Beautiful home, luxuriously appointed
We were 3 women away for a week of relaxation and Topaz6 was fantastic for our needs. The rooms were large and very comfortable, the bathrooms were calming and beautifully done, and the many balconies were great, especially off the living room/kitchen. The rooftop pool and deck got the most use, although we were a bit disappointed that there was no awning or umbrella up there as the sun is so strong. Our only other issue was the unfriendly beach available at Shore Point; it was very rocky and not conducive to swimming. Perhaps it was larger & less rocky before Hurricane Irma? We hadn’t rented a car, figuring we had pool, beach, restaurants, grocery, etc., — but the beach was not usable for us. The restaurants at Porte Cupecoy were excellent, particularly Altro. Rendez-vous also has great gelato and burgers. All in all, it was a lovely experience, the house is done in great taste, with beautiful art, and that all makes a difference when wanting to relax. The A/C is powerful and WiFi works well indoors. I would not hesitate to recommend Topaz6 to anyone looking for a villa. Tons of bathrooms, too!
Topaz 6 was nicer than we imagined by the online pictures. It is difficult to capture the beauty in pictures. It was nicely decorated, the kitchen was stocked, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The best part was that the view from every floor and the sound of the crashing waves was beautiful and peaceful. The outdoor furniture on every floor was very comfortable. We absolutely loved it. It felt like a palace.
St. Maarten still stunning
St. Maarten is still so beautiful. And, our villa at Shore Pointe was truly exceptional. The villa itself is perfect, from the beautiful views of the ocean from any bedroom or from the rooftop pool. The whole villa was clean, clean, clean. The kitchen was granite, Viking, everything top of the line. Security was great. Four women traveling and we felt safe every minute. We will definitely be back next year and will definitely go to Topaz 6 at Shore Pointe. So nice to have the grocery store less than a block away.
It's with a heavy heart that I write this after the utter devastation that Irma brought to the island. I feel so fortunate that my family and I got to see St. Martin's beauty two weeks ahead of Irma. I know that it will take awhile to rebuild but I can't wait to come back and see what I know will be even better than before.
Dale's villa on Cupecoy beach was more than I ever imagined. It was absolutely stunning - offering picturesque views on the crystal-clear Caribbean waters and was in such an excellent location for what we wanted to do which was relax and hop from beach to beach. The restaurants in Porto Cupecoy were wonderful on the nights where we didn't feel like venturing too far.
A few tips for those thinking about going in low season:
1. There are some businesses that aren't open or have different hours. It's hard to tell ahead of time which these apply to so just be flexible. (FYI Dany's Beach Bar is one of them, although we were able to rent chairs just not able to get drinks.) That said, not having to worry about reservations or full beaches was a total plus.
2. Don't go deep sea fishing in July-September. My aunt booked a trip for us and while on the trip were told that they generally don't catch anything during that time period. (And that your best bet was to do bottom fishing.)
3. Our favorite beach was Karackter. The food and drinks were the best we had on the whole island. We went here a few times during our trip as the sand was beautiful, water was clear, and service was fantastic.
4. We loved our trip to Anguilla. Would have liked to see the west side (where all the celebs stay) but the white sand was unbelievable. I'm glad we didn't stay there as it seemed pretty dead but was definitely fun to visit.
Thank you Dale for such a wonderful place to call home for a week. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you navigate Irma's destruction. <3
Perfect Vacation location & luxury.
We used to live on the island. This is the best location possible. Walk to nearly private beach. Grocery & restaurants across the street. The home is immaculate with high end furnishings. Dale was great communicating from start to finish. We were here for AUC medical school graduation. Well worth it! Dale has a welcome book that tells you nearly every attraction, restaurant, tour, etc. It took us two years to find all these hot spots! No planning required--just follow his book. Thanks Dale
Just returned from SXM and already missing the villa. We've been fortunate to visit a number of wonderful destinations and stay at great properties. Topaz 6 was the best - hands down. It starts with a hassle free arrival. The location is perfect - easy access to French and Dutch attractions but situated on a quite part of the island, a nice grocery and a couple of restaurants across the street. The is a ton of space - we traveled with our three teens and had a ton of space to spread out (and lots of opportunities to come back together). Shocked to find a whole other floor ground level with two additional day beds! All of the furnishings and appliances were top end. Our kids loved the elevator. However, the views make this property special. We loved sitting in the pool or on the top balcony and watching the cruise ships and arriving planes ... or just looking down at the beach and beautiful water. As the week went on, we were all content to just spend the day at this refuge. Lastly, don't underestimated the benefits of having Rayna provide housekeeping services. Hoping to return.
