Our newly constructed stand alone 2 Bedroom 1 Bath 650 square foot home is located next to 72 open acres with horses sleeps 6 people including the use of a sofa bed. The kitchen also includes a brand new refrigerator, GE electric cooktop with pots and pans, microwave with air fryer, coffee pot and mixer. Also available by request is a Kitchenaid mixer. With WiFi and a 50" TV you can binge on NetFlix too. Located less than 19 miles from the San Diego Airport, 24 miles from the World Famous San Diego Zoo, 17 miles from San Diego State University, quick access to the Gaslamp and 30 minutes from the beautiful beaches of La Jolla the Morey de Prieto Surf Ranch offers you privacy, majestic mountain views and access to wonderful trails including Iron Mountain Trailhead, Mission Trails, Sycamore, Cowles Mountain and dozens of other trails for hiking and biking. We are also close to boating activities at Mission Bay as well as Lake Jennings and San Vicente Reservoir. If the vineyards in Ramona Valley are on your list or the historic mountain town of Julian then you will be even closer to your destination. From the ocean to the foothills of the Cuyamaca Mountains you will definitely enjoy your stay and return for future adventures. Update: In August of 2024 we added a 240 square foot Trex deck complete with a fire pit, seating for 6 and a new BBQ so you can enjoy a nice relaxing evening outdoors or sit out and watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee.

Lakeside San Diego

We wanted somewhere away from the city centre with easy access to all locations, the Casita served all our wishes. The house was clean and comfortable and the hosts were always on hand if we needed any questions answered. An excellent rental.

Long weekend for a Wedding

Absolutely beautiful property just outside of Lakeside, CA. We selected this location due to it's proximity to my cousin's condo, and it was perfect. House was immaculate, beds were comfortable, and everything was as described! We couldn't have asked for nicer hosts.

Lakeside Casita

The house is newer & nicely furnished. Being in East County it was a drive to get to anyplace, but has good freeway access and usually not bad traffic. The only downside was it's closeness to a main highway so the traffic noise was noticeable. But overall it was a nice house, comfortable and convenient.

Great place to stay in San Diego

Hands down the best vacation rental experience I've had. Being a new construction, the place was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. High ceilings, lots of windows, and intentional decor make this place feel larger than it is. Brett was a great host and communicated in timely manner when we asked for recommendations on local food and sites to visit. We wanted to be close to everything but also a little outside of the city and all the major sites from La Jolla to Balboa Park was a quick 25 min away. I definitely won't hesitate to rebook this property when visiting SD again.

Why they chose this property

Scenic mountain and valley views from breathtaking sunrises to golden hour sunsets with plenty of wildlife including owls, hawks, horses, squirrels, raccoons, rabbits and coyotes just to name a few. This is a terrific area of San Diego and you are centrally located to everything including surfing at La Jolla and Del Mar.

What makes this property unique

We have over 1.34 acres including a koi pond, waterfall, acres of open pasture land next store with horses we like to feed organic carrots and we are just minutes from everything San Diego has to offer from Sea World to the World Famous San Diego Zoo, boating, hiking, surfing, the Gaslamp District and historic towns. We even have a terrific rodeo here in Lakeside each April so check out the Morey de Prieto Surf Ranch on your next visit to "America's Finest City."
