Celebrate the 4th of July in the mountains! Close to bike trails and Snowshoe!

Ready for your family or group! Dogs (2) allowed with $50.00 non-refundable fee.

Four-bedroom house!

One bedroom downstairs. Three bedrooms upstairs!

Full-size bathroom downstairs with shower/tub, toilet and sink. Smaller bathroom upstairs, equipped with a sink, toilet and claw tub. Hair dryer provided in each bathroom.

Fully equipped kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. Plenty of other small appliances provided including a coffee maker, a toaster, a crockpot, a gridle, and more.
Dog friendly.
Large, fenced backyard and cozy front porch for gatherings. The front porch is equipped with a swing, chairs and gas firepit. The backyard has a small wood fire-pit. A charcoal grill is also available, and a few lawn chairs are provided in the storage box. Check the Guest Book in the kitchen for more information.

Marlinton is close to the Snowshoe resort which offers winter sports, summer sports and events as well.

The house is within walking distance to the Greenbrier River and the Greenbrier bike trails.
A couple of shops have bikes and canoes available for rent. Or you can also float on a tube!

Grocery stores, hospital, laundry facility, restaurants, coffee shops and local souvenir shops in town all within walking distance!

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Trash bags need to be taken out to the trash bin located on the side on 12th street! Everything must be in bags, or it will not be picked up. Trash collection is on Tuesdays around 9:30 am.
Please wipe the oven and cleanup the grill after use!
Used towels must be stored in the washer for our cleaning person to wash. Linens stripped from bed stay on top of beds or on the floor. Thank you.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Do not let your dog(s) sleep in the beds. Protect couches or top of bedding if they sleep on them. Do not wash pets in tubs.
The upstairs bedrooms are equipped with heathers/coolers. Do not leave these running while you are not in the bedrooms.

We embarked on a last minute ski trip, and the location was fantastic within a small town with grocery stores and restaurants. The house was equipped with everything we needed to feel like we were at home, and my favorite amenity was the fenced-in backyard for our pets. This is a great house. The kitchen has everything you need as if it was your own home. The town is beautiful and if you are lucky enough to have snow it feels like you are in a Hallmark movie. The host is very responsive and accommodating.

Jenna was a great host! We stayed here for the weekend to ski at Snowshoe, and she checked in with us before our trip to make sure we had everything we needed and see if we needed any information about the mountain. She was also very flexible with check in and check out, which was especially appreciated with the winter weather that came in during our stay.The home was charming and cozy. The property was homey, clean, and well-provisioned including a variety of kitchen needs, appliances, and bathroom toiletries. The King-sized bed in the 1st floor bedroom was very comfortable. My teens had space to spread out amongst the upstairs 3 bedrooms. Upstairs bathtub was a nice touch for me, including some Dr. Teal's epsom salt bath product. Everything was neat, organized and easy to find. The backyard was large and fenced in for our dog. Views of the mountains were incredible and visits to the tourism office, art gallery, and other local businesses showed the charm of Marlinton, including offering helpful tips on when to see 7/4 fireworks from scenic highway and other things to do. The challenge for us was that I mistakenly thought the area would be cooler than the overwhelming humid-heat of summer in Maryland, and my kids didn't quite feel their best. We turned on all window & ceiling fans to help mitigate the heat. Jenna, the owner, kindly explained that there were more fans available, and that homes in the area typically do not have central AC as they are at least a hundred years old. We ultimately chose to wrap up our trip early. Jenna was compassionate, accommodating, and understanding. She encouraged us to come back for a visit in the fall. I certainly encourage others to check out her beautiful property in this charming town surrounded by verdant mountains, rivers, and rich history.

Property was exactly as described. Very clean. Host was easy to communicate with and very responsive. The location was great for outdoor activities. We hiked and mountain biked. A rail trail goes right through town. Not a big town, few options for restaurants, but we were just there to bike and hike so were happy with our choice. It was great to be able to bring our dogs and the fenced in yard was secure and large.

Happy 2025

My first time using Vrbo and it was wonderful. The house was prefect to stay in while skiing at Snowshoe. We got snowed in and could not leave on our scheduled date and the host was super cool about it. They were more concerned about our safety. I can't wait to go back, summer or winter.

Wonderful Stay

This home is cozy, clean, well stocked, and next to the Greenbriar Trail. The living areas are roomy and the kitchen is big. The front porch with fire pit was wonderful after a long day of biking. Our little dog was allowed to be with us and they have a large backyard. You can bike to local restaurants. We will be back! Wonderful host!

Such a sweet small town and this rental is a great location because it’s just a few blocks from restaurants, the river, and the rail trail but far enough that there isn’t much traffic! The home is fully stocked with everything you need (they seriously thought of everything!) The host was super easy to chat with about local suggestions and questions about our planning before arriving! The house doesn’t have AC but fans are provided for each room which was helpful! We even brought a couple more which helped on the couple hotter days! The fully fenced in backyard was so nice for the kids! Excellent host and great property! Marlinton is a gem!

Cozy, comfy spot!

A team of 6 of us came to stay for a work event and absolutely loved this location! We were cooking all of our meals and the kitchen and fridge were so clean - they have tons of kitchen tools and appliances available. The living room spaces are cozy, the rooms have great beds, and the check in and out process was so easy. We would be thrilled to come back next year. We visited Beartown State Park and Droop Mountain, checked out some local shops, and talked to some kind neighbors. Bonus: there are tons of sweet and charming neighborhood cats to entertain you, and the patio is a great spot to pet them! Note that steps are required to enter the property in case that limits anyone.

Why they chose this property

Being within walking distance of shops, entertainment, the bike trails and the river was essential to us! But if you like winter sports or mountain biking, Snowshoe is not far! During the winter, many people love to stay in town to take advantage of lower rental prices!

What makes this property unique

Our property appeals to families or groups! The ability to house 9-10 people and cook instead of eating out all the time is a plus! Especially with children. The large backyard will make kids and/or their furry friends happy during the day and the firepits in the backyard and on the front porch will appeal to the adults in the evenings.
