The host and hostess went above and beyond. Stocking many extras, offering hiking info to my daughter in law and my granddaughters. I booked it as a mother's day present.
This house was adorable and the hosts were so gracious and kind! We were there celebrating my husband‘s birthday, and they left a birthday cake for him-so thoughtful :)
The kitchen was very well stocked. Everything you might need. They had a lot of extras. There was a few things for the kids to play with. Puzzles and books for everyone. Very convenient for us to visit with family. Things to do in the area as well.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Location was convenient to everything without being surrounded by people. National forest was amazing!

Owners were very helpful and communicated throughout the entire trip. Home was clean, well stocked & they even provided extra amenities beyond normal expectations. Snacks, k-cup coffee pods, expandable towels for hiking, charcoal & lighter fluid for the grill. We were very pleased with the accommodation and highly recommend this place to stay. Just great people all around.
Wonderful stay near Garden of the Gods and Rim Rock Trail! We had such a great stay here! The home was beautifully decorated with lots of thoughtful touches that made it feel extra welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked with staples—including coffee and bottled water—which we really appreciated. Everything was spotless, and there were plenty of clean towels available. The owner was very responsive and friendly, both before our arrival and during our stay. The location was perfect for exploring Garden of the Gods and Rim Rock Trail, which were our main destinations. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area!

The hosts are awesome. Very quick on responding to questions, helpful maps and restaurants recommendations at the hideaway. Good wifi and the whole house is fully stocked. We had a great time.

A comfortable little house with just the space we needed. The couple did so many little extras, popcorn, snacks, bottled water, water filter pitcher, picnic supplies, etc. Communication was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed our stay in this cozy home. There was so much attention to detail - seasonal decorations, comfy furniture, and a very well stocked kitchen and bathroom. A fire was set up for us in the backyard, snacks and drinks were left out for us, and the house was very clean and tidy. Our hosts were attentive and made some great hiking suggestions. We recommend staying at the Shawnee Hideaway!
We really enjoyed our stay here! The house is older but has all the comforts of home, with lots of thoughtful touches throughout. Anytime we needed something, it was there — from toiletries and cooking spices to little candies left for the kids when we checked in.We loved the remote, rural setting — it was peaceful and a great place to unwind after long days of hiking, biking, and exploring the forest. The only small downside was some traffic noise from trucks passing by in the mornings, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. It was so nice having a comfortable place to come back to each night, make a homemade meal, clean up, and relax before another day of adventure. We didn’t get a chance to use the outdoor fire pit (we talked about it every night but were too tired from exploring!), so that’s something to look forward to next time. We’d definitely love to come back — there’s so much more to do and see in the area!
This is a quote he wrote in our guest book when he left
"I came out from CA and never been to a place like this everyone is so nice and I felt at Home this was the best experience thank you for everything Kirk"
