Waterfront Relaxation

We had an absolute blast over Memorial Day weekend! The house was the perfect getaway — peaceful, relaxing, and full of little adventures. The pier was a highlight for us. We caught 3 stingrays, 2 eels, fish, crab, and even oysters — such a fun variety that kept us on our toes!It was also such a treat to bring our dogs along and include our fur family in the fun. We enjoyed dinner every night in the screened-in patio and sipped coffee each morning on the upstairs deck — just the kind of relaxing time we needed.Conveniently located too — Walmart was only about 20 minutes away for anything we needed. We’ll definitely be back again!Great host- endured we were taken care of!

Everything we could have wanted in our vacation!

We enjoyed our stay in this out of the way, very quiet home! The home has everything a family may need such as an oven, large fridge and of course central AC! It is off the beaten path, and just what we needed! It is close to beaches and other area attractions! Looking forward to our next trip!

Family Vacation 2024

We enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of activities, crabbing was fun, fishing was great as well. Like any other place in America bring sunscreen and bug spray. It wasnt bad just enough to warrant protection. Great outdoor activities and will not have time to do everything. We will be returning next year to continue our adventures.

This place was exactly what we were look for in a quiet peaceful getaway on the water.

We were able to dock our boat directly behind the house and explore the surrounding area for miles. The crabbing behind the house was was great, in no time my daughter and I had filled a five gallon bucket! The house is great too with all you need in the kitchen to cook a seafood feast, also there were two grills gas and charcoal. The beds were comfortable and the outdoor shower was sweet! The back screened in porch is where we ate all our meals and enjoyed mornings and evenings relaxing by the water, great spot loved it! There was lots of wildlife around deer, turkey, rabbits, birds and we even saw Bigfoot! Can’t wait to get back my family had a blast! Thanks Randy

Quiet, secluded

My husband and I wanted a quiet get-away for a few days to unplug and relax. This property is the perfect place for that! It is a beautiful.setting - we took advantage of the canoes and even went crabbing. It rained one day so we decided to drive into town (15min) to visit a lovely antique mall. Perhaps we were inspired by all of the wonderful antiques which decorate this house! Randy (the owner) is very accommodating and responsive to the questions we had. The T.V. reception is questionable at times, but there are many movies available on DVD. We enjoyed the huge screened in back porch and sitting on the dock watching the osprey (never did see the eagle but we saw his nest). Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Peace and Quiet on the Eastern Shore

We spent 4 days at Randy's Get-Away in the woods on the water, and it was just what the Dr. ordered. Peace and quiet but a great time. My Brother and I really needed some R and R and we received it in large doses here. We were out on the water every day catching crabs, fishing and enjoying all that this property has to offer. My brother commented that he felt like he had been there before and felt right at home - the comfort level was high! Enjoyed sitting on the screen porch, listening to the breezes, the birds, the water. We ventured out to a few of the local places - not to be missed is the Great Machipongo Clam Shack - what a great place to eat! Unpretentious and great food. Also headed over to the Island House in Wachapreague - also very good. Would recommend this to anyone I know who needs a few days off the grid. We really enjoyed ourselves - Thanks Randy!

Secluded Peace and Quiet!

If you are looking for a place to get away from it all and still have fun, look no further! Fishing, boating, swimming and relaxing! Seven of us, four people and three dogs enjoyed our stay in late August. The weather was perfect, the fish were biting, and there were plenty of crabs for catching. We couldn’t have hoped for more; the water was steps from the cabin making fishing, canoeing and kayaking easy. The dogs, one a swimmer and two who were thrown in and learned to be swimmers, also had fun. We stocked up on food after arriving, since the closest store is the longest few miles you will ever drive. No, there is no cell reception, but really, if you wanted to be able to talk to people, why would you be looking for a secluded spot? The only down side is the bedroom layout, but I believe Randy is working on creating two separate rooms. Otherwise, we cannot wait to book another stay soon!

Amazing Peace & Solitude

I rented Randy's place over the President's Day weekend for a little quiet time to grieve after my father passed away unexpectedly. The place is absolutely fantastic. I did not see another human being the entire weekend. The property sits near the end of a peninsula with gorgeous views of the woods and water all around. I rambled over the woods and fields with my dog, returning to the house to warm up and enjoy some quiet reading time. The house is comfortably furnished and boasts an amazing claw foot tub for soaking in the downstairs bathroom. The owner Randy is great, very responsive and welcoming. He graciously allowed me to extend my trip an additional day when the weather made traveling home unfeasible on my scheduled departure date. I can’t wait to book my next trip to Randy’s little slice of paradise. I would recommend this property to anyone who enjoys the quiet beauty of the outdoors, and is looking for some distraction free time to take a deep breath and enjoy life.

Great property to get away from it all and connect with nature

My husband and I needed a break from the hustle and bustle of life, and this was the perfect spot for just that. We took our jon boat and had a nice outing on the water, which was quiet and peaceful. Just be sure to come in at high tide until the ramp is completed, as the soft bottom is not forgiving... it tried to swallow me. LOL There is lots of nature to enjoy! We saw deer, wild turkeys (which gobble gobbled for us) and many different types of waterfowl. At low tide we were able to harvest some oysters and mussels, which were delicious! There is a great selection of movies to choose from, which came in handy on a rainy day/night. Don't expect to be on the grid while there, as the cell reception is sparse, but that is exactly what we wanted. Randy was very friendly, and communicated with us several times, to ensure our stay was perfect. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Seclusion was great, property was not welcoming

This property's seclusion is excellent. There is a lot of wildlife on land and water. However, as the owner will state, this property is not right for everyone. Read the reviews. The reviews do not cover what I am listing below. I debated not even rating it. Things not described in the listing: 1) External cameras everywhere. They are very overt and make you feel uncomfortable. I do see a need for some sort of camera system. This was an overkill. 2) Yes, there is Wi-Fi, but good luck with it. It is hit or miss. Due to signal strength, I believe it is located elsewhere on the property. This was very spotty. Yes, we wanted seclusion but ensure you download all your books and content before you show up. 2) Ants on the countertops and built-in dining table. The ants were present on arrival, and filled traps were found in both locations. 3) Ensure you read the rule book and rules on the refrigerator. This is where you will learn that trash needs to be taken with you, how to properly use the shower, and other tips for the property. 4) Be prepared for the unique features of this property. It's a converted garage or boathouse, which we could tell from the start. However, it's a handyman's special with exposed wires, a light fixture hanging open in the kitchen, and missing or dislodged baseboard moldings. Also, please be careful on the upper deck as some boards are rotted through, and there is a possibility of falling through. Recommend updating photos.

Deceiving

The pictures for this property are very old. Very disappointed. So many "things" in this house we thought we were in an antique shop. We had to clean before could put our food away. Having to take our trash to the local dump was not a pleasure! The list is too long list, but mice and roaches are not my kind of vacation. I was able to speak to the owner about the issues, but nothing could be done at that time. Things just kept adding up and we decided to leave early. We really tried to enjoy it, but could not do it any longer. The dock is nice.

Beautiful location, but property is misrepresented and poorly maintained.

While the location is secluded and offers a great water view with a peaceful dock, the property itself is in poor condition and not ready for guests. Cleanliness was unacceptable—strong odor on arrival, dirty floors, and a refrigerator with old food. We had to clean before we could use. Coffee brewer grimy. The home had fleas and bugs that made the stay uncomfortable, and we checked out a day early.Only one of the three listed "bedrooms" is enclosed. The others are open areas with no linens, blankets, or pillows provided for the pull-out beds. The towels depend on previous guests to wash and fold them. Bathrooms lacked soap or shampoo and had serious hygiene issues, including feces under a floor mat and yellow stains in the bathtub.Security was a concern—the front door couldn’t be locked from inside. You had to go outside to lock it and re-enter through the back door - safety and security issue. Stairs to the second floor had no handrail.Outdoor furniture was wet from a leaking porch roof. The grill, smoker, and utensils were dirty and rusty. The crab pots and other listed amenities were hard to find. Guests must also take their trash with them upon leaving, and the nearest dump is several miles away. The property charges a cleaning fee, but it clearly hadn’t been cleaned before our arrival. This home needs a professional cleaning team and a revised listing that accurately represents what is offered. Until these issues are resolved, I cannot recommend this property.

Rockin Rando is a former Navy Vet as well as a former State Trooper and he like's not hearing any noise except mother nature, the popping of a "cold daddy" and the noise of water breaking while netting the infamous Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab. This is life folks when you can step outside your back door and fill your belly with what mother nature provides, from Rockfish, Flounder, Croakers all the way to oysters. Plenty of bait at your own private dock with "Bull Minnows" and "Fiddler Crabs". Whether you like fishing or just hanging out in a place where your away from mankind this is it.

What makes this property unique

Where do I start? You have your own New Fishing Pier and launch area for motor boat, you have free access to canoes and kayaks, outdoor shower second to none, outside porch also second to none, all the crabs you can eat, a home like you would like to call your own and so much more. The Spring of 2021 brought you "Shark Beach" and 2022 brings you a New outdoor Cooking Station complete with Charcoal Grill, Gas Grill, Blackstone Griddle, Crab Cooker and Crab Pot. If you can't relax, recharge and reflect here you might consider seeking a Doctor.
