About this property

Lovely Stone House with Own Pool in Quiet Village

This is a luxury self-contained stone house in traditional Istrian style. The house, completed in 2006, has its own walled garden with private swimming pool (8 x 4 metres). It is tastefully equipped with modern kitchen and traditional Istrian style solid wood furniture. The house has a spacious & shady south facing ground floor terrace with barbecue as well as a sunny poolside patio for alfresco eating. There is also a beautiful traditional Istrian open hearth in the living room. Modern central heating also on hand for winter rentals. The shady car port has space for 2 cars but parking on the street is also no problem.


About the owners: We love to use the house as our weekend refuge, also in the wonderful Istrian spring and autumn months. As we also like to cook, the kitchen is spacious and well equipped. We are non-smokers and do not have any pets. Therefore we prefer if you also leave your pets at home and only smoke outside.
Bikes are provided to discover the many paths in the nearby woods and leading to the sea.

Things to do near Vabriga: If you do not already know Istria, you have the opportunity to explore the whole of this beautiful region from your base in Vabriga. Beside the larger seaside town of Pula with its roman amphitheater and the picturesque venetian town of Rovijn, You can also explore the quite hillside villages and the vineyards of the interior or the wild eastern coast of the peninsula. The new main roads that cross the region make the furthest corners of Istria easy to reach on a day-trip from Vabriga.

Lanterna, the largest resort on the coast of Croatia is only 2 km away. Here you can enjoy organized water-sports as well as tennis or simply swim in the crystal clear water on this side of the Adriatic.

A spacious and good quality villa

We spent one week of our two week summer holiday in this villa and had a lovely time. It is just as described and the pictures are accurate. It is in a very handy location on the edge of a small village, close to the coast and various pretty coastal towns. It is well appointed inside with a very attractive patio, garden and pool outside. The only real issue we had was that being August it was very hot and although it has thick walls and shutters which made it possible to keep the downstairs coolish, the bedrooms were very warm at night and without aircon or ceiling fans we sweated our restlessly way through the nights. I would certainly recommend the villa with that one caveat.

A wonderful holiday at Maslinova Grana

We spent a fantastic week in the delightful Maslinova Grana (Olive Branch) villa in the charming village of Vabriga. There were seven of us staying, and the ample accommodation - including en suite bathrooms for two of the three bedrooms - was more than adequate. The house was well equipped, with everything from quality kitchen appliances to DVD and Wi-Fi connection. The house was tastefully furnished; the outdoor seating, lounging and covered terrace - with dining table to seat 8 and built-in barbecue - meant we are able to take full advantage of the near-perfect weather through the week. The area around Vabriga was very picturesque, with easy access to the charming coastal towns of Novigrad and Porec (where we took a day trip over to Venice!). Added to all of this was the villa owner's care and attention to detail, which included sorting out our tourist registration and giving very useful advice on the best roads to take, and places to visit. I couldn't give this villa a higher recommendation.

Lovely villa with quality fittings

Villa was as described - clean and very comfortable with good air con in the bedrooms which was a definite bonus. Great pool for the kids and BBQ was handy too. Tamara was very responsive when we had queries and resolving an issue. Location was slightly more residential than we had anticipated however was well placed for restaurants, supermarket etc.

Schönes Ferienhaus zum Wohlfühlen

Das Haus ist, wie auf den Fotos zu sehen ist, sehr schön eingerichtet und in einem sauberen Zustand und ein Pool im Garten sorgt für Erfrischung zwischendurch. Wer gerne läuft kann durch ein kleines Wäldchen zu einem kleinen Hafen mit netten Kneipen laufen oder an Olivenhainen vorbei im Landesinneren. Die umliegenden Orte sind gut zu erreichen. Auch der Ausflug zu den Briunji-Inseln hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Istrien ist einfach S C H Ö N ! Auch der Besitzer des Objektes ist jederzeit erreichbar und sehr nett.

Schöne Ferien

Wir haben mit unseren beiden Kindern und Oma und Opa zwei herrliche Ferienwochen in diesem schönen Haus verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet und auch der Außenbereich ist sehr gepflegt. Die Kinder waren vom Pool kaum wegzubewegen und so haben wir bei bestem Wetter neben einigen schönen Ausflügen oft auch einfach im Haus entspannt. Uns hat der Strand in Lanterna besser gefallen als der fußläufig erreichbare in Santa Marina. Dafür kann man dort am Hafen hervorragend essen und wird sehr freundlich bedient. Das Einzige, was wir etwas schade fanden war, dass wir das Auto so häufig gebraucht haben, zumal der örtliche Supermarkt ( sehr gut sortiert) zu Fuß eben zu weit entfernt lag. Insgesamt hatten wir einen wunderschönen Urlaub und können das Haus nur empfehlen.

Mediterranes Feeling!

Wir waren schon mehrmals in der Villa Maslinova Grana in Vabriga und sind immer wieder begeistert. Haus, Pool und Garten sind tip-top gepflegt und vermitteln ein wunderbar mediterranes Feeling. Auch die Infrastruktur in und um Vabriga passt absolut. Dinge des täglichen Lebens bekommt man sowohl im Ort (seit kurzem gibt es sogar einen größeren Supermarkt) als auch im nahe gelegenen Novigrad (Tipp: Frischer Fisch vom Markt zum Grillen auf der Terrasse :-)). Und wer ein gutes Restaurant sucht, einfach Herrn O'Neill fragen! Und wenn man guten kroatischen Wein kaufen möchten (den gibt es!!!), auch hier kann Herr O'Neill weiterhelfen. Wir freuen uns auf jeden Fall schon wieder auf unseren nächsten Besuch. GH

Lovely, well equipped holiday house

Exceedingly well equipped, very clean and well maintained, the house had everything that we could need for our holiday. We stayed with our 3 teenage+ children for two weeks. The help and all the detailed information provided prior to our arrival by Conor (the owner) was excellent and really made our stay hassle free. We were met by Tamra who showed us around the house and rang us during the holiday to check everything was ok - excellent customer service. We had some unseasonable rain but we spent the days exploring the countryside and surrounding towns. Went to an amusing show at the amphitheatre in Pula, visited lots of stunning hilltop towns and villages, sampled the delicious local wine and olives - what more could we ask for. There are some reasonable local restaurants and we spent a hilarious evening at the Santa Maria restaurant where the 'music' kept us entertained. We enjoyed exploring the different local beaches and just lounging by the pool. I would thoroughly recommend this house for its location, the facilities, the high standard accommodation and the excellent help and information provided by the owner and his representative in Croatia.

Empfehlenswert!

Wir waren zu siebt (vier Erwachsene, drei Kinder zwischen 10 und 14 Jahren) in diesem wunderschönen und gepflegten Haus. Es ist perfekt für einen Entspannungsurlaub, da das großzügige Haus mit Pool und zwei Terrassen auch mehreren Personen Beschäftigung bzw. Rückzugsmöglichkeiten bietet. Das Meer ist mit dem Fahrrad bzw. dem Auto schnell erreichbar (zu Fuß ist es ein wenig weit und es geht beim Heimweg doch ziemlich bergauf). Wahrscheinlich ist es auch perfekt gelegen für eine Erkundung Istriens, dafür war es uns aber zu heiß :-) Sehr hilfreich waren die vielen Tipps des Vermieters, vor allem die Restaurantempfehlungen - wir haben hervorragend gegessen! Der Vermieter ist überhaupt sehr bemüht um das Wohlergehen seiner Gäste und hat uns super betreut! Alles in allem ein gelungener Urlaub.

Beautiful house in a great location

Five of us (all adults) had a brilliant holiday here. The house was very well equipped with plenty of good quality kitchen stock, towels & bedlinen. It was exactly as described and in a good location, with the garden & pool overlooking open fields. It stays cool inside, even on very hot days. The village has a general store and a couple of little restaurants plus a pizza takeaway (which we used on our final night). We did do some sight-seeing and shopping in Porec and Rovinj, also went to the Cattunar vineyard (recommend the Teran Barrique red & Malvasia white) - but because of the glorious hot & sunny weather (all week) we spent a lot of time around the pool. Its always clean & sparkling because of automatic filtration system and there are plenty of loungers & easy chairs plus two huge umbrellas (important in middle of day). Also used the BBQ and the washing machine & 2 big drying racks were much appreciated. The owner (Conor) has given us first-class customer service - even arranging car hire for us. This is a lovely house which I recommend 100% and hope to go back to, sometime in the future...

Tolles Haus!

Wir verbrachten eine Woche im Oktober mit 3 Kindern in Valbriga in diesem großzügigen, wunderschönen und geschmackvoll eingerichteten Haus. Pool, Garten, Hängematte, Fahrräder - es war manchmal schwierig, die Kinder zu Ausflügen zu motivieren. Das Haus liegt in ruhiger Lage am Ortsrand und eignet sich gut als Ausgangspunkt zur Erkundung von Istrien. Die Urlaubstipps, insbesondere Restaurantempfehlungen des Vermieters sollten unbedingt ausprobiert werden. Kurz: Wir haben sehr wohl gefühlt und können dieses Domizil sehr empfehlen!

Genussvolle Ruhe - nahe am Meer

Wir waren vom 9. - 24. Juli 2010 vor Ort und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Unsere Familie mit 3 Kids - 3,7,11 Jahre - konnten nach freien Herzen den Pool und auch die Stände in unmittelbarer Nähe (sehr flach und ohne See-Igel) geniessen. Die Küchen- und Hausausstattung ist perfekt, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten vor Ort auch ok.. Einzigartig ist die Grill-Stelle: sehr gut angelegt mit dem Esstisch unter der Laube - hier haben wir feine Abendstunden verbracht. Der einzige nicht erfüllte Wunsch: ... der Blick vom Haus auf´s Meer, dafür sind wir um so öfter runter zum Meer: hier sind Fahrräder ideal. Es gibt zahlreiche Schotterstrassen zum Biken in der Umgebung. Sehr empfehlenswert ;-)).
