Welcome to Avery Cottage, a charming 3 bedroom, 2 bath, raised rancher just steps to the ocean and walking distance to downtown Bethany Beach! This beautiful bright and sunny beach house is perfect for families or couples. The main living area features an open concept kitchen (with washer/dryer), dining room, living room, and entry foyer with a hallway leading to 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Bedroom #1 offers a Queen bed, television and a full bathroom. Bedroom #2 offers a Double bed, Twin day bed with additional Twin pull out bed. Bedroom #3 offers 2 Twin beds. A second full bathroom is centrally located off the hallway. The large, wrap around furnished deck is ideal for dining al fresco, sunbathing and enjoying spectacular sunsets! A covered lower deck offers even more space for outdoor entertainment, complete with swings, charcoal grill, picnic table, and beach chairs. The rear of the home features a covered outdoor shower and spacious yard with horseshoes game. Sleeps 8 with ample parking for up to 5 cars. Weeklong rentals during the summer season; shorter term spring and fall rentals based on availability and upon request. No smoking; no pets.

Quaint and cozy

We loved the location has safe, easy access to the beach. The recent sand replenishment was great. The house has an open access main living area. Appliances worked fine but we had a slight issue with blinking ceiling fixture in kitchen and adjacent wall reading lamp. The full mattress in second bedroom is very uncomfortable and the water has a noticeable sulfur smell. Even so, my family and I agree we would consider returning again.

Great spot!

Great location to the beach. We were sent off the beach because of thunder and we came back and got it underneath the deck to wait it out. The swings are great and having beach chairs was also really nice. Great place!

Avery Cottage

Wonderful location, well appointed cottage, AC crashed for a day however the host was very responsive and arranged a quick repair,. The decor could use an update and the mattresses and pillows were not comfortable; suggest bringing your own pillows. The washer/dryer were well used but got the job done. Outdoor shower, hose for the feet, and beach chairs which were in good condition were appreciated. Spent a lot of time on the large front deck. We plan to stay at Avery Cottage again.

Great house with older AC unit

We've been staying here for a few years running, and have always loved it. This year, the AC unit seems to struggle to keep the house below 79 or 80° during the day, but other than that we've had a great time as always.

This sweet summer cottage has been lovingly maintained by my family since my Grandmother and Grandfather Avery built it in the early 1970's. It holds cherished memories for 4 generations of Averys, and for generations of other families who have returned to 3 South 1st Street summer after summer. It's a privilege to share Avery Cottage with those who love spending time at this beloved South Bethany beach house as much as we do!
