About this property
Escape to the countryside and relax! Many varied attractions nearby for all.
Nestled on 23 acres of land that run adjacent to the Welland river is an updated 3000 sq. ft. century old farmhouse that is ready to become your family's favourite get-away. During the summer months, a seasonal room is available with a king bed and the farmhouse can comfortably sleep 13 people. The seasonal room is closed in the winter months.
The farm is located south of the Twenty Valley Wine Country and there are a variety of wine tour companies that will pick up your parties at the farm and will drop you off following a lovely day of wine tasting. If you prefer more nature than wine, there are many beautiful parks and a sandy beach on Lake Erie only a short drive away...and the infamous Niagara Falls and all of its attractions are only a 35 minute drive away.
Plenty of sleeping spaces can be found in the four upstairs bedrooms. A king size bed and a four piece ensuite are found in the large master bedroom; an adjacent bedroom has two bunk beds that can sleep four to six; a queen bed is found in the third spacious bedroom and in the fourth bedroom has a king bed. A three piece bathroom is also located on the upper floor. On the main floor, a king bed is tucked privately away and additional sleeping spaces can be found on a comfortable pull out sofa that is in a quiet sitting room and on the comfortable couches in the family room. A third spacious bathroom is located on the main floor and is equipped with a shower. Multiple eating spaces can be found between the kitchen and the dining room, which has three patio doors facing the river. The large family room has a large Smart TV, Blu-ray player and a big and varied selection of DVDs. There are multiple games for the family to enjoy as well as a selection of children and adult books and puzzles. A large in-ground pool and a hot tub are two of the extra amenities that will make your retreat memorable. The kitchen is stocked with almost anything you would need during your stay. Crock pot, punch bowl, serving trays, serving bowls and bakeware are just some of the extras besides the multitude of plates, glassware and cutlery provided. There a few pantry staples, herbs and spices, and condiments provided. A 10 acre forest is located on the south end of the property with well-appointed walking trails and a charming little shack. Several kayaks and a canoe are available for use in the river that runs along the length of the property. A BBQ with propane and some firewood is provided. An 18 hole golf course and a family diner are in walking distance of the property. Dogs are allowed, but a pet fee does apply :)

About the host
Hosted by Lindy
I am an advanced care paramedic in the Niagara Region and love animals and being outdoors. I was raised in a small village of 350 people, I enjoyed years of living in a city and it's nearby amenities, but in the end, the serenity of the countryside won my heart.
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with this property before it was even listed. I remember the sunlight hitting the big old red barn on the property and thinking how I would love to get pictures taken there. I bought the farm and it has been the family gathering place ever since.
What makes this property unique
I am a dedicated bird feeder, so if you love birds, you'll be guaranteed to have some fun sightings! This spring we have had LOTS of activity: indigo buntings, baltimore orioles, hummingbirds, yellow finches by the dozen, cardinals, red-winged blackbirds, chickadees, a variety of woodpeckers, blue jays, grosbeaks, mourning doves, nuthatches, juncos (winter regulars) as well as turkey vultures and bluebirds nesting on the property. The occassional hoot can also be heard by a pair of Great Horned Owls.
