The property was conveniently located near the beach. We loved the area. It is very family oriented. The property was clean and the property company was responsive with the minor issues that we found.

The property and location were great! Definitely would stay here again. Some of the dishes were a bit dirty when we got to the house but other than that our stay was great.

Enjoyed our stay

Overall the house is nice. Short walk to the beach. Short drive to restaurants and activities. I think the company that owns this house shouldn't charge for towels and have supplies on site like paper towels and toilet paper like every other VRBO house I've stayed in.

Great location, needs better cleaning

Location was great and the house itself was a good layout for our family. Couldnt of got a better location for first time OBX visitors. Cleanliness upon arrival was very disappointing. A lot of dog hair, grease in stove knobs and stovetop. Luckily we brought our cordless shark vacuum and did some cleaning. We left it in amazing shape in comparison. I just hope they get a better cleaning crew out there.

Great House in a Quiet Neighborhood

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A beautifully appointed house, all the comforts of home in a quiet (year round type) of neighborhood. We strayed on a holiday weekend and were pleasantly surprised that all neighbors were respectful of one another. Living in a NJ shore neighborhood we are used to a noisier weekend crowd, but this place was great. Walk to the beach or short drive to fishing pier. Only complaint was that there was no blow dryer (unusual) so I had to go buy one, but there are plenty of stores nearby. Love the OBX and this house was a treasure.

Nice house but needs a little TLC

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Deck could use some TLC as there were nails and screws sticking up everywhere. Wood gave the kids splinters and stain was flaking off. Washer looked new but washed clothes very poorly. Grass was a foot high until Wednesday.Overall, it was a good experience and we had an enjoyable week

Bad experience property management

The house was ok, but it was a nightmare dealing with the property management company, carolina shores. They would send emails saying the stay was canceled and when I would reply, they wouldnt respond. This happened at least 2x. More specifically, they would send emails related to charging my card and stated no response was needed so i didnt respond, then i would get an email saying the stay was canceled. I would call them and they were unprofessional and would deny things happened. They also didnt respond to emails.

This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide. I have pulled all the notes from your reservation and not one time did we cancel your booking or aim to do so. We did try to call to confirm your booking on 2/19, however we could not leave you a message due to your voicemail was not set up. We did process your payment on 2/20 and then called you on 3/2, 3/4, 3/8 and 4/7 as we needed your signed lease. We did receive your signed lease on the afternoon of 4/7. Again I am not sure where the cancellation emails you are referring to came from as our records do not show your booking was ever cancelled. We sincerely apologize for any stress this caused and appreciate you taking the time to let us know. Thank you again for your feedback.

The location was perfect — tucked away in a quiet area — and we even appreciated the shade trees around the house, which helped keep things cooler inside. The beach is an easy walk or quick ride, making it super convenient.One detail that really stood out (and renters will understand this!) is that the vacuum actually worked — unlike many homes we’ve rented in the past.The kitchen was well stocked but not overstocked, which I really appreciated. There was plenty of space in the cabinets for the items I brought, so nothing had to be left cluttering the countertops. The washer and dryer were also impressive — I may even look into getting the same model for my home someday!Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were great, and the TVs all worked without a hitch. If I had to name a couple of small things the house could use, it would be a cheese grater (we bought one and left it) and maybe some pot holders, though I was able to make do.The outdoor shower was wonderful after a beach day, though more lighting out there would make it easier to use after dark.Overall, this house was a fantastic find. I’d love to stay here every time we come down, though our trips are usually planned at the last minute.

Our week stay

My family and I stayed for a week at this property. It was a mixed bag for us which I’ve broken down below. Check in was smooth and easy. Honestly the easiest of anywhere I’ve stayed in the past. Location is great! Was very easy to get to from anywhere we travelled to including the beach. When we arrived to the property however it seemed no one cleaned it recently. Our pets had found loads of bottles, freeze pop wrappers, bottle caps, a half eaten protein bar, hair ties and even a tooth brush during our trip. Luckily it seemed like they didn’t eat anything they shouldn’t have but that much trash was off putting when we were told the property was inspected prior to check-in. Also, it seemed none of the rooms had been swept recently. Both coffee devices had brewed coffee grinds in them upon arrival. Admittedly, we didn’t initially see to call for emergency cleaning should we see these things, but there was a lot of paperwork and signage at the property so it got lost. The office staff did say that would we have called they would have had someone out quickly. Something to note that is something of a first is the property owners don’t offer any kind of towels for your stay. For showers or even hand towels, so expect to run to TJ max or target for towels. Something like this is pretty inconvenient for a property that has onsite washers and dryers and expects you to remove sheets. Overall, we would not stay here again.

But, could have been cleaner. Floors were obviously not cleaned, countertops were not wiped down either. Crumbs all over the couch, other dog toys under the couch. Just needs a legit cleaning and it’ll be fine. We also got yelled at by the neighbor for having the garbage pale out at the street too early, even though we were not the ones to do that.

OK Cottage Lousy location

Reviewer Comments: Picture is deceiving...located on a cul-de-cas with a bunch of other houses...not near the beach at all. Place was filthy..dust and hair behind the furniture,old hair ties next to the bathroom vanity, no extra toilet paper/paper towels, no cleaning supplies, no extra dish liquid, no scrubbers for pans, no bath mats. Seems like for the price I paid for the week, I shouldn't have had to go buy anything!

Janet , I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at A Wave From It All. I am sorry that you found the website deceiving but it clearly states "Located in a quiet cul-de-sac and only 1400 feet to a lifeguarded beach " We are implementing new training and procedures in the housekeeping department. We also give the gift bag to our guest at check in that has some of the the items that you mentioned. If you were a late check in we deliver the gift bag the next day.

The place was comfortable and well located however it could use more cleaning. The bathrooms were not very clean, also there was dust all over. However the kitchen was fine and bedrooms. The outdoor shower was great, we used it all the time.
