi retired and now divide our time between homes in Phuket, Thailand (our previous home/business base) and now, chasing the snow, in Big Sky Montana and Farellones, Chile.

Why they chose this property

Quite simply Big Sky is the best, largest and least crowded lift serviced skiing in north America. We had been visiting (and renting - mainly in Saddle Ridge) for extended stays for 5 years - and then in late 2009 found prices had become affordable, so purchased our first home in Big Sky. Then in 2011 with a little spare cash to invest decided Big Sky was still a great location for another property investment.

What makes this property unique

The space and the peace and quiet. Yet all this with true ski in ski-out access to both Big Sky and Moonlight.
