About this property

Exotic Escape to Rainforest Home with Pool, Gated, <10 Min To Beach, WiFi/AC

Nestled in a true wildlife sanctuary, Kiskadee Casa is a 3 bedroom home that offers quiet seclusion within Manuel Antonio Estates-- one of the most accessible and beautiful gated communities in the area. This gem is situated just minutes away from downtown Quepos, the white sand beaches of the Manuel Antonio National Park, and the new world-class Marina Pez Vela. The quality of the building materials and the detailed workmanship of Kiskadee Casa is exquisite. Imported Italian tiles, wooden French doors with ornate stained glass panels leading to the master bedroom, a spacious, elegant master bathroom, and the local hardwood finishes are just a few of the incredible features. Because of its location at the end of the cul-de-sac, the house enjoys privacy, as well as safety, with 24 hour security. The three comfortable bedrooms can easily accommodate 4 - 6 residents. Each bedroom is equipped with its own quiet AC unit with remote control. Why rent two or three hotel rooms, when you can rent an entire, family-friendly house for the price of one hotel room? With a full kitchen and a gas grill, feel free to take advantage of the local markets, including the farmers market on Saturdays, to prepare your own meals with fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables and freshly caught fish, or have our concierge book a chef to cook while you sit back and relax. Or, just outside the estates you will find an abundant variety of restaurants from casual, ethnic, and al fresco, to 4 & 5-star gourmet dining with beautiful ocean views.

Kiskadee Casa is ideal for families who love the surroundings of the lush rain forest and can’t get enough of the pure sounds of the jungle. Step outside and be entertained by visitors such as bright, colorful toucans and macaws, playful monkeys and adorable sloths. Fruit trees and flowers are abundant on the property. Relax on the balcony in our hammock chairs that covert to full hammocks. Keep cool in our new pool and be on the lookout for sloths in the trees nearby. Green areas cover a large portion of the estates with 5 km of hiking trails with small creeks and waterfalls. Have our concierge book a dreamy massage at the house or at a spa. In to yoga or pilates? He can arrange sessions for you.

There is so much to do in this area, plan to spend at least 5 nights with us. Our friendly and knowledgeable concierge will help you plan and book all your tours and transportation. With various modes of transportation easily accessible, you can enjoy a multitude of exciting activities in the area including zip-lining, whale and dolphin watching, boating, para-sailing, bird watching, eco-tourism, tennis, golf, and huge, wild crocodiles at Carrara National Park, just to name a few. Not only are there tours of the park but many other local tours for which pick up can be arranged. Recommended examples are Damas Island, a canopy tour in Rainmaker Park where you can swim and stand under a waterfall, Horseback tour to waterfall, Night-time Jungle tour.

Day trips can, also, be arranged from Kiskadee Casa for snorkeling at Caño Island, whale and dolphin watching, Corcovado National Park, and other exciting tours leaving from Marino Bellena National Park.

Shuttle or bus service is available to and from San Jose airport. One could rent a car at the airport and drive approximately 3.5 hours to Quepos/Manuel Antonio on good roads or fly Nature Air from San Jose to Quepos and arrange for car rental after arrival at one of the local agencies. Flights take about 25 minutes. Or choose to use local shuttle or taxi service once you arrive.

Here is a quote from Forbes Magazine about Manuel Antonio Park: “Here is a stunning combination of beaches and coral reefs, perfect for snorkeling and exploring the area’s famous tangle of mangroves. Rainforest jungles remain untouched habitats for Brown-throated Three-toed Sloths, iguanas, Central American squirrel monkeys and birds of extraordinary colors. One of Costa Rica’s smallest national parks, Manuel Antonio is nevertheless one of its most popular, with activities ranging from white-water rafting and sea kayaking to horseback riding on one of the park’s four beaches.”

From Broadwayworld: “Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, has had its debut, and is now becoming one of the top 'boutique' travel destinations in the world. Forbes called Manuel Antonio National Park one of the '12 Most Beautiful National Parks of the World'.

Costa Rica is fast becoming one of the top vacation spots for families. Manuel Antonio has much to offer including beautiful white sand beaches, calm waters, kid-friendly tours, National Park, and abundant, exotic wildlife. Kiskadee Casa is a budget-savvy, tropical rain forest oasis just minutes from all that Manuel Antonio has to offer. Enjoy your stay. Pura vida.

Best rental ever!

We will be back!! Perfect location for all our day trips. We felt like we were in a tree house. We used the pool everyday. We saw monkeys, iguanas, and plenty of birds. The house had everything we needed.

Jungle Living

This house is a great value! The location is great with many types of wildlife experienced while sitting on the back porch. You are within walking distance of the city of Quepos, but beware of the massive hill that you have to climb to return home. My only complaint would be that there is really no where to lounge around the pool. There was only a chair and table with no where to stretch out and enjoy the poolside. An upgrade to the patio furniture would be nice as well. There is so much to see from the porch, but not great seating out there. Overall, we loved this place and had a great 10 days in Costa Rica! Thanks for sharing your home!

Pool in the sky

My family and I stayed here for 3-nights in the Manuel Antonio area. Johan, the host/manager was super helpful and responsive. The house was comfortable, clean, well appointed, quiet and in a very charming, safe vacation home community with 24 hour gated security. The location a short distance to Manuel Antonio was ideal. Highlights for our family were for sure swimming in the pool which felt like you were swimming in the tree tops. Very serene. The views of the mountains in the distance were also stunning. And getting to watch the capuchin monkeys scramble around the trees was a family favorite. The house was comfortable, but an airconditioning unit in the living room would have helped a bit. Also, this is less about the house and more a practical tip about CR in general. Try to get where you are going before nightfall (5:45). Even though you are in a neighborhood the property is nestled into a steep set of hills, and like most areas in CR lighting is limited. Arriving after dark can present some challenges, but Johan was responsive and helpful.

Amazing

This beautiful house and location exceeded our expectations! The first morning, 4 or 5 monkeys visited us on the balcony... just passed by on the railing as if on their morning commute :). The jungle sounds were amazing, like an ongoing symphony. Johan (the property manager) was very responsive. When we discovered the bbq propane tank was empty, he replaced it asap. We had a rental car, so didn't have to worry about walking up the lane, which isn't for the faint of heart! One warning would be that if you have a toddler you have to be very vigilant when outdoors, even on the balcony. As you can see in the pictures, the railing is open between slats. We could only let our grandson play freely indoors. Close to many parks, beaches and excursions. We had a wonderful time!

Wonderful Stay in Quepos

Casa Kiskadee

The property was adequate since we were not spending much time at the property. I do feel the listing should be updated to be very clear that the downstairs room is not able to be accessed via the rest of the house without going outside. I did not really love having my two children have to stay down there alone. We could not find a remote for the tv and could not get it to come on the whole stay. The upstairs shower did not have any soap in the dispensers. The upstairs master bedroom needs new pillows. They are so flat it’s like laying on a bare mattress. The location is amazing and we enjoyed the porch and listening to the sounds of nature.

Truly up high

Location was great-as described. Difficult to find at night. This wasn’t our plan but terrible traffic delays on our way from Liberia airport! Great wildlife, however, construction next door was from 6:30 am to 5pm everyday. We left for various adventures but the noise was distracting from the peaceful surroundings. Overall it was a great experience. We did wish there were more specific details about the stove, tv and places in the area. We like to explore but traffic and parking is an issue. It’s been 10 years since we visited Quepos and it’s really gotten much bigger! We did have to contact the owner about the washer and he was quick to respond and get it fixed. Very appreciative of the prompt replies😊

Great private house in the jungle

This is a very cool and unique property. The owner and caretaker were responsive. Lots of wildlife and privacy. Close to the national park. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The house was very comfortable with individual air conditioning units in the rooms. The kitchen was well stocked.

Great Sister's Time

We loved being in the Jungle of Manuel Antonio in a lovely "tree house" type living. Lots of windows and decks to enjoy the abundant wildlife and fauna. We decided to get private transportation from the airport directly to the house. It's about 3 1/2 hours. Then we walked everywhere in Quepos and used the $1 a ride bus for the area. And all of the activities that we did had pick up at the gate of the neighborhood included in the price, so it was perfect for us. The driveway is very steep, but we looked at it as a challenge for we three 60 and over women. We've already booked for next year.

Pleasant stay!

Our stay at Casa Kiskadee was fantastic. The place was clean and located in an amazing location, literally nestled in the forest. We had an opportunity to see many animals, especially a whole troop of squirrel monkeys that came through the trees and on our porch in the afternoon. Having the laundry room with adequate supplies was great. Communication with the concierge was very good. Overall we loved our stay here.

Secluded among the trees

Really enjoyed our stay here. We were looking for a place with some privacy that was among the jungle. Family enjoyed swimming in the pool while monkeys and other wildlife were in the trees above. Loved all the windows to see out in to the trees. The owner was great to deal with and went the extra mile to resolve a payment issue. The onsite host, Johan, was very responsive twice quickly coming by to help with minor maintenance issues. Great place to stay.

Saw more monkeys here than Antonio Manuel!

Had lots of monkeys as a welcoming party! Saw more here than in Antonio Manuel. Also saw some macaws, and the rainforest setting was really awesome. Loved the pool too. Great to have the laundry to catch up on cleaning clothes for my family of 6, also kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Drove down to play at Catarata Uvita and saw a sloth.

Incredible place, great location

This place was bright, spacious, fun, well equipped with spices, the outdoor grill patio pool etc. it was fantastic. It was private with birds and other wildlife. Johan was very helpful and connected us with two fantastic guides for a mangrove kayak and Manuel Antonio tour. Highly recommend going with a guide in Manuel Antonio despite all the reviews that may say otherwise, you will need your own guide for focusing on the wildlife otherwise you just will not see it.

A wonderful base for exploring the Manuel Antonio NP area.

We absolutely loved our time at Casa Kiskadee! Our first morning we sat on the balcony drinking coffee while viewing wildlife - something we ended up naming “coffee with monkeys.” The beds were great, fans and bedroom air conditioning perfect and the pool a great relief after trekking up the steep hills to the house. Our contact, Johan, was helpful and attentive. Would have given a five star rating but for the steep hike up from town - so those who are not hearty on foot beware. Pura Vida!
