About this property
Lazy Loft Lodge - Quiet Retreat with Fire Pit
Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay in the mountains. Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature. Nestled in the heart of the Sierra Nevada, this cabin offers a retreat surrounded by big trees. It's the perfect place to gather with loved ones and create lasting memories. Enjoy meals on the deck in the mountain air or drinks by the outdoor fireplace. Enjoy the pool, lakes, and winter fun all outside Big Trees State Park.
The space
The cabin has 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, an equipped kitchen, and plenty of loft and living space. We also have children's toys and books to keep your little ones entertained.
Guest access
The entire cabin and surrounding outdoor area is all yours! We have some personal items in the basement which is where we store fun toys like floaties, beach chairs, and sleds for the snow! Curious if you can use something? Just ask!
Other things to note
LINENS AND BEDDING:
We care a lot about getting a good night's sleep on vacation. Because of that, each bed is fitted with Parachute sheets, down comforters, and percale duvet covers (washed after every guest). If you need extra blankets, we've got plenty of them.
WINTER WEATHER AND ACCESSIBILITY:
Camp Connell gets a LOT of snow in the winter. We have a snow plow contract for the driveway, but in instances of extreme snowfall, you may be required to shovel the front stairs in order to access the front door (shovels are inside the shed next to the front door). Please do not book the cabin during the winter if you are not in the physical condition to be lifting and shoveling heavy snow. We strongly recommend only traveling the Hwy 4 corridor in the winter if you have 4WD and/or snow chains. The power also goes out in the winter, and in some cases does not come back on for days. In these cases we can discuss refund options, less the night(s) you have stayed, or you can see it as an adventure like we do! There are many flashlights in the cabin and we have a wood-burning fireplace, so it will be warm and cozy while you’re waiting for the power to come back on!
HEATING AND COOLING:
The Lazy Loft Lodge doesn't have central heat or air conditioning. This hasn't stopped us from enjoying time at the cabin. Tall trees, cross breezes, and fans keep us cool in the summer, and wood burning stoves, blankets, and plug in radiators keep us warm in the winter.
INFANTS AND TODDLERS:
We welcome little guests and our own children have spent plenty of time in the cabin. We have a high chair, baby gate, and kid-friendly plates, cups, and silverware in addition to toys and games for all ages. In the summer we hang an obstacle course between trees behind the house and in the winter the side yard makes for some great sledding. For their safety, we ask that you not leave children unattended in the loft or near the indoor or outdoor wood stoves when they're in use.
