The Dolphin House is the perfect Wrightsville Beach vacation experience. Dolphins frequently visit and play in your backyard-Wrightsville Sound! Just one block from the beach, this classic cottage is a paradise for family fun and relaxation. Unwind on one of the three porches, hammock, or lawn chairs while reading, observing nature, or simply taking in a spectacular Wrightsville sunset. Once you have experienced the Dolphin House you won't want to stay anywhere else. Every guest wants to return!
Overlooking Wrightsville Sound, this is a special place. The private sandy beach is a great place to play, launch one of our kayaks, swim or just chill. The ocean is only one block away so you have the absolute best of both worlds.
The house has the warmth & feel of a classic, charming Wrightsville Beach cottage but with every amenity. Guests fall in love with the light,the energy, the coziness of Dolphin House.
The master bedroom & bath are on the main floor, 1 bedroom with a double, 1 with twins, a bathroom and a rec/extra room with built in twin futons are on the lower level. In the rec room there is a tv/dvd player, game closet, foosball, extra refrigerator & outside porch.

Beautiful beach house, great location!

We loved our vacation at Dolphin House. The outdoor living is fantastic with beautiful views of the Sound. Well equipped for meals and relaxation. The house is very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Love the outdoor shower and very short walk to the beach. We only missed the Dolphins!

Well appointed cottage

The description of this cottage does not do it justice. The kitchen has all, and more, that you need. Plenty of towels-both bath and beach. Lots of outdoor seating is available, including dining. We have no complaints at all and really enoyed our few days there.

Just a wonderful place

Beautiful location - Sound right there, beach a block and a half away, downtown close. Very nice house with comfortable layout and nice furnishings. Great for adults, small children, and older children. We were in Wrightsville Beach with several other families staying in other houses - and everyone ended up staying at Dolphin house with us most of the time. The owner was easy to work with and very responsive to our questions and requests. Most highly recommended!

Lovely cottage

A home away from home! This cottage has everything you need, from a terrific location to comfortable furnishings to a well-equipped kitchen. Great for a couple or a big family. Watch the water birds and the dolphins from the deck, take the kayaks out for a paddle, walk into town for an ice cream, or wander over to the beach. It's all there. The owner is friendly and very accommodating. We highly recommend this quiet getaway!

Great family house

We stayed at this great little cottage and it was everything the owner described. It accomodated my parents, my brother, his wife, two daughters and my two boys. We enjoyed the little wading area on the back of the house and all the accomodations that were at the house such as the kayaks and beach toys. The beach is an easy walk just across the street. The house has everything you need for a great vacation. All we needed to bring was food and drinks.

Perfect classic cottage to enjoy incredible sunsets & only a short walk to beach

We had a wonderful stay at the Dolphin House! The location is perfectly situated on Little Lollipop Bay and just a 2 minute walk to the beach, The beds are very comfortable and the decor well suited for this Wrightsville Beach Cottage. We enjoyed kayaking daily, walks on the beach, running the Loop, and biking to Motts for Seafood. Never used the indoor showers as the outdoor shower was fantastic! Susan, the owner, is so hospitable and has made sure that the house is well stocked with good linens, spices in the kitchen, and bath needs. We hope to return next year!

Wonderful home in a peaceful setting

Our stay was perfect. The home was lovely, well equipped, spacious enough for our two teenagers and two smaller children to be comfortable. The home has a lot of outdoor space, including a deck to watch the sunset and a small beach to launch a kayak or SUP. The green spaces were also lovely and well-maintained. The sound side was amazingly peaceful and the beach was a surprisingly short and easy walk. The host was a delight and our neighbors were welcoming. Our 8yo even made fast friends with the family visiting next door.

Quality accomodations

Dolphin House is in a great location. Sitting right on the canal but only a 5 minute walk to the beach across the street. We enjoyed it because even though we were not right on the beach we had a beautiful water view of the inlet overlooking the bridge entering Wrightsville Beach. Sitting on the top deck at night the view is spectacular. The house is in perfect condition! And I mean perfect. Everything from the towels to the kitchen is top shelf. And of course a short walk to downtown or to do the "loop walk" or run if you prefer. Kayaks included if you want to venture out into the bay. We did and it was a ton of fun. The owner lives in town and if you need anything she is only a phone call away and happy to help.

Beautiful cottage on the bay!

Dolphin House was the perfect place for our family vacation. The cottage is lovely, comfortable, and well-stocked. The view of the bay is gorgeous, and our 4 year old loved playing on her "private beach". Our only regret is that Hurricane Florence forced us to leave early, so we weren't able to enjoy the house for the full week. We will definitely return to Dolphin House for future vacations!

When we arrived the house was clean the beds were made an the sun was shining. This home sits right on the bay and is just a block to the ocean, the best of both. I was staying with two of my college aged kids and five of there friends. The only complaint they had was that we were only staying a week. They did go ATV muddling and jet skiing, but said they could have spent the whole week in the backyard. The kayaks at the house and the inflatables we brought gave them plenty to do. Late night games on the back deck laughing and having fun made it a great time. The gas grill and well equipped kitchen made meals easy. The owner of this house has made staying a pleasure. We look forward to many more memories at the Dolphin House.

Great beach cottage on sound

Stayed here for a long fall weekend getaway and fishing trip with family. Great location, walking distance to pier, beach, and downtown shops. Water access at sound for kayaks and boats (house is equipped with kayaks, paddles and life vests). Beautiful sound view. House very clean and well equipped. We will stay here again and highly recommend.

Perfect Week at the Beach

Fabulous week in Wrightsville

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation stay in the "dolphin house". Two families (4 adults, 4 teens) shared the home. Location is perfect --- very short walk to the beach and the "backyard" is the sound where we frequently used the 3 kayaks that come with the house (and two paddle boards that we rented for the week). There was also a short walk to the fishing pier, small grocery store, ice cream, restaurants --- perfect! Both our families enjoy cooking. Although the kitchen is small, it is very well equipped. We also appreciated the abundant supply of towels and the quality bath soaps --- and small touches like extra tooth brushes in case we had forgotten ours. Although we didn't see any dolphins, we did enjoy the spectacular sunsets while dining on the back deck. The outdoor living spaces include dining tables, porch swing, hammock, comfy chairs. Although it was August, the ceiling fans, retractable awning and breezes, made it easy to enjoy the outdoor living space. The owner was also very helpful and prompt in responding to our planning questions. Highly recommend this vacation home.

Wonderful cozy house with great views, perfect for families and we did see dolphins!

We just stayed at this perfect bayfront home last month and had a great time. The house had gorgeous views of the bay with wonderful outdoor decks and eating area and comfortable living space inside. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks to explore the inland water but were one block from the beach and a few blocks from town. We really enjoyed all of the amenities of the house. The kitchen was well equipped and we also utilized the grill to eat outside and there was even a picnic table in the grass that would have been nice if we had bought crabs or something messy to eat outside. The owner was really accommodating and I hope we can come back to stay next spring. Great place, perfect fit for our two families with kids aged 12-16.

Fantastic Classic Home

We had the most wonderful visit to the beach and the Dolphin House was a highlight! It was a beautiful family vacation home and you can tell it has the sweetest family character. The decor is perfect for the beautiful beach and sound setting. We loved the tidal beach with our 3 year old, and the sand toys that were available were such a great help. We loved the kayaks and the well equipped kitchen. Susan is very nice and helpful with ideas/info about the area. Thank you for sharing your home with us :)

Why they chose this property

My husband grew up on Wrightsville Sound & knew this was the perfect location for his family. When the property became available he lovingly restored it & we have enjoyed every minute spent here since!We are from Wrightsville Beach &knew this was the perfect location.
No matter how busy or hectic a summer day is at Wrightsville Beach, when you walk out to the porch overlooking the sound, it is quiet peaceful & absolutely stunning. Watching the tide rise & fall & expose all of its beauty is an extraordinary experience.
Rise early & walk the beach, go for a bike ride, a kayak excursion or walk the loop - its all right here. Peaceful & serene but plenty of activity.
