Property was gorgeous. Home even better. It was quiet and we spent most of our time enjoying the fact that no one could reach us. Everything was well stocked, we made every meal right there in the cabin. It was the perfect quiet place and so perfectly placed out of reach from the world. We were comfortable, like it was our own home. I even took a nap on the backporch on the swing, it was perfect.
Our family had an amazing time while staying at this beautiful log cabin. We had everything we needed for a perfect stay including some snow. The cabin was well equipped and clean. Thank you for the excellent service and hospitality.
My husband and I and four grown children stayed at the cabin for a weekend of skiing at Snowshoe. The cabin was very clean, it was well equipped, and the beds were comfortable. I liked that there was enough comfortable furniture for us all to be together at the end of the day and there was plenty of hot water for all six of us. It had recently snowed so we didn’t spend time outdoors, but the driveway area was sufficiently plowed, and the property was easy to get to.Check in and check out were a breeze and we had no issues. Highly recommended!
The cabin was as listed and very clean. It had everything you needed and many extras. There were sleds and that we were able to use as it snowed when we were there. The guest book is helpful. I recommend you read it before going out to eat. I would recommend thIs cabin to friends and family.
Great location for a getaway. The cabin was clean and well-stocked. Very convenient for hiking and outdoor adventures. Host was responsive and friendly.
My family and I stayed at this cabin for a long weekend in December. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and hope we will be able to visit again.
The cabin was very clean and perfectly located near public lands, National Forest, and State Parks. If you want to get away and enjoy some of the most beautiful countryside West Virginia has to offer then put this cabin on the list……
We enjoyed this sweet cabin so much! We made Christmas cookies, cooked to our hearts content. Made a birthday cake. The kids sledding in the backyard and the dogs loved it!
This property was probably my favorite VRBO. Neat as a pin, clean, perfect property for my pet, equipped kitchen, quick responses from host. I loved that it was decorated for the holidays. Price reasonable for everything you get. Would definitely stay again!
This is a wonderful location for enjoying all the area has to offer... easy to get to Bear Town and Watoga State Parks, Droop Mountain, Cranberry Glades, Greenbrier River Trail, etc. And the cabin is clean, very cozy and very comfortable. We didn't use the upstairs spaces, but the double bedroom downstairs was quite nice. The kitchen is well-equipped. We didn't use the stove... did note that the glass cooktop is in kind of rough shape, but, overall, the kitchen was in good order. While it's quite a distance from any town or village, the cabin isn't really out in the woods... depending on your point of view, that may be good or bad... the main road is about 200-300 feet away, I would guess, and you will hear traffic going by. The road is not particularly heavily traveled, though, and at night, we didn't notice any noise from the road. The only downer during our stay was that the gas fireplace, which we had really looked forward to using during the evenings, wasn't working during our short visit. It appears that the gas was actually shut off. The owner suggested how I might get it started, but I wasn't inclined to fool around too much with the propane. Relighting my gas fireplace at home isn't a particularly simple proposition, and being unfamiliar and having no instructions...
Other than that, though, this was top-notch... and we would definitely consider coming back if we visit the area again.
Great location and stay! Our children enjoyed their first real log cabin. We'd definitely stay again if we have the opportunity to be in the area again.
We meet friends from Lancaster PA,, we are from Charlotte NC. It was about halfway for both of us. Perfect setting to relax, sit and catch up after 5 years. Loved sitting by the fire in the evening. The cabin was very comfortable and had everything you might need. Love the cabin decor. We highly recommend this property.
This cabin is clean, comfortable, and cozy. Everything needed was available, the property is well-kept, and the location was quiet. We were in the area to hike in state parks and bike the Greenbrier River Trail. The cabin’s location made our target areas very accessible. Owner was prompt in communicating with us. Highly recommended!
Our family of 4 plus dogs had a pleasant stay at the Little Mountain Retreat cabin. The kitchen was well stocked, and the house was decorated nicely to fit the forest/bear theme. The back porch and yard are both private and great for kids to play in or adults to sit and relax. We found plenty to do in the area, all within a 15-50 minute drive from the cabin in Hillsboro. One thing to note if you are bringing pets is that the neighbor’s dogs do wander over to the yard frequently, so just something to be aware of if your dog (like one of ours) doesn’t always enjoy visitors. Overall we had a good experience here and would recommend it to others looking to stay in the Pocahontas County area.
