Great location for our family reunion visit. The house was cute and had more than we needed. We were very comfortable and the host was very nice with great communication.
Fantastic host and a wonderfully comfortable stay!! If you travel with pups or enjoy hiking/ walking/ biking - THERE IS NO BETTER PLACE TO STAY than at this property!! The location is amazing - quiet and private, but you're still close to everything, including multiple walking trails right off of the dead end road. I cannot overstate the convenience of the location. Such a great stay! The pups have never been happier! The house is not large but it feels very spacious and comfortable. It is very clean and the host has stocked the house with everything you'd need. Really loved this place!
We had a lovely stay. The house is clean and has everything you need. It was easy to get in touch with Jesse. There is a wonderful forest hike with a great view of the valley from the top, just at the end of the block.
A great little house! The fenced backyard was very spacious and really nice for our dogs (it was cold & snowy when we stayed, but this house would be great in the summer with the fire pit). The house was super clean and very cute, and the smart TV was really nice when we stayed in on a snowy evening. Good proximity to bunches of things in Cincinnati (and right down the road from Golden Hands bakery and it's incredible donuts). The owners were super responsive and communicative when there was an issue with the heat and got it addressed very quickly. Would definitely stay here again!
The house is well-maintained and has a good-size fenced-in yard, which was great for our little dogs. Great location. Lots of little extras included - they thought of everything. Would stay here again!
My wife, mother, and I stayed for 3 nights with our two dogs. It was a perfect stay!!! Truly home away from home. Having the fully fenced in yard was amazing for the pups. It was great to have our own place to let the pups run freely and the property had everything we needed!!
Loved the close access to stores and walking trails. The house stayed quite cool during some very hots days. Also loved how everything has signs to help identify everything quickly and easily.
My husband and I stayed at Jesse’s smaller house on Old Red Bank for February and March 2025. Our Son and DIL and new grand baby live near the house and I baby sat my 4/5 month old grandson. Jesse was very helpful and responsive. The location was perfect for long walks/runs with my grandson. Walking distance from stores/restaurants in Hyde Park. Wonderful experience.
Loved it so much last year we came back! This place rocks. It’s house is cute and comfy. The kitchen is large and well-stocked and ready for cooking if that’s your preference, but it’s also close to many restaurants (and shopping!) if you like to dine out. We’re able to bring our two pups with us, and they enjoy the fenced-in back yard. She even provides dog beds/crates/poo bags, etc. She really has thought of everything. The beds are comfy and there’s even an office for those who need to work while away, as we do. Jess is always super quick to respond and always checks in to make sure everything is OK. It’s just a great place to stay and if that’s the case, why go We will be back next year!
My husband and I fell in love with Old Red Bank the moment we discovered it. We purchased the cottage in 2015 as a long-term rental and had the privilege of hosting wonderful tenants—most stayed around two years, saved for their first homes, and started their families. We’re still friends with many of them today.
In 2017, we took on a foreclosed home down the street. It was a massive project that pushed my husband’s DIY skills to the limit, but after nearly a year of renovation, it became another place where new Cincinnati families could grow and build their futures.
By 2022, the cottage’s tenants welcomed a new baby and moved into their forever home. With the increasing demand for furnished stays in the area, we decided to transform the cottage into a short-term rental. It was a leap of faith, but one I’m so grateful we took. Hosting has become one of my favorite adventures, and I can’t wait to welcome you to Old Red Bank.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Old Red Bank the moment we discovered it. This little hillside street feels peaceful and tucked away, yet it sits close to everything—Hyde Park, Oakley, Ault Park, and quick access to both I-71 and Columbia Parkway.
We love the mix of neighbors, the steady flow of walkers, runners, and cyclists heading toward Wasson Way, and the sense of community that makes this area feel welcoming and safe. It has the perfect balance of convenience and quiet—close to city life, but with the calm of a residential pocket where people still wave as they pass by.
For us, it’s the best of both worlds, and we’re so grateful to share it with guests.
What makes this property unique
This bungalow blends its 1930s structure with thoughtful modern touches throughout. Guests love the bright, sunlit kitchen, dedicated home office with an adjustable desk, and the fully fenced backyard perfect for dogs. The compact pre–WWII stairs give the home its quirky personality, while updated décor, comfortable bedding, and multiple TVs add the modern comfort today’s travelers expect. It’s a stylish, convenient home base close to Hyde Park, Oakley, Ault Park, and the Wasson Way Trail.
